Super easy and fast border crossing. After half an hour we were in Georgia.

Official parking and picknick area, illuminated during night. With toilets and picknick tables. Nothing romantic, but convenient and pretty quiet during night time. MTS signal okay.

It's a gravel road to some small village. during the day a few cars passed but nobody stopped to talk to us. the night was fresh and relaxing. it is a safe stop on your way to the coast, it's not hidden since everything is agriculture fields

Confirmed, you can drive with your car (even 2wd) to the top of the rim (in dry weather). It's about 6 km of washboard over gravel and sand, annoying but not difficult. It looks like Al Waba Crater but without visitor center, it's all nature. There's no path to go down but if you're keen you can improvise! We spent the night there and we were alone, very quiet. Camels and sheep around.

Nothing fancy but better than a parking area along the highway. The road to go up the hill has been washed away and it's rough and steep now but doable even in 2wd. Little shade.

We stayed the night in fort of the Red Crescents office but in the morning we discovered this place with wonderful views. Quiet and calm place. Occasionally some motorcycles or framers will pass by to go to the next village and some fire places are used it indicates that locals are coming at the weekend here or Maybe the shippers used it. But all nice people. In the village near highway to Quchan there are bakery and Water and groceries available. People there are very nice and even not that penetrant as other parts of Khorasan province.

Really cool variety of camping options. We slept in our tent, you can pop up anywhere in the camping sites. It’s a bit loud by the road. Lots of passing trucks And barking dogs but the experience was great. The outdoor kitchen has a community fridge. Label your food. There is a hot plate and grills. you can hang in the lobby or outdoor tables. Lots of hammocks. Outdoor showers and toilets. Cool little boutique shop. If you’re in a van you have to stay parked in the parking lot for the base $30 but you can still use the amenities.

Very scenic and good road to get there, we loved it here. Take the trail right of the spot (it’s an old road) to get down to the beach, it’s easier than the left one. Only 3 people living down there and very friendly. Bring a bag to collect plastic bottles and keep this picturesque beach clean for other overlanders :)

Got it for free. Spend about 10 mins discussing with the gentleman. He tries to pocket some money for himself, I think. 5k CFA to be precise. In the end, he said, its a "gift" by him. I don't believe he has the authority to gift the money that belongs to the Senegalese people to a tourist like me and I told him so.

There were two pages of DINA 4, with some stamps, glued to the door of the his office. It mentioned something about 5k CFA. I was permitted to take a picture, but screwed up with the dark light. Its very blury. Might try to upload it later. I had no time to translate it all. I just asked for a receipt. He stapled a receipt with 5k CFA onto my passavant. However, the bottom half with the signature was missing. (It was similar to the small receipt that you get at the Diama border (2500 CFA in that case.). I explained that I won't accept a receipt without his signature and returned the broken receipt to him. After another 5 min of arguing he asked me to leave :-)

BTW, he didn't ask for my passport or any other ID. So if you need a second stamp and think he will refuse, you might try to send your friend or spouse ;-)

It was also interesting to see that he was aware of the 'scheme' at the Diama border with the Zargane 'company'. He even new and told me the price they ask there: 250 EUR and said he wasn't happy about it.

I've been in this place and it was a great experience. I will put some informations in here about the tour they offer

Contemplative trail:
The tour lasts approximately 01h20min and is a contemplative walk around the sinkhole with two stopping points for observing the birds and the sinkhole. The trail is 970m and the groups are accompanied by a local guide.

Contemplative trail 01h20min
Adults: BRL 140.00/person
Children: R$ 102.00 (children from 6 to 12 years old)
Senior: BRL 115.00 (above 60 years old)
Children up to 5 years old are free
These are the prices for this year 2024!!
Closed shoes are required for the trail

I highly recommend book a tour in bonito or directly with them

Public bathhouse.
Entry 15 Dh per person, men have only showers, women have only hamam. Very clean!
For the real Hamam experience (women only), bring your own scratchy washing glove or buy one for 20Dh at the entrance. Buy also special hamam soap for 1Dh. You can then scrub yourself or ask one of the women working there to scrub you which is the perfect spa experience. It’s 50Dh extra and you’ll be cleaner than ever.

will never understand why on earth people think they need a fixer for this border. Compared to the rest of the world, this is one of the easiest borders in more than 100 countries visited. Everything self explanatory, only nice and helpful people, most even speak English. Save the 20€ and invest it in a delicious local dinner in Morocco if you want to spend it.

No need for a fixer. It’s not more complicated than grocery shopping in a local supermarket. :-) Really. Try it and be proud of yourself afterwards!

Took us not more than 1,5 hours to get from Mauritania to Morocco. Note that all vehicles must go through a scanner and all vehicles are inspected by dogs. So don’t even think about bringing a drone or something else…
Very easy, very friendly border. No need to waste money on a fixer.

It‘s possible to stay overnight in front of the hotel in your car when eating in the restaurant. Try the camel meat tajine: delicious!
There is a very clean outside toilet you may use during the night, ask the guard to show it to you.
Restaurant for Moroccan breakfast (fresh bread, jam, cheese and olive oil) opens at 6:30, cook starts working at 8:30 for tourist breakfast with eggs. Good real coffee and refreshing orange juice!

We drove over the “fence” (its just the wire) maybe 70-100 m in. It looked like a totally unused track (no fresh tracks) and we are not sure if it’s private property anymore or not. We stayed in the riverbed, to better hide, but there is absolutely nobody around. Not even one car passed the way in between 16 hours. In daytime there are some flies around and there is one stinky tree, but just drive down the riverbed and you will be fine :) Really good MTC connection. Crazy beautiful surrounding and amazing sunset.
