Leaving Liberia very easy, at the border I changed 50 euro to Leones with a good rate, bought a Sierra Leone SIM card with 5gb 200 Leones. Stamped our passports and we were good to go, they write passport details in a book before crossing the bridge. None asked to take our TIP or look in our van.

SL side the guy made us wash our hands, we explain we need to make the visa and car document. In a different building Mr Coffee, nice guy, makes the VOA, cost $80 for non-ecowas (price on the wall). Then we made the TIP document in a different office, they explained (but had no document to prove) that it's $80 for 4x4, $100 for mini bus & $150 for large bus.

They argued that my Sprinter was a minibus, but I only had $80 so argued with them to pay 80, i went back to Mr Coffee and asked for his help, sure enough he made a phone call and it was fine, I could pay $80. Need to have the TIP stamped by 3 different people. No one looked at our car and no comment was made about it being RHD

Different price depending on class, 500, 750, 1000. I have a LWB sprinter and argued we should pay 500, we have only 4 wheels and 3 seats. But they were having none of it, called many people and we had to pay 750. Real document stapled to our TIP

Not very quiet, but thank goodness for earplugs. Nice view of the city. Recommend riding your bike along the trail at sunset, checking out the gardens across the street, and/or skating on top of the railed overlook.

No longer any long termers. Not a ton of 8hr spots. We got here at 930p on a Sunday and snagged one of the last ones.

We stayed here 2 nights and they were both amazing! The cell service was strong enough to work off both days (Verizon) and we were able to do hikes after work. The first night we climbed the tower and watched the sunset (image attached)! To get there you go back the road until you go over the cattle grates then you’re in the national forest. There are pull offs every so often but very spaced out. There is also a well kept pit toilet bathroom. Perfect place to stay without having to officially leave the park. Coin showers available in the village.

just a heads up since.this spot hasn't had a check in for a couple years. the road was closed and gated today. perhaps it opens later in the season. the turn onto the road is really rough and could chew up tires I think if a person isn't careful. Just wanted to give folks a heads up.

Nice (and lot of) place on top of the mountain. Great to prepare our shipping. Stayed two nights. First night ok but second evening, guy told we could not camp for the night because it is national park. We begged to stay explaining we were leaving tomorrow early and that it was complicated to move. He said ok exceptionally.

Beautiful small state run campground on a reservoir and close to 400. Sits among large KS farms so very quiet and green. Self pay $20 with electric. All sites have electric. But you pay $5 only if do not need a hookup. Loved it!

I’ve been driving to this hostel for over 15 years. Excellent surf hostel owned by Richard. Share dorm rooms with your amigos for $25 usd per person per night. Really nice new private rooms with banos available as well. Camping on site is an option for $15 per night inside gate. Excellent location. 2 ways to get here. One road from the San Telmo area goes west thru river bottom. Or drive north along coast to reach Cuatro Casas Hostel. Enjoy!

Alfredo is a great mechanic. Our clutch went on a xtz250. We arrived at 4pm. He stayed late to fix it and even brought Honey for my friend that is sick. Would recommend

Stayed here April 2024, not sure what the other reviewer was talking about, the sites are only $49.00 for a 30 amp full service during summer, which they gave to us for $39 as a spring rate. Heavily treed and private sites, 24 hour free bathrooms with hot showers, heated pool, free mini-golf, laundry facility and great restaurant on site with patio beside pond and pool. Amazing bang for buck.

Good (maybe the only) place to eat in town. Can be hard to find. I don't know if there's a sign outside. Look for the open door or window on the corner, or if the door is closed, you can walk in.

My milanesa with rice and salad cost ARS$4000 (US$4).

You may need to bring your own drink.

Found this hotel in the dark after a long cycle day halfway from Kigoma. Room is clean and Nice with mosquito net, pit toilet, bucket shower for 10.000. Didn't try to negotiate because i was to tired. Room was clean. bicycle u can store inside

looked for a place to dleep at the junction to the Old Mpanda Road but didn't find anything. Only a school a bit before the junction coming from north where u could ask for shelter for the night.

If you wanna spend a night in the hotel before you start to cycle along the old mpanda road this is a good place. It's 7km to the junction but very much flat so you are there in no time.

Carlos and his son Angel are 2nd and 3rd generation in the area.they know some secrets, so if you're patient they will made your experience better than just climb the Mogote (which is already amazing).
Campground is beautiful, hot showers (they should start the water heater before) clean toilets and many spots to choose in depends where the wind is blowing. fire pits everywhere. they sell some groceries (including home made salami and cheese)

There are a couple of sites not very far off the highway. They are pretty decent, excluding old hunters' garbage. Further on in, the road becomes very rutted and the sites were quite soft. I nearly got stuck and had a very difficult time turning around.

We‘ve been here for one night. We stayed at the viewpoint with the security guard and the police checked 3 times, if everything is alright. But we didn‘t feel that safe anyway - maybe it‘s better to leave after sunset. The view for sure is quite amazing.

The Apex Skate park connects to a parking lot, between Hunter st, and Apex Peakway. There are soccer fields, a baseball field, and a dog park. The skatepark has lights running all night. You can park anywhere along the main driveway, as long as your not in the gated area. The Parks and Rec truck came by at 11 pm to lock the gates by the baseball field. I asked them if I could camp the night in my rig, and they said it was fine. The fuzz drove by at 1145 pm, and didn’t stop for me. Fall asleep to the sound of the nature from the nearby bog, and to the sound of some gnarly skate ambiance. I’m here on a Sunday night, and it is quiet, and very peaceful, not much traffic noice.

ps: SKATE OR DIE

pps: there is an active railroad close to the park
