lovely spot by a river and aqueduct. It’s marked as a boat launch, but seems like it would be fine for overnight. Room for a few vehicles. Great for a cold swim!

Beautiful spot, the sign does say, boating and fishing only, but I plan to stay the night anyway.

Came last night to Finca. It was too late for the tour. they close at 4 pm. They did not allow us to use RTT on Finca. Instead we pulled in this spot as it was getting dark and the road is Hi 4x4. Peaceful and tranquil here. Tomorrow we plan to go for chocolate tour at Finca at 9 am.
Only 4x4 and high clearance vehicles can make it here.

Hundreds of truck spaces in two lots behind the main rest area. Signs in Car parking lot indicate no overnight parking. Had No problem parking in back when we arrived around 8:30 pm. Good and safe spot if you don’t mind trucks driving in and out all night. Earplugs help. Would stay here again.

no building there anymore but still a great viewpoint with lots of space for picknick and should be good for sleeping as well.

Pasamos 2 días en este lugar. Nadie nos molesto. La canilla es un caño doblado (entre el pasto, procuren dejarlo de nuevo bien atado para no desperdiciar agua). En la noche nos fuimos a dormir al costado de las letras de GAROPABA, donde esta la laguna(porque nos dijeron que acá hay mucho viento). IMPORTANTE: en las letras hay que moverse antes de las 9 de la mañana porque prefectura puede multar.

Restaurant that happily receives campers and van travellers for free!! Just a bit outside of Chota, going towards Jaen, turn right at the Y where there’s a division between two carreteras.

We were received so well by the family of owners! The restaurant was closed so we bought a few beers to drink with them, but always better if you consume something there to support them! One of the sons is a chef so better to help out with his starting business. The lot is a huge green spot by a river. It has bathroom and cold shower for you to use. Very quiet night (not bothered by the road) and safe spot so close to the city!

Endroit tranquille et sur pour passer la nuit

Beautiful place located at the river. 350pula pppn. Ablutions basic but work well, you share the one toilet and one shower with one other campsite. Manager Computer is very nice and hospitable. You can hear the other campsites, especially if you're a little unlucky with your neighbours. We stayed at numerous campsites around Khwai and this is our favourite.

At night it has among the highest amount of animal activity in Khwai. Computer explained that the animals in the area often walk along the river between Magotho Campsite and here, which is why you're most likely to find animal activity at these campsites. We heard a lot of animals, and had our camp visited by a lion, hyena (which apparently come every night), honey badger, and hippo. Be aware that, especially the hyena, will take whatever it can. So keep all your food and such locked in your car or in the bin (which it knocked over when we were there). It also took one pair of our bath slippers and absolutely ruined those, so maybe just make sure you keep everything you don't want destroyed in your car or tent.

Loved this place, can definitely recommend it.

Passing through, I have stayed here before. For a Walmart it's a great place for a night.

Great place to camp by the river, not accessible by cars so I guess few people ever come here. Pitch your tent on the rocks or sand.

Plenty space while I was here. Not the best site, but some grass if you like. You can also pitch where the river is quiet.

If you're following the SAND route on bikepacking.com, or coming past here by some other means, this is an excellent spot to camp. Lots of rock slabs to pitch your tent. I didn't stay myself, as I wanted to go further. Can only be accessed on foot, water or bike, so very secluded.

Small shop with the essentials. Can also fill up with fresh water. A helpful stop if you're passing through by bicycle. Pella has much more, and Goodhouse has a bit more too.

Got gas today without negotiating for the local price.

Mittwoch, früher Nachmittag, extrem voll. Viele Autos, viele Zelte, viel Verkehr. Wir sind wieder gefahren.

Stayed one night here with our camper. It was very quiet and peaceful. There is room for two rigs pulled straight in. Construction zone in the lot next door. You need to access this spot from Gills Neck Road not Rt 9. The gps wants to take you on Dr 9 which makes it hard to find in the dark!

On the way to Jerash we spotted this quiet spot above the Zarqa River. A beautiful view and sun until sunset

Very nice trailhead parking lot! Very quiet over night, but does get busy in the morning with people hiking, fishing and walking their dogs. Nobody bothered me though. Last car left around 9:30 PM after I arrived, so I'd suggest arriving late. Then you'll have a wonderful night's sleep. There is a shelter with picnic benches and the porta potti was there on my visit, equipped with toilet paper and hand sanitiser. Very nice spot, felt safe, would recommend!

loved seeing the wildlife : birds, geese, ducks even multiple deer ! appreciated the garbage can and cleanliness of the space. the entrance is tight for taller units. don't suggest if your over 12.5 ft due to a couple trees at the entrance.

La dump station est ouverte. Cependant l’eau pour rinser ne marchais pas. On a du utiliser l’eau de la van. C’était propre et pas achalandé comme mentionné dans le post précédent

Il y avait aussi possibilité de remplir notre réservoir où il y a de l’essence pour les vans ( on était plein donc pas essayé).

Very friendly family! The area is their gated yard, there’s kitchen, bathroom, and shower in the outside area. Their puppy is a great play buddy with our dog! :) Felt very safe and the place is quiet and beautiful. The shower doesn’t have much water and is lukewarm, internet speed is around 10 mbps.

Small gravel lot with port-a-potty. We didn’t stay here because we were camped on the other side of the lake, but it appears to be legit. No “No camping” signs and other RVs here.

Undisturbed night here, bit of highway noise. We were the only people parked here, between Jimmy Johns and gas station like others had suggested.
