I hesitate posting this so we can try and keep this place to ourselves, but you should know. We had a nice spot on the river and received some nice new neighbors late in the night. All in all worth the drive.

Large flat area just up the logging road, nice and flat with great views. Some people seemed set up for a while with their dirt bike.

Just a small clearing off the side of an FSR. Road in is smooth gravel, the only part my low-clearance 2WD car struggled with was getting up over the berm on the side. Take it slow and at an angle and you’ll have no problem. Nice views of the river and sounds of trees rustling.

Primitive tent camping is $35 per night for non South Carolina residence. Google maps on this site has directions wrong but use Google maps off this site and you’ll find it. The park entrance is different is all. Dogs are allowed on the beach before 10am and after 5pm. Yay. This is a nice park.

Really beautiful spot! If you follow the little road to the end (be aware of deep puddles) you can almost sleep on the beach, although that's a quite popular spot among the local fishermen. You have a beautiful view on where the river flows into the sea and are almost completely hidden from everyone else! It is close to the main road and you do hear it in the distance but that's almost surpassed by the sound of the waves. Mosquito repellent recommended ;-)

The road has been renovated. We went to the dry season with a 4x4 jimny. No problem. We passed a truck the other way. Completely practical. The canyon is magnificent.

$40.25 for a site with water and electric. No damp station in the campground but there is a free dump station a couple of streets away. Beautiful sites, well-spaced. However, we were really annoyed when our Visa bill showed that we had been charged a $5.00 booking fee. Originally, we were told the fee was $34. Be sure to get the fee straight. Wifi did not work. Grande Cache is a nice town.

We shipped our bikes with Duncan from Rotterdam to Cape Town. The process went very smooth. We stayed at Duncan’s campground for a week. Together with the other overlanders preparing their trips it was easy to get in the travel mood. Great place to start the journey up north!

Stayed here one night, confirming information from previous reviews below.
I do want to add, one worker was super aggressive the entire time we were there, they followed my partner into the bathroom at one point! They didn’t know we were staying in the parking lot but another worker tried to follow us out when seeing us being harassed. We will not be staying here again.
Just be careful.

A small locally owned hot springs. Has four bathrooms two of which have showers. The water is not too hot but a little over bath temperature. Four soaking areas to choose from. The small hot tub sized spring is the hottest do to the small size. The one giant pool sized spring that goes up to 6 ft deep. The last two areas are fixed inside the large soaking pool.

Large property that can fit big rigs. Some spots have electric, water and dump hookups. Possibly only one or two. My electric hookup didn’t work. The water smells of sulfur do to the natural springs.

Prices may vary but as of this post $20 to stay the night and $10 to use the hot springs. Springs are open all night for guests and close at 9pm for non overnight guests.

Large parking lot in an old strip mall with no "no" signs. A couple of camper vans hanging out. The strip mall is active but the entrances are way on the side and in the back. H Earl Clack museum inside. Across the street is a Super 8 with free wifi that I stayed at with no problem. Decent Verizon and ATT.
