We had a really nice night here. We parked in front of the closed museum and every single local that drove by gave us a nice wave. Two came over to chat and offered us beer and one let us know where he lived in case we needed anything.
We toured the museum in the morning and left a 50 peso tip. Watch out for the guard goose and also the 4 free range horses that may come for a visit.
A very quiet and safe night and a good place to stop for a sleep.
Lots of room for large rigs and even some grassy areas for a tent

Simple campground dedicated to climbers. There are two well equipped kitchens, with pans, stove, microwave and kitchenware. Besides the camping area, they offer private rooms as well a shared one.

Useful stop between Cusco and Nazca, not too high in altitude. Plenty of Space, easy access, quiet at night, no music or dogs parking. Nice river accessible a few meters further down. Surprisingly good phone signal with Entel.

Just as described. Another camp already setup when I arrive last night, but plenty of room for two, prolly more (other camp still there when I snagged my pics, but far enough away not pictured). Quiet (besides occasional car on dirt road which could be mistaken for wind noises), solid star gazing and beautiful view of the river from the site.

Plenty of space for tents away from the vehicle-compatible area.
Wetland just down the hill worth a tour of the frog song in the spring.

Gorgeous lake, totally worth stopping here for a night, right off Alaska highway (traffic noise not an issue), get there early I.e. 1Pm’ish as even this early in the season lots of people looking after 4pm for one of the lake side spots. Pit toilets typically Canadian ie. Clean:) was too cold to Kayak for us given lake refroze over night, assume late June it would be awesome.

Didn’t stay on this exact street, but on one of the streets in the area. There were a few beat up looking RVs and homeless people, but everything felt safe. Lots of room, a truck with a camper trailer even pulled up across from me around 9pm. Looked like a semi or two parked for the night as well. There was a strange and loud sounding golf cart looking thing that pulled around 5am and woke me up, maybe the police checking up on the area? Hour and a half later I’m making coffee with no problems though.

Government restaurant, we had chicken with rice 90 cup (0,90$), soup 50, mojito 50, beer 125 500ml (the cheapest I have seen)
it was tasty and very cheap compare with the touristic restaurants...
I had being putting this kind of restaurant's through my trip in Cuba in differents cities if you want to eat for less than 2-3 dolars have a look!

Accidentally arrived. Here instead of the lake
Shore lodge. After a quick check with brother Dominick there is one spot for the overlander at the waters edge near to the shipping container accommodation. Staying on the waters edge with the strong afternoon onshore breeze sounded better than in the trees at lake shore lodge. There was some young adults with music in the early evening but it quieted down before long. Used the toilet and cold shower in one of the rooms. Was asked for 40,000 tzs for one person per night and that’s crazy so he reduced it to 20,000. More negation could have gotten it lower buts it’s a mission so consider it part of giving.

Great place at the river. Close to community center Waswanipi. Take left right before the bridge (coming from N) Very quiet... but some people might pass by for a chat. Maggy, from the social center, has some great stories... and tasty cookies.

Typically crackle barrel. Even with located right on the highway, there is very little to no road noise! They do have deliveries Mondays morning starting at 5:30, so be prepared for that noise.

Felt a little sketchy, and now it's just before 8am and I just woke up to a gentle knock on the van that set off my dogs. Got up and dressed and don't see anyone around. I'm leaving anyway.

My goodness, such FIERCE winds here last night! I've stayed when somewhat windy before, but last night was next level. It was just us up here, though! Aside from a ranger, we didn't see anyone Memorial Day weekend. Beautiful and so, so quiet and peaceful.

Arrêt dodo autorisé uniquement a l’extrémité du stationnement du côté du centre jardin loin de l’entrée. Nous etions seul mais tres tranquille et aucuns désagréments.

Sleep stop authorized only at the end of the parking lot on the side of the garden center far from the entrance. We were alone but very quiet and no inconvenience.

Great spot! We stayed one night in the parking lot outside the fence. It was very quiet after 8pm. There is a very nice play structure for kids, lots of green space, and picnic tables. There is also a pavilion that has an outdoor sink with hot and cold water. A canteen was open in the afternoon, selling ice cream.
