Didn’t know how to edit our original post so checking in…We found out this morning that at 6200 feet it snows on Memorial Day Weekend.
Not a single car came down the road last night. Absolute peace and quiet.

As described there are a few camping spots here. I drove in about 3 miles and saw 2 or 3 spots to pullout. Some OHV traffic but its expected. Verizon LTE but seems to get worse the further back you go. Was useable at my coordinates but not great. May be more sites driving the various forest roads in the area. Yours to enjoy protect and keep clean 🌲

A ways off the National Forest road. Surrounded by pines. A slightly bumpy road. But doable in my 2wd SUV. Fire ring and couple of places to turn around. If your rig is not too big. Nice and quiet. With a occasional cow or two grazing. Zero facilities and zero cell service.

Beautiful, easy to access spot along the road. Gorgeous panoramic views. Could hear and see the train in the distance. Easily accommodated our large rig. Enough room for several other large rigs to park and still have privacy. Fairly level. Road in was dirt, we’ll maintained, flat, and easy to navigate.

Good campground next to the Quatse River Inlet. We could use a tent site with our van, as we didn't need any hookup. It was $27,83 for us. Clean showers ($1 for 5min) and toilets. Firewood is available for $7. There are also Barbecues free to use.
Friendly Stuff highly recommended!

Site still here. Dirt road navigable by any AWD SUV with decent ground clearance. Some small ruts but a friend's Honda CR-V had no problem navigating behind my Tacoma. we got rained on pretty hard since it's the wet season. Large swathes of the forest have burned down in recent years it seems, but the trees immediately at the campsite and on the drive up to the site up Suicide pass road are intact. the site is a flat pullout on suicide pass road about a half mile up from the highway. Haven't gone farther but there is likely other locations deeper in the forest down the road. Just needed a place to stop for the night. Could hear some coyotes in the distance for a little while. Writing this as the rain is coming down, hoping we can get out in the morning and have no trouble navigating the road, could be dicey as I'm unsure of how slippery the road could be when wet. Wouldn't recommend camping in the rain if you don't have too. Make sure you don't come here low on gas, Ashland is 50 some miles west and Broadus is 25 miles or so back east. Very sparsely populated and saw one car coming out of the road when pulling off the highway but nobody since. Cell service on the mountain is decent, 2-3 bars 4G Verizon, allowing me
to post this from my tent hiding from the rain. May 29th 2022 - May 30th 2022

New campsite by the main road. Ground tents can camp at the lawn and rooftop tents must camp at a huge parking lot with a nice view. Probably a bit noisy because of the road. They asked for 5,000 rfw ppn.

As usual ground tents can use a nice lawn and rooftop tents use the parking lot but the owner said he would change it soon. They asked 10,000 RWF ppn. Really next to the road.

Small off road carpark/field privately owned, with gated access. £10 overnight stay or £20 for 24 hours. Pay at the house next door. No amenities, and dogs welcome. Very peaceful and tranquil.

There’s a small parking lot in front of an old train station at this small village. Spent one quiet and safe night. The rout is very pretty.

A fantastic spot, from the road it doesn’t look special but don’t let that fool you. As mentioned the bathrooms are of a very high standard. You have direct access to the beach which is good for swimming and a reasonable surf beach too. Beach got busy on the weekend but in a really pleasant way. Owner/manager is really helpful and attentive Cost was R$60 for two per person.

Basic accommodation, ok for cyclists has there are really few wildspots after Ocros (on the road to Ayacucho)
We paid 30 soles for a doble room.
No wifi here but free wifi on the main plaza. Some tiendas on the plaza too.
The owner doesn't live here but you could call those numbers to join her :
+51967561433 or +51 931 013 436
She also manages the restaurant on the ground floor (closed on Sundays so not tested)
We could put our bikes on the first floor, but you can put it in the restaurant too.

Es gratis. Es una gasolinera amplia y muy tranquila de noche. Hay 3 restaurantes a la par entonces hay wifi y servicios sanitarios disponibles si se consume algo.

It’s free. It has a big parking space, very quite at night. There are 3 restaurants so there are restrooms and Wi-Fi available if you buy something to eat.

We spent 5 relaxing days at Utopia. It‘s very quiet and we had some great sunsets. We could do some work on our truck and use the washing machine (ARS 250 per kilo).
The food cooked by Martina (ARS 1400 per person and meal) was delicious. We had 1 x spare ribs and 1 x lasagna. On our last evening we had asado (ARS 1700 per person). It always was more than enough for us. Additionally Johan brews his own Ale (ARS 450 per bottle).
Since we’re self contained we only used the outside shower in the bushes (couldn’t heat our own water due to technical problems) but not the pit toilet. We could dig a hole on the other side of the street to dump our toilet.
The WiFi signal was weak at our site (at the vine yard) but pretty strong at the outdoor kitchen.
The price for camping is USD 5 (currently ARS 1000) pp and (if needed) ARS 250 per day to connect the van to electricity.

All in all we paid ARS 25000 for 6 nights (2 person in a small big rig), electricity, washing, food and beer.

If you’re travelling with a big rig, contact Martina upfront via WhatsApp since they can‘t accommodate bigger sizes and even the smaller ones depend on time of year (weather conditions).

This Hostel is the best option for backpackers ,I was amazed at the beauty of the place here,it is completely on the sea with a beautiful view during sunrise, especially during the tides.
It is also close to the main road and to almost all the activities that you can do in zanzibar.
The staff are very friendly and nice, the food is delicious and the place is clean, 8€ per night with free wifi and breakfast, the price is very cheap compared to the services.
