aejetter | This sight is parking in front of a bar. They come around noon to make sure that people have paid to stay throughout the day, but we stayed for 2 nights and just left during the day to do other things. No one bothered us. There was a portapotty and there is one spout with running water; I'm not sure if its potable, but it's definitely good for rinsing off your feet with. I posted about it yesterday but wanted to add more pictures today of the specific location. |

javier.frias84 | No water avaliable. there's a water fountain that doesn't work & a water spigot that requires a special key to turn on. you're better off buying some from in town. |

Nice place to spend the night. It closes at 21:00 and open at 6:00 am. They were very kind. We parked behind the convenience store, close to the restroons and te energy plug.

sean.jennings1 | Successfully crossed Bolivia -> Peru. Overall very quick and streamlined process. I arrived after a bus and still was in and out in ~1 hour (once I was across the bridge). The only hiccup was crossing the bridge. They asked for a "tamizaje" (health check). I got this at El Centro de salud a block north of the main plaza on the Peruvian side of Desaguadero. I had to park on the Bolivian side near the pedestrian crossing and walk past both migrations (10min). They checked for 3 vaccinations, but I didn't ask if it was okay with just 2. |

thebigballoftwinetour.com | This and three other Metro stations have designated large vehicle/RV spots. We stayed at Greenbelt and Shady Grove. Weekday have overnight and 12hr limitations (see attached photo of signage). Weekends are wide open - early Sat thru late Sun are free and no worries.
Train into DC is easy and so worth not parking closer to DC. |

elobrilau | Near the toiletts there is a potable water spigot. Not very close to the parking lot so a bit difficult to use for filling up your tank bit perfect for bottles. Maybe with a long hose you can do it? (About 15 meters) |

hannokolvenbach | Before you take the 1 hour drive here, be aware that you will park right next to a house. They don't seem to be bothered, but surely not a seldom spot. Otherwise nice views of the lake. Spotty 3G/4G Claro only with a clear sky, no connection when the clouds come down and it gets foggy. |

johanna.maccioni | Parking is free from 6PM to 8AM and Sundays. Lot's of free places around 4.30PM when museum closes. All day people parc here to go to the museum. During the day it is 2$ per hour with parcmeter. Have to pay 2 places if you have a big rig. Fine is 40$. We stayed all WE and payed partly. Calm at night and close to metro stations. |

aschlemmer185 | Important: For all overnight camping in the Gorge, you are required to purchase an overnight backcountry pass from the visitor center. It was only $5 for one night or $7 for three. There are a few restrictions, but there are a ton of places to stay overnight in the park. We chose to stay at Chimney Rock and just stayed in the vehicle, but you could set up tents if you wish (just make sure you read the restrictions first). At this location, there are bathrooms and nice hikes from here. Great stargazing as well, but you need to hike a little to get out of the trees. There is also good wifi here, unlike most other places in the park. Both AT&T and Verizon. |
