albatros-on-tour.de | May not be the cheapest (difficult to say with prices changing every other week) but very friendly staff. They charge per kilo. We paid ARS 490/kg in November 2022.

stefan | Ruins of Fort Mangochi, constructed in 1897 by the British as part of efforts to disrupt the slave trade. In surprisingly good condition with many buildings still standing and impressive outer walls. Reasonable amount of information online about the history of the site. Short (~5km) steep hike up from parking, but probably best to find someone locally to guide you. Note that this is inside Mangochi Forest Reserve which is now contiguous with Liwonde National Park, so there is a higher than normal chance of animals around (e.g. elephants). |

j_desjardins | Nice camping with mountain and desert views. 6-7 first come first served sites (rv and tent) but arrive early, they go quickly. 10$ for tent, 14$ for rv. Otherwise book online ahead of time. Nice toilets/ free hot showers, firewood 8$ with host. You can borrow bumb boards for free to surf the white sands! Very windy for tent however… |

It is quiet at night and you can enter the park from 5 o’clock onwards to see the swifts leave the cave. Easy 30 min walk to the entrance of the cave. |

JVertigo | on the main road as you drive into town. Basic, clean rooms with private bathroom & open communal area. Parking for 4x4 vehicles, I would estimate clearance is 2.9m. It is a 3 minute walk into town for food. Very peaceful place, away from the music of the bars, super safe. Renato can be reached on Whatsapp +51995385556 |

palaceofpersephone888 | stayed here one night and had zero issues. we chilled at whole foods outside as they have fire pits and headed to park after closing time. lots of spots continued to open close to 11. it seems like a college/youthful area with lots of cute doggies to watch as the parking is right in front of the dog park. we had zero noise issues or concern of being bothered. there was a large rosemary bush that acted as a nice barrier to our side entrance which made this spot pretty cozy. (side note we watched a guy with a four spaces long trailer fit between us and another car, I wa a amazed) |

mrudoma | Large parking lot in state park for fishing pier. No signs prohibiting overnight parking. Well lit at night, surrounded by woods, very quiet and peaceful in off season. Stayed one night and was not bothered, no other campers. Large heated bathroom facilities by pier. Very convenient overnight if taking the ferry. ATT 2 bars. |

katybarnicle | Stayed overnight at McDonald’s. Asked inside and they said they didn’t mind but they couldn’t guarantee that someone wouldn’t come by. They close at 11pm and have Wi-Fi. The city ordinance says to stay at a campground but all campgrounds we found close on October 10th. The national park and private campgrounds in this area are all closed (appears like some things open again in winter). Seems like this touristy place didn’t really think this one through. Super frustrating. Good luck at the Mcdo! |

sydneykirby1999 | It was a good, quiet spot for the night. There's two trailers that seem to be staying there long-term, but it wasn't an issue. Besides them, only one other car stayed the night. I parked outside the gate, but the gate never closed, and there were people driving in and out in the night. The trails were nice to walk the dog in the morning. |

wandatheskoolie | Great spot! First come first serve for sites. Showed up on a Tuesday and the electric sites were mostly taken, but we have a converted skoolie with solar so were able to go to the primitive sites (and those were almost completely empty!) Camp spots were kinda close together, but it's pretty wooded so you've still got some privacy from your neighbors. Flushing toilets and showers! There is also a 3 mile trail that loops around the lake, pretty easy hike with some gorgeous views. Our single spot was 12 a night. Camp hosts were super nice and helped us find a spot that would fit our rig |

williamnramona | Large campground with electricity, pool (open in high season), small lakes, fresh drinking water and showers (unfortunately cold when we visited due to maintenance). Open all year but during low season they sometimes close the gate and go home. So if you drive up the gate and it's closed, call the owner Rocio at 056 993502300. She lives 5 min from the campground. Rocio speaks good English, is super friendly and has great skills for instance to arrange our empty propane tank to be exchanged for a full one during a public holiday. Locals also use this campground for day recreation, but they don't usually stay overnight. |

Escapetotheworldblog | One of the best places in the area! You get to the parking lot. Then you pay 100p entrance fee. But with this you can only do the first canyon on the right. To also do the second one on the left (the further one) you must get a local guide at the parking lot. Price for that is 1300pp. If you'll want to do it alone anyway, they have a person standing where the two paths part and they will enforce you to take a guide anyway. That's what we did, joined another group wlaking further. We didn't feel it was a rip off however - the guide was nice, he got us some helmets when entering a super narrow canyon, he pointed out some indigenous ruins on the way back etc. Well worth it. |

fz6s2n | In addition, we asked to the owner if the water os potable, they certified it, so we fill oue water tank, and despite 4 filters of my water red and addition of a little bit of bleach, when I drink the water I was sick, and I had belly pain. |

alanna.bourke | Really beautiful and private spot, highly recommend!! You have to follow the road past a Refugio but it looked empty and unused and then the spot is hidden out of sight. So peaceful and great to watch the sunset over the lake. Thanks to the original poster! |
