we are traveling with 3 kids and this ranch has been a dream come true for them. Not only has Constanza chicken, paon, pig, alpaca, and horses, but we also had the chance to meet with her brothers who live nearby and organized horseback riding lessons for the kids and for us. Galoping at the sea for the first time has been an amazing experience. It s not the best place if you want to swim in the sea, it s quite dangerous there. but you can swim on some sea lakes between the dunes if you want.

This spot is marked as a picnic site and many overlanders stay here for a night, according to a local who came by to get water from the river.
Enough space for about 5 vehicles, also big trucks. Not much shade, only two smaller trees.
It is right on the river and we watched hippos floating by on the water for almost 3 hours.
Locals are washing their clothes nearby but didn't disturb us. Only children came by to say hi.
Amazing sunset above the Okavango.
Very peaceful and quiet at night, only the sounds of the frogs to be heard.

Thanks to this marker, we decided to check it out and stayed for the night. Beautiful spot by the river.

We went here to Dr. Sanchez, because our dog had two knots in her breast. The doctor did a completed checkup as well a complete blood test. After everything was done and good to go, he cut the knots out under anesthetic. After two hours the dog was fit as nothing did happen. The stitches are almost invisible, better than last time we had her stitched in Europe. Very recommended.

Very faint sign posted at what looks to be the entrance that no motor vehicles are allowed on the road. Not sure if there is some other entrance or if they just parked on the roadside but I've moved on to find somewhere else

Fairly new, clean and spacious station with excellent services, not used to overlanders, though.
No problem to stay on the parking spots for cars, not allowed to mix with the trucks or find a less lighted space.
Good and friendly people.
Good WiFi inside, weak outside.
Good cell phone reception.
Pro tip: sleep with ear plugs.

Nope. New Highway won't you get to them.

Found this dirt road. I have a small Honda CRV, and am hidden from the highway. A tall rig would not be. But there appears to be roads leading deeper and farther.

NO VERIZON BARS.

Definitely coyote and cattle (you can hear their bells) country.

But no trash.

Also, lots of stickers. walk your dog on the dirt and you should be ok

stop at the muelle, it doesn't work anymore...500 m from ruta 7 Carretera Austral, take "acesso muelle"...

Nice clean Coin operated laundromat, has a small parking lot however u can park on the grass which is convenient for larger vehicles

Nice lot with other RVs and tractor trailers. Quiet night, a very good sleep. Used their grocery pickup and it went very well.

Still open to drive, but as mentioned, strictly 4x4. Just before the last parking at cascade del Gigante, go left and go right after 300m, that way is easier than going straight after the parking. It's only 2 km of difficult offroad to arrive at this amazing spot. I walked it first, because even with the defender, I wasn't sure. No shade, no 4G, possible to swim.

You can park on the beach or higher up between the trees. 4G on the beach. Don't try to drive here following the beach from the other ioverlander spot. You need to come down from the mirador (or even a bit further is easier)

One of our favorite places along the coast. Stayed 2 nights, no problems at all. Very quiet at night, just the waves which are only 10 meters from the car ;-) Just be careful not to park under a coconut tree with mature fruits.

There was a police control today, very friendly officer waved us through after asking us of our nationality and our next destination. maybe because our spanish is sooooo bad 😂

Basic hotel, not too expensive.
$16 for a double room, private bathroom. Hot shower. There’s also a restaurant.
Safe private parking available in a garage downstairs.

13.000 CFA ( 20 euros) 2 people + 4x4 1 night for parking.
Looks nice place but camping area tiny and uneven surface.
No place to wash dishes nor hot water in showers and no possibility of filling water if not from toilets it seems.
Absolutely overpriced but only option in the area if not near the street.

Point of view on the waterfall of the bride's veil. 600 m walk from parking. The first part is rather flat, then it goes up well at the end. The waterfall is in several falls on a fairly high height. The point of view is worth it.

The turquoise lake is at the heart of the crater of a volcano. It’s a pretty lake and you have a magnificent view of the Laguna Esmeralda and the snow-capped mountain range that surrounds it. The walk is about 3 km round trip, but everything is uphill. The elevation is approximately 360 m in 1.5 km. Most of the climb is in the forest and on arrival you have to pass some muddy areas. The round trip is estimated at 3:20.

le lac turquoise est au cœur du cratère d’un volcan. c’est un joli lac et vous avez un magnifique point de vue sur la Laguna Esmeralda et la chaîne montagneuse enneigée qui l’entoure. la marche est d’environ 3 km aller retour, mais tout est en montée. le dénivelé est d’environ 360 m en 1,5 km. la plus grande partie de la montée est dans la forêt et à l’arrivée il faut passer quelques zones boueuses. l’aller retour est estimé à 3h20.

there is a spigot at the campground and 2 at the visitors center BUT they are turned off in the winter. a park ranger let me fill up my motorhome from the only spigot turned on in the “residential/staff only” lot.

ask in the visitor center if they have a spigot to fill up your rig! if you just need drinking water, there is a free, potable faucet in between the men and women’s restroom at the campsite!

A beautiful place! Even though there is no electricity or water on the sites, the view from the site is AMAZING, directly to the sea!

The road that gets to the campground is 48 km paved road and the last 17 km is gravel road.

The host was very nice, her English is very good, she’s a marine biologist so she has a lot of knowledge.

The toilets are pit toilet but very clean, the showers are bucket shower but also very clean and plenty of hot water.

Wi-Fi, surprisingly is pretty good but works better at the office.

In the morning there’s a whale watching tour,

and had SO much fun.

Highly recommended! we would definitely come again😁.

Came in late last night and there were a few other cars and trucks. Stayed till about 8 this morning and no one bothered us. Great place to walk my dog in the morning and plenty of open spots.

I pulled in at 18:15 in my Jeep Cherokee Overland Rig, Fired up my CDH, blocked out my windows, crawled in. Their were 6-7 other vehicles at the trail head after dark. I am passing through and plan on snowboarding Breck tomorrow. The community should encourage more economical overnight parking with no amenities vs expensive campgrounds or feeling like I'm sneeking arround.

I practice no trace overlanding / camping and have a federal retired & disabled veteran all access pass for federal land.

Great place. Love the atmosphere. Enough space to store two bicycles. Basic rooms with everything you need. Parking lot for 4WD, motorcycle. Not enough space to park your expedition truck.

Bought diesel in the truck lanes and then propane. Employees were all very prompt and polite, and location was nice and clean. If you're headed west on 58, don't make our mistake and turn right onto the frontage road. Take the cloverleaf to the left to get back on the Hwy.
