Beautiful campsite outside of town. The property is huge, you can access the river for fishing (trout). They have a lot of tables and shelters for use. Bathroom with (gas heated) hot showers. However I have to confirm the previous comment: either very hot, or very cold, nothing in between. The owner family is super friendly. No WiFi but 4G good enough to work with 😃

Fritz’ house is an amazing place to stay in Rio and more or less the only camping ground around. There is space for several vehicles, at least 6-8. Seems suitable for big rigs too with an entrance that is several meters high.
They also rent private rooms.
There is a shower, toilet and a basic kitchen for the overlanders and a lawn, swimming pool and billiard for everybody. It is an amazing place within the forest and covered in nature. There are monkeys in the morning and sometime Toucans.
The bus 557 stops less than 5 minutes away and gives very good connections to downtown Rio in about 45 minutes. The metro/underground is about 30 minutes away. Well stocked supermarket with good prices is 10 minutes away. One of the best beaches with the smoothest and softest sand we have seen so far - Praia da Joatinga is also just a few minutes away.
The neighborhood is absolutely safe and calm, no issues coming back during the night.

Best Margarita I’ve had yet in Mexico! Camping on the beach $8/pp or $20 for a palapa. They have great Wi-Fi! Highly recommended!

Don’t overlook El Padrino! This is a beautiful campground/ RV/ Hotel just two blocks from town. The owner is very friendly and accommodating and just 800 pesos for the motel. I stayed 4 nights and never slept better. Definitely be back!

Great pizza at the cafe. Good selection of beer. Perfect stop after a day on the road. Do not camp here but site appears well equipped and cared for. Very friendly staff.

Very cool place with kids! Not so noisy. We stayed there 4 nights. 40000/p/n with breakfast. Pool, wifi, laundry, playground..:host are very nice.

$6 a night dry camp. nice little maintained camp grounds with 2 pit toilets. Pretty quiet for the most part. little bit of highway noise. nice and dark too a lil glow from Del Rio. access to lake about 1/4 mile down the road. great fishing from the bridge. excellent T-Mobile cell coverage

Nice RV park directly on the beach in the city of Puerto Peñasco. Edgar, the onsite manager, is a great man and is very fair and direct. $15/day nightly or $12/day paying for a month in advance. Hot showers and restrooms are super. No hookups. Make sure to sign up for list for front row on beach upon arrival. Free WIFI outside office within 20 meters. Safe, secure with onsite security. Edgar makes runs to mailbox at US Border to pickup packages, mail, Amazon deliveries, USPS & UPS weekly for $12 per package. Ask Edgar for address. came here in early December 2022. May stay longer but not June July August due to heat. When the Phoenix area is over 100 to 115 degrees. Puerto Peñasco is 4 hours drive south of Phoenix in the Sonoran Desert.
