We did the Madera tren, a boattrip and had some nice food here (all of it highly recommended)

We asked, if we could stay overnight. They warmly welcomed us for free.

We even can fill up our water here.

Nice place with a great view!

The parking is not so flat, but we managed to park quite good.

Just crossed but the immigration “system is down” so they can’t process 180 days. We have 7 and have to return to get 180 days. It means redoing the whole TIP and of course loosing the admin fee because it’s “not Banjercito’s problem the system is down.” And breath and smile. On the plus side they didn’t check the camper at all. All spices and products through. Also no dog check even though they saw him.

EDIT - we now have 180 days having returned today ( next day) and “the system was working) But some backpackers in front of us got 4 days. Another girl got the wrong day number as she said the incorrect figure in Spanish. If you don’t speak Spanish write down the days and show them. Once stamped there’s no changing.

Duchas (showers) not working for men or women. We asked for an estimate on how long it will take for it to be back working and the answer was "we don't know". :(

not wild camping

Parked right no the water just outside the restaurant area. Was great. Phones worked

You can pay 5$/1hour swimming - i just take a long hot shower.

Best tacos we had next to the Ley supermarket!

The people here were super kind and you get that warm and cozy backyard bbq vibe but with tacos. It seems attached to their home and the setting is just so authentic and welcoming!

Very nice resort with posh tent-like chalets, a restaurant with elevated deck overlooking the reserve, an infinity pool, and a campsite. We stayed one night and were the only people camping. Sandy, flat site with ample tree shade. Very clean bathroom with outdoor shower. Only one power socket, in the ablution block. Very nice braai stand. 210 pula pppn for two of us in a roof top tent. There is a guided walk to the waterfalls for 50 pula pp.

This place is a dump. Electricity is bad. Many water spigots are not working. Very windy, no scenery, weeds are the only landscaping. If you are desperate stay here for one night and move on.
Didn’t eat at the restaurant but heard it is good.

A desert campsite doesn't exist here. Coordinates are in the middle of town at a tire repair shop.

O hostel é bem fraco, um pouco sujo e mal cuidado, mas pra quem esta chegando de uma viagem perrengue é uma boa pedida. Tem estacionamento e a atendente é atenciosa. Somente efetivo, nada de cartão/tarjeta.
Paguei 60 bolivianos por um quarto e banheiro privado, com estacionamento e wifi.

Decent place to stay if you need warm shower, bathrooms and electricity! They also have laundry services. Just a bit pricey.
The grounds are cool to look around- school buses, truck, helicopter converted into places to sleep and rent.
The restaurant isn’t terrible, but Ben’s Hamburguesas next door is fantastic!
Also yes, loud music all day but we didn’t have any trouble when going to sleep (on a Saturday night).

You can park your camper van here for 15.000 pesos per night, you may use the shower for free and a toilet for 2000 pesos. The location is pretty quiet to be in the center of the town and we felled save sleeping in here :)

Calle a un lado del de la base de la marina. tranquila y segura. pasamos aquí varios días. La gente muy amable y el lugar hermoso.

Some very useful places in Mall Plaza Norte, 1) ARMAQ, a store that sells fishing accessories, 2) MAESTRO, you will find various electrical equipment and materials to modify your motorhome, 3) CLARO, BITEL and MOVISTAR are the telephone operators in Peru, We recommend you purchase Bitel at a rate of 29.90 soles per month with unlimited internet. In Plaza Norte is the customer service center where you can obtain your sim card with your passport.
4) restaurants, we recommend Siete Sopas, Don maminno, Embarcadero 41, Mediterraneo Chicken, Fridays, Pappa Johns, these send the food to the overlander camping and RV PARK, El Tip Viajero, is very close to the shopping center.
