Nice clean Hospedaje with private rooms, some with private bathrooms and some with shared ones. 03/2023 we paid 35k CLP for a room with private bathroom and double bed.
The place is reasonably clean, with kitchen (you can use everything except the hobs), private parking for motorcycles or cars

Awesome hostel! Flat space for 2 vehicles in a really big, social hostel. It’s the mid-point for the hike, so lots of people, tons of hammocks and picnic tables, pool tables, fooseball, ping pong, free tea/coffee all day. Family-style dinner/breakfast for $3. Access to a room for toilets/hot showers (so pretty much private for you). $3pp to stay in your car. Great deal, we loved it here! Only downsides are their big, loud dog barks a lot in the night, very slow wifi, and there is some road noise starting early. Worth it for the atmosphere!

Proper station + little shop in the middle of nowhere how had diesel and petrol when we went there. Also a bank with ATM 400 m before the station coming from west(where we could actually withdraw cash, the first since we entered Angola from north).
Road conditions : good tar from Seles/Uku for about 80 km, then old potholed tar until Cassongue (where the station is). Pretty good piste after Cassongue, even after heavy rain. 4x4 not needed. Beautiful road.

Still $3pp to camp with no meals, or $15pp for a room with big dinner & breakfast. Big, social hostel with lots of common spaces. They have a little tienda with basics and some fruit/veg. Family style dinners and breakfasts for $3. Loud dog at night and traffic noise early, but worth it for the atmosphere!

We grabbed some groceries and asked if it’d be ok to stay the night on the edge of the parking lot. The fellow said absolutely. Quite except for a few trains through the night. Safe no one bothered us. Laundry a block away as well. Quiet town… I suspect one could pull into any of the vacant lots and not be bothered.

Parking is not easy if you’re not in a small car. I circled multiple times, went inside to get this exit stamp and turn in my tourist card, as y’all have suggested, and the Mexican customs agent said it’s not necessary. I even overheard him telling an American coming in that he doesn’t need to return it when he leaves either.
Waste of time.
You only need to come here to close out your TIP. No FMM/passport exit stamp required anymore.

This is still the accurate entry point to return back to the U.S. All other side streets through the neighborhoods have road blocks.

During the day time, there are a ton of vendors with food, ice cream, snacks, water, souvenirs, and even a guy with a big trash bag to take all your trash, walking up and down the cars.

Gambia - Senegal
Very easy, fast and friendly!
On Gambia side nobody felt responsible for stamping out the CdP, so we just went on to Senegalese side. No problem there, stamped our CdP in.
No questions about money, medicine or anything else. Fast and efficient, took us less than 1 hour to get through both sides.

Cyclist and hikers only. Same entrance as other wildcampspot via 41.21674°S 72.55310°W
While entering the beach you walk to the left side. On the ‘end’ after 300meter you cross the dune of 1meter and find a little and chill beach behind it :) osorno view of there are no clouds.
I was seen the next morning by some runners but they just said hello.

Just been there based on these reviews. We ordered 3 pizzas, one was barely cooked. One medium with a few burns and the third one totally burned. Prices still reflect as below so very expensive for what is not more than a shack on the side of the road. Don’t know if we will try them again. Sorry to see.

No checkpoint today. Just a ghost police truck. Maybe trying to catch people who are speeding.

We came to visit the cave, it’s incredibly pretty even when the light doesn’t penetrate the cave. In the early morning when there is no light it’s very magical but the best time to visit is after 9am. Now 35r pp.
Try the ice-cream at the café at the entrance to the cave it’s super good with lots of 🥥 Coffee at Eliane is also super good.
Everyone is super friendly, parking both at the poço encantado entrance and at Eliane is still free.

Very nice posto with clean bathrooms and showers, potable water and a lot of spaces with shade to park at. It’s pretty calm but it’s a truck stop so expect some noise. Very friendly staff.

This is an awesome spot. But hear me out, you do need low range 4x4, and you do need clearance. Yes, 4x4 is tossed around too often for no reason on ioverlander, but in this case it's true. Scout on foot before you try to bring your van here. You're better off with a small, nimble 4x4. I brought an older Grand Cherokee down here and still got pinstripe all over. At least one gnarly rock 40 feet in, right in the middle. Loose rocks of decent size on the sides, don't trust them. I pulled a high-ish clearance teardrop behind my Grand Cherokee and it was prob the wrong decision, but it made for a pretty good adventure :)

We wouldn’t recommend going here. Edgardo might have discovered that one of our main spring leafs was broken, he totally messed up the repair. In the added photo you can see the result. We had to get it fixed in Rio Grande. Not a good experience.

Good spot to stop for the night, or grab a bite. Although beach at San Mateo’s it’s quite better from Monday to Friday. Showers there too, but these are better.

Absolutely stunning view point on the lakes with steep cliffs. Almost feels like being in Norway. It’s just a 3min turn from the main highway on a paved road. You can park at the street and walk up a few stairs to reach this viewpoint. We didn’t have to pay anything anywhere. But seems like there are casetas.

This area is just amazing and also climate wise a very welcome change with its 20•C in February.

be careful at this gas station and don’t trust the overly nice attendant asking if you are a traveler!! they ran my card for the gas and then said the card got declined and then made us pay cash. i instantly got a notification from my card saying $1,300 USD was charged to my card. we called the attendant out for it and he printed all the transactions from the card machine to show us our card number wasn’t on there but we are pretty certain he grabbed a different card machine. he told us to hurry and call my bank right then bc the charge was for “chip mx hotel” and he said “we are pemex, not a hotel”. we obviously know it was from the machine so we just left and called my card company. They asked for a Camper with two persons (no water or electricity need) 7500ARS. Sorry we are Europeans but not for milking! It's right, they have a nice swimming pool but not really places for hight Spinter/VWCrafter if they have photovoltaic panel.

Beware of weekends! We stayed here on a saturday night and had to find out, that this place is used as party place by local. On Week days this might be a good place for a night. WiFi is available but we didnt find the Restrooms. The Taco stand aroubd the corner has great pastor Tacos!
