David has been an amazing host.
We spent 2 days here. Very clean showers, toilets and pool, hammocks to lay around and a kitchen. We paid $5/day for both of us and the car. Laundry is available for $5.
Parking space is somewhat limited and is enough for couple of vans or small rigs. The spot with the van from the photos is a rock garden now.

We stayed 1 night, good place, nobody bothered us.
Other vans were here.
Cell signal good.
Toilets available but no water.

Beautifull place on the beach. Only on booking, maximum 8 clients accepted so quite private place ! They organise excursions also. This is "glamping": you sleep in a tent but in a true bed. All the meals are homemade and vegetables and fruits come from the garden. Quite expensive but you are in "bubble" in the nature : 50 000 cfa/p/night including 3 meals per day. They don't accept that you sleep in your car here. But for overlanders you can go to Campement de Dominique just close to the place.

wifi can reach up to the nearest cabin otherwise you need to chill at the restaurant for wifi.

Prices all across Khiva have risen considerably since 2019 when most iOverlander posts in this area are from. They were asking for 40 USD but some slight negating brought it down to 30 USD. Breakfast is included, nothing special but more than you’ll be able to finish.

Islam, the son, speaks great English and was a terrific help with some bicycle chores I needed to get done while in the city. I can recommend this place. I think most Hostel/Hotels/Guest Houses within the walls are likely exchangeable, just play with price.

Asked if I could fill my tank and it was fine. Did fill up with gas as well.

Now 250 Birr a night for shared toilet and shower. Owner was extremely friendly, showing me around town.

Gros spot de gravier en bordure de la route avec vue sur la Vallée des dieux. La route est peu passante par contre et des gros camions sont aussi venus y passer la nuit, mais c'est un bon dépanneur proche du mexican hat et de monument valley

Noticed this location has been marked however I thought I would elaborate! We stayed one night and a full day in the "overflow" lot without any disturbance. VERY, Very little to NO trash on the ground so PLEASE if you overnight, do not leave garbage and human waste behind! There are THREE portable toilets on site that were hands down the cleanest I've ever seen at our time of use, aswell as garbage bins and a dumpster. NO EXCUSE to leave a mess!

Cars coming and going in the main lot throughout the evening/day but VERY minimal traffic for being a tourist stop. ( May.17 )

Throughout the night you'll hear the occasional " Thud-thud " of the near by bridge or truck roll by, but rather quiet. Would recommend if trying to stay away from camp sites. No " No Camping " signs are listed.

Steps for us today to exit El Salvador:
-First pass long line of trucks.
-At the shade arch over the highway, a Aduana official checked our TIP and stamped it and directed us into the Aduana area.
-Lots of guys directing us where to go. First through some large toll booth like things. Then we passed the scanner on the left and did not go through it. Then we were directed to park in front of one of the large loading docks where this pin is located. We went inside and the official cancelled the TIP and kindly made 2 copies for us.
-When exiting this area, rather than following the sign for Honduras, we were directed to the left under the Welcome to El Salvador sign, then curve around to the right towards the old crossing (northern bridge) to Honduras.
-Before the bridge, stop at El Salvador Migration and have your passports checked out. They will issue you an exit receipt.
-Get back in your car, drive towards the bridge, right at the entry to the bridge an El Salvador police officer checked everything and took the receipts we were just given as well as a copy of the cancelled TIP.
-Continued on Honduras side!

Steps on the Honduras side for entering today:
-Park on the bridge and enter little yellow building at the end of the bridge on the right for covid check.
-We had done the online precheck, we were never asked for a paper copy or to see it on our phone. Not sure if we were in their system or not. They checked our passports, and took one of our temperatures with a gun on our hand. No check of vaccine or covid test records. Gave us a receipt.
-Drive a little further and park to the right of the entry to the blue and white building. Enter building and go to migration window on the right. Agent took the Covid receipts and $6USD for two of us. Did fingerprints and photo of face and we were in.
-Then go to Aduana on other side of building (still inside, lots of overland stickers on window) Aduana agent came out and did a very cursory check of vehicle. Needed one copy each of Title, Drivers license, Passport, Registration, and cancelled El Salvador TIP. Never even looked at originals. We thought we would be able to pay in USD, but she would not accept it, so we changed it for Lempira with one of the money changers. Paid 787 Lempira (needed exact change, had to go back to money changer 2nd time to get it.)
-We did not get any copies of TIP made, final checkpoint further down the road did not ask for it and let us through with a smile.
-Total crossing time El Salvador to Honduras 1 hour 15 minutes.

A Great Welder . Small family owned business with extremely reasonable prices. I needed to weld a motorcycle rack on my skoolie and he came up with great ideas and was super patient with me. He did fabulous work so if you have a project you want done or need something fixed you definitely want to come here and do it. Mexico prices without crossing the border. The father doesn’t speak English well but his son Eddie speaks perfect English and is a great translator. His number is 956-801-4908 .

Great views, better than government wash! I’m in a conversion van so I didn’t push my luck when I started to hit soft sand and stayed as close as I could. Only dry camper here, not a lot of trash so thank you to people who pack in, pack out and clean up after others. Come prepared so you can stay a couple nights.

Despite both the Argentinian and Paraguayan governmental websites and police along the way saying this crossing is open, it’s only open to semis hauling cargo. This place should be marked closed.

Nice spot, friendly owners and 45 minutes by bus (200 mtr left from entrance take line 10) to Dubrovnik. Good facilities and clean. Stayed for 1 night , 2 persons, camper and electricity for just under €30.

Camping in a hotel with 3 swimming pools. 19,000 COP pp (or 33,000 pp with breakfast) and children pay like adults. Narrow access to the entrance but large wooded parking space. We were able to enjoy the SPA (no one controlled the entrance) but do not know if we had access to it.

Nice little restaurant. Delicious Pizza & Pasta. Reasonable prizes. Attentive staff. We had a shared Pizza with half Peperoni& Hongos and half Margarita. The base is crunchy crunchy and the taste authentic. The pics for menu and prices. Located directly at the parque.

Municipal park along route 141. In front of Lake. Washroom, potable water, picnic tables... Quiet at night. Well lighted. Early morning trafic.

Correction! This place has changed. It is still a hotel/hostel and is called „Aquí estoy bien”. They offer 6 rooms and street parking. The other hotel “QuedateAquí” moved down half a block away from the central park.

I don’t know if the lake is empty every winter, but when it is so there are plenty of places where to park and overnight.

super easy and convenient location for dumping, fresh drinking water and a big lot to park in to spend time cleaning up or showering in your rig before dumping / refill. big rig friendly.

Find this parking lot a cross Walmart in Hawthorne blvd. Seems like abandoned because most of the stores are closed, like Dave Busters.
The lot is very quiet and dark at night, also a lot of trees and shades. Slept here very well and comfortable in my van. You probably gonna see a couple Motorhomes here and trucks at night. No security guards or any signs of prohibited overnight parking.

we couldnt sleep in our car. we had to book a room and the dog could stay in the car. not an option for us, so we left.

Passed by and there is sign posted: "No overnight parking"

2. Get overnight day pass $7
3. Pick an open camp spot off the website and pay $24 w/o electricity, $34 with.
Need both day pass and camp permit.
Then go walk the river trails. Pretty spot.
