150kwpp to camp. basic facilities but nice owner who is very friendly. large beers 20-30kw. if you let them know early enough they can make you an African dinner with vegetables, eggs and nshima for 25kw maybe they cook something different on other nights). perfect place for cyclists between mfuwe and chipata

Very quiet, clean and good Verizon reception. I didn't see any signs prohibiting and another campervan stayed also. Not a big parking lot and not a big store, you can check it out on the map. Nice area too.

While looking for a camp after coming back from the Cañon de los perdidos we found a geoglif (or is it a piedroglif?) which is looking like a unicorn! We left some firewood for the next one who is coming here. The night was very quite. The mountain in the back is looking very nice, beautiful sundown. Much wind in the afternoon but it died down at about 10 on

Gone here without a guide. Managed it easily. From Ocucaje we needed about 1,5 h. A lot of washboard so we recommend to let some pressure out of the tires. Spend a very quite friday night at the “mirador”, the next morning (Saturday) we became the attraction for the guided tours making a stop at the mirador as well. The guides asked how we got here, they were a little bit surprised but very friendly. We left Saturday afternoon after walking into the Cañon and on the track about 15 cars with Peruvian plate were on their way to the Cañon. We don’t know if they spend the night there but I guess it could be very loud at the weekend.
We absolutely recommend a visit at the Cañon!

Slept at the entrance of the road, on the left side when coming from the highway 1, as we needed reception in the morning.

It was a dirt pullout, large enough for multiple cars.

No traffic, super quiet - had a pleasant stay.

There are multiple spots along this road, that all looked pretty good.

Two dollar wash and two dollar dry are the best prices I found for laundry in all of Newfoundland.

Small and very nice museum. If you are lucky like we were the nice elderly man explain all the exponents. He only speaks Spanish but we understood enough and it was nice to see and get a feeling for the size of the bones of a Wale or the teeth of a shark for our daughter. Especially interesting after visiting the Cañon de los periods where you can see fossils or find bones. Open also on Sundays. We paid 15 /s for two adults and one child ( and one baby :-) )

Off the Knoxville Devilhead Rd, there is a clearing of camp spots next to the forest sign but if you go down the unmarked road back to the left, it takes you to a good size clearing with a great view of the mountains with a great sunset and sunrise. Large fire pit in the center. Google maps with satellite shows how to access the spot if you can't find it. 2-3 bars of AT&T

Warning; it's a local shooting spot so there are shell casings all over and some glass on a berm. We also got there on a Saturday and it seems people were at the OHV staging area having a party. it was far enough away but I could still hear the music until 2am. Doubt that happens most nights.

Very nice camping just next to the municipal swimming pool. The facilities seem to be recently renewed and they are in perfect condition: clean working toilets, hot shower,
Barbecue spots, tables and an area with ping pong and foosball. Big rig friendly. $ 1,000 per person and $1,000 for the van. Good 4G Claro signal.

Llantera closed in sundays … looks good but not able to try since we arrived on Sunday

Okay so I am a solo traveller, the guides told me that it's 100bob per person but that I would likely have to pay 600 to cover a six person group.
I decided to get myself into the gorge near the town and walk along the riverbed to try and get there myself. I ended up going a bit too far and coming to an impass with big waterfall and canyon drops.
I went back and scrambled out though and got along the path and down the steps to the waterfall.
This is what I would do: walk along riverbed until you get to the cave paintings marked on maps.me "pinturas rupestres". then keep going and take the second marked path out on the right. it's actually just a dry riverbed with a short scramble to get onto it. then follow the path marked on maps.me which is on the edge of the canyon (I saw nobody on my way there or back on this path, I think most guided groups drive straight to the end). Then it's just a matter of timing it right and getting a bit lucky with heading down the stairs. I set out just before 9am so think I was lucky as I didn't see groups on the way down, only on the way up.
This might get removed by moderators, I understand it's good to support the community but when it's around £72 for a guided hike that's too much for me. If you're in a group just split the cost 👍

Pulled up late last evening. Security was driving around but there were like 3 other RVs and 2 vans parked here so we stayed in the back of the lot. Got up at 7 to leave but we’re exhausted so we stayed longer and got knocked on at 10am by security. He knocked and then 5 mins later just payed on his horn next to me. I rolled down the window and he apologized and just said we had to leave cause they have the no parking overnight sign. He said he’d has to do this every day. My thing is, he let us stay there all night before knocking. And all of the other rvs and vans were still there too. So I’m appreciative that he let us sleep and stay until at least 10am. Your choice to stay or not but I would again because it was a peaceful night otherwise. I’d just leave by early morning.

Potable water and dumping station. Easy peasy

Lovely spot overlooking the water. No “no overnight parking” signs. Stayed last night, no one bothered me. Busy during the day. Walking paths, green areas.

We spent the night at this Puma gas station. It is big and spacious and many hikers also stay overnight here. There are clean restrooms with free cold showers. The workers are kind and we felt very safe. We haven't tried to use other facilities, but they probably have them.

spent last night here.yes there is a sign not to camp ,if u see it, but nobody seemed bothered by my presence.it was probably put there to avoid ppl to spread out "camp", and or go to pee around ! if ur just parking should be fine.as always I never write a useless "feel safe" !! ur in the street nothing or nowhere is "safe" ! they didnt bother or rob u yhat night does not mean is safe!enjoy not bad here.small beach here.the other is fully covered by fishermen boats

Showers for $2 at the Monte Sano State Park campground. It's $5 to enter the park so it would be a bit pricey for just a shower, but there are some nice hikes! Hot enough and pretty clean. No time limit. Pay at the general store / office for the campground

I drove up here in the way to the river sites and ended up staying. It’s a cleared out pull off that had a view of the mountains and highway below. 4 bars Verizon cell. I stayed here for 2 days straight and ONE car in that entire time drove by. We had the place completely to ourselves. Very quiet. No bugs. Could probably rent camp if you wanted, but I slept in my subi.

Free outdoor shower located just outside the toilet block. Toilets are also free and clean.

A farm that offers excursions to their beautiful sites, featuring 11 waterfalls in pure wilderness. The friendly couple Jessica and Allan are building up a site that allows for nature experiences in a fully sustainable way.For motorhomes they offer also safe overnight camping. A good place to stay.

OK for 1 night in a pinch. Great view, no traffic in the evening, parking on side of road, didn't need 4 wheel drive to get here, can't turn around if towing.

Dormimos aquí varias noches. Buen lugar, es seguro, suele haber pescadores y familias pasando el día. Las pratulleras de seguridad de Tigre pasan varias veces al día. Tiene un agradable pasto en el que estar con las reposeras. Nadie nos dijo nada por pernoctar. Hay una fuente pero complicada para llenar aguas.
