passamos uma noite na beira do lago, quase em frente ao hotel. foi super tranquilo, movimento de carros e pessoas, mas nada que incomodasse. não encontramos tomada.

Looks used quite often. I'd say medium clearance, there was a couple big rocks on the drive in and to get to the farther spots you'd probably want decent clearance. I opt'd for a lower spot close to the entrance but the path keeps going back towards more good decently leveled camping spots. The one on top of the hill already had a fire ring made out of rocks with recent burnt wood in it. I pulled in about 4:30pm on a Sat and another couple had pulled in with a rooftop tent as well around 5:30. It's about a 15min drive from Two Harbors and about a 5min drive to Gooseberry Falls State Park. Some mosquitos and flies but is typical around this time of the yr. There's Limited dispersed car camping this close to the shore line but I'd def camp here again!!

Nice open Grassy area that could accommodate a handful of vehicles. No high clearance needed. Just shy of a 20min drive to Grand Portage National Monument and about a 25min drive north of Grand Marais. I came in late when it was pitch black so i was unsure what the terrain was like back through the short trail so i camped at the entrance but checked it out in the morning. Wanted to see High Falls and there's not much for dispersed camping close to it but I'd def camp here again!

Awful border crossing. Crossed from Bolivia into Argentina.
The customs check took about 15 min and was all easy.
At the next checkpoint I waited for more than 2 1/2 hours even though the line wasn't long. The staff seems to be not only slow but incompetend. Seeing how much they searched in their computers and consulted with each other I had the impression they had no idea how to do the paperwork. Consequently, the Argentinian staff filled out the TIP wrong. I told them and they had to do it again. Meanwhile the Bolivian staff copied the licencse plate wrong from their suspended TIP.
Moreover, I had insect bites all over my hands from waiting outside. Aboute 10 each side. My hands were swollen for 2 days. I'm not alergic to anything. If you react sensitive to insect bites you may want to cosider crossing at La Quiaca - Villazón.

Horrible. I don't believe anyone other than owners would write such as good as previous comments
We came in a pop-up camper, wanted the simplest option and had to pay 80usd!!! per night, which is beyond absurd.
The only reason we stayed was we so much needed to upload many Gb of photos to server.
WiFi is slower than average so nothing like serious uploading happened overnight.
There is noise from gas station, from highway, the lots as pushed 3 feet's one from each other.
Electricity at sites looks like 18th century.
Toilets and showers are quite nice, the only positive.
Not worth even 5 dollars per night.
Worst wasted 80usd on our trip since Panama.

Take NF-2710 aka Damn Access Rd (not 2740)

There were a few sites before this but this spot had a large pull off about 50ft from the water and a tucked away tent spot even closer.

4X4 SUV had no problem and passed a Sprinter along the way on the gravel road.

No service
Established fire ring
Don’t trash it.

We stayed for an overnight at the main square named Sesquicentenario. We parked almost in front of a hotel (Montana) near tourism buses that were parked at night. the square has free water taps just to fill in bottles, not for plugging an RV hose. It's a safe spot with lighting and movement but very noisy at night because the square links two roads that goes into/outside the city.

Free Camping! (5 Day Limit). Two of my favorite words. Decent dirt road into the site - 15mph speed limit but most RV’s and Travel Trailers can make it in fine. No tight turns, etc. Excellent Verizon service and views of the lake. It’s a little dirty - dog 💩 on grounds, trash in firepits, etc. There’s a firepit and picnic table at each spot. You can’t expect much better from a free site. LEAVE IT BETTER THAN YOU FOUND IT. Can be a pretty popular spot, but you’re a decent distance away from your neighbors. Lucky I found the space when I did!

BREAK IN ATTEMPTThis is a park just next to a nice mall with a movie theater. The park has a well lit parking area. On the other side of the mall is a concert hall and a residential neighborhood. Due to the movie theater, there is foot traffic coming in and out of the mall late into the evening. It seemed like a nice place to stealth camp for the night while we waited on our pet export papers. At 9:30 at night, with people still gathered in the park, someone tried to bash in the passenger window of our sprinter van. We were inside and already sleeping. The noise woke us and our "emergency plan" kicked in and we were able to scare the thief away before he could break the window. It was still one of the most terrifying experience we have had in 4 years of van life travel. Moral of the sotry?? DO NOT CAMP HERE :-(

Vielen Dank an Hans&Mannschafft

$5 hot showers. Gas station with food, parts, bathrooms, two showers.
Large large parking area. Trucks lined up resting and sleeping. I parked out back, napped. No issues. A good spot for a day to quietly sleep overnight. 24/7 open.

Quiet in my experience.
