stayed 4/21/24, one night in our 35ft 5er & f350 dually. Unexpected festival (Rajun Cajun) on Riverside so thankfully arrived early & got a great spot. Great spot to walk & see all in downtown Memphis. Parking is under all the highways so lots of road noise & trains, didn't bother us, we use white noise/fans/ear plugs. Security & City Police patrol, we felt very safe. We would stay here again

LOTS of highway noise. Decent sized spots, lots of fishing opportunities, and newer facilities. The vault toilet was awful when I stepped inside, chose to avoid that.
Beware: The online paid camping reservation does NOT include the $10/day vehicle fee that they'll charge you for at the gate. I personally would rather have had an inclusive price when booking online than the surprise of having to pay more after already paying for a reservation

Huge parking area direct at the Kitesurf beach. Restaurants and beach bars around. No facilities except in the restaurants/bars (showers and toilets).

Nice and breezy.

Simple primitive camp area. The USFS campgrounds and many of the roads are only open May-Sept so we were glad this road was open. Likely because lots of residences along the road on the way to the camp area. All 2-3 gates were open.

The Last Place

This is a new campground that opened up in 2024! We have six RV palapa sites that are full-hookup (30-amp electricity, water, septic). Bathrooms with showers and laundry are available for guests to use. Each of these RV sites is generous enough to accommodate vehicles up to 24 feet/7.3 meters long, 10 feet/3 meters wide, and 10.6 feet/3.2 meters tall. Maximum occupancy is four guests and two well-behaved pets.

The campground is located in Cabo Pulmo, which is a premier diving location in Baja California Sur. It is possible to witness whales, schools of jack-fish, sharks, and various other marine life when scuba diving or snorkeling in the nearby reefs.

Beautiful, quiet, level spot surrounded by junipers, with views of the desert on one side and mountains on the other. Road in is very easy. Much nicer and quieter than the OHV area North of Flagstaff. Also made friends with a curious jackrabbit!

We travelled back from Russia to Georgia and it was a walk in the park. Two hours, no interviews, no stress and friendly staff. We travelled with our converted van and this is often regarded as a truck. I do recommend passing the trucks and go for the car lane. If you are eventually directed to go to the truck lane it still saves you hours because you cut in line. Assertiveness over politeness seems to be the order of things in nomansland.

Today they told me they cannot exchange a 20 lb bottle. Instead they would fill ours, but this takes a day, so I had to leave again. What's wrong with these gas vendors?!

You can find „normal“ exchange offices like Western Union and the street vendors. I changed not only dollars, but also all my remaining JOD (bad rate) and Saudi Rial (very good rate) by the street vendors. Easy and quick.

Easy checkpoint. We drive a truck but go to carline! No problem for the officers. Quick car inspection, look at the passport and „Welcome to Iraq“. 10 Minutes.

The directions below are excellent. The only detail I'd add is that the place to get your waiting number is the information window, which is the first window on your right as you enter the round office. There is a smaller office to the right with windows 15 and 16. That's not the spot.
All said and done, I got there at 10:30 on a Monday, and it took maybe an hour from the copy shop to the exit, including the time to fill out the form and make extra copies for the next border.
Also, if you have read anywhere that it takes 8 days, that's outdated information. It's a right then and there kind of thing.

Best mechanic in town for big rigs. All other places will send you here. We had a blown wheel seal and they squeezed us in, and called around town for a seal. Advised if they couldn’t get one today then we could park out back for the night to save on a motel. Great people. Haven’t been billed yet, but google reviews say the prices are very fair.

Just FYI. There’s a bit of an incline into the yard. Our tow hitch caught on the way in. Great people here though. Really helpful.

Perfectly serviceable overnight spot with flush toilets and sinks (non-potable water), trash bins, and mostly level pull-through and back-in sites on the camping loop. Reasonably quiet at night. Free. No cell signal on Verizon but we had signal on the parkway a few miles south of here.

Brilliant hotel! Really happy to have found this place.

Secure parking right outside our room for our motorcycles, loads of space for bigger rigs too.

The staff are super friendly and welcoming, the room is very clean, shower hot, WiFi fast, bed comfy and parking secure. It's nicely designed and there's a restaurant attached.

And it's only a couple of minutes walk from the main square! Couldn't ask for a better place in Coatepec, we definitely recommend!

We paid 450 pesos per night for 2 people double bed.

Cheers

Not great for big rigs. I'm about 24' and they wouldn't let me enter the lot due to length. Told me to park in the lot across the street, and I had to be a bit persistent at that lot, as well.
Other than that, it's a super helpful, friendly place.
