No posto há um estacionamento, mas nenhum frentista soube dizer se é permitido ou não dormir, nem tão pouco sabem sobre ponto de agua.

Found this place on maps and figured I'd roll the dice. Road leads through some poor neighborhoods and turns to dirt. Last couple of corners are really tight with low hanging cables. My van is about 10' 3" and I snagged one and took it down. Also 24' long and had to back out around a tight corner to avoid taking down another cable. Feel bad enough as is without doing it twice.
Never made it to the place. Mostly adding this as a cautionary tale in case someone else tries the same thing later. If you investigate, do it in a VW van or a similarly small vehicle, and do it early in the day so you can find somewhere else if needs be.

For whatever it's worth, I'm very used to taking my van into some people's "small rig only" kinds of places. Minus the cables, I'd still have gone forward, but it was a bit of a bear backing myself out as it was. I wouldn't recommend pushing your luck on this one.

Edit: after closer inspection of the satellite view on Google, I think that maps just took me down the wrong road. I think there's a straighter road to get there. If anyone else figures it out, feel free to nuke this entire description and make a new one.

Really nice hike! Amazing Vulcano. Just pay the 35 dollars for a guide, don’t try to fool the locals by taking the by pass. It opens at 7:30. We starting hiking 7:30. Groups are formed a bit later during the morning, I would say 9:00/9:30 if you want to split the $35. Hike took us max 3 hours. We slept at casa Cristal and kept our dog in the van. DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED!

Parked here from 10:30am-3:30pm while we took care of some errands in the city. 6m long vehicle, no problem. Any size vehicle can fit here. The nice older man charged us 8,000 cop. Super friendly and super cheap!

Decent showers for $3.00. Water temperature seemed to vary based on other people using showers, but with valve set to hot I got a warm to hot shower without scalding.
Women's showers were clean. Coin-op lockers for a quarter. Private changing rooms are separated from private showers.

This National Monument land. Sign says Travel restricted area. No off-road travel. Crossed the creek and drove up the hill a ways. There are no established disbursed camping spots, as far as I could see. The 3 sites below the road would do in a pinch, but I have time to look for better.

It says "no overnight camping"
but no one enforced it in late April of 2024. We were late coming out of Yellowstone. we are grateful we got to stay. it's beautiful and even ground at the parking lot across from the camping ground. good luck!

Big pull off on BLM land. Big flat space good for larger rigs. Road is steep and windy but wasn’t an issue in our ram promaster. This site has a great view of the valley below and is very quiet. Only one car has passed in the past 24hrs. There are other pull offs (see BLM red mountain spot) but this one was much larger, has sun, and space to deploy starlink.

Great place! Unique opportunity to experience the Fakcha Llakta community from up close. The village is a lot of fun and the forest and waterfall are great too. I went there every day for a week. They still do a Temazcal every month, sometimes more. Recommended.

To access the campground you need to take another road to the back. I’ll put a new campground sign over there. I entered with a big old German firetruck without any problems (3,6m high, 8m long).

Honest feedback … Creepy place … I drove in & parked on a Monday 7:30pm; 6 various trucks and cars with people hanging around (no vans or RVs). Guy walked right up to my passenger window & would not leave. He just kept staring in after I politely told him I was just getting directions off my phone. I left immediately.

Unlike the comments below (maybe it’s because of the off season), it’s definitely not the prettiest, cleanest or best well maintained campground. But it has all the facilities you need and Adrian is super friendly and only charged us 2000 pesos for two person and a motorhome (not too many spots though and not suited for big rigs). Which is the cheapest of our 5 months of traveling through Chile and Argentina so far. Most campsites or hostels even charge you more for just a shower.
