Very nice hotel with reasonable practice, run by a friendly couple. In my personal opinion very good value.

Quiet parking lot surrounded by wooded area. I arrived late and there was a tractor trailer, motorhome and camper already here. I did not see any security but felt totally safe! No issues at all.
I am an over the road expediter in a cargo van. This place was very nice to sleep the night before my local delivery in the morning!!

We put this Location on iOverlander to inform you that we are hosting from now on Traveller, especially Overlander, Backpacker, Cyclists and all other Adventurer. We both work as Freelancers in the tourism industry.
We have a big house in the middle of the old city centre of Lubango. It’s a really safe place here. You will find everything you need in the city. We can host until 2-3 Big Rigs (ask for measurements if you come with a truck). There is a washing machine, 1 outside & 1 inside kitchen. 2 Bathrooms with running hot shower and we have 1 room to rent and 1 in construction. Just to know that we have 2 children, 2 friendly dogs and 2 cats who likes to cuddle. Alexandre knows all touristic places here, also where you can get help for Car, Truck. Bike. Also there are many good shops, restaurants and sightseeing places around. If there are questions let us know.

Nice place, fire pits, tables. Friday night in May there was one more car besides mine and at midnight another person drove in, so we're were three in total.

Just 1-2 bars LTE from US Mobile, okay for texts, but nothing more.

After a long ride from CDMX we were happy to find a safe place to spend the night. There is space for any size of vehicle. We didnt ask or need any amenity so cant say anything about that. We weren't told a price, instead they suggested to leave a tip. Nice people. Good for a night but not more.

VANLIVING is a family business with really great, competent and friendly staff. They did a few repairs for us and gave us good advice for other problems that still needed to be resolved. Thank you very much to everyone.

Came here with History Tour group and left my car in Riohacha in the paid parking near their office. Stop for lunch here. All tours stop at this restaurant for lunch. Great food & service. May drive my 4x4 rig here and stay.

Back at the truck lanes behind the store are potable water spigots.

Great spot, down this road there has to be thousands of places to camp. Very flat and the trees break the wind. Stays cool with the elevation. Looks like it can get pretty muddy after the rains though.

Late in the evening Security came and push us out. He explained that there is a private area and we could not stay. We left.

Quiet place on the edge of a pine forest. Nobody disturb but a lot of trash. Good for one night. In the town at the visitor center it’s too noisy from the traffic.

Tanzania to Uganda
1) The trucks pass to the first building on the left. There, you arrange the tip for Uganda. USD 60. In the street behind the building, you have to change dollars at the money exchange office (make sure there are no cracks in the ticket) for Uganda money. You pay the tip in the back. Then you go back with proof of payment, and your tip will be issued. 2) Issuing papers to the person with the car scan. 3) Auto scan. Get out of the car. rice and the like are not allowed. Also, there is no drone and pepper spray (we had hidden in the fridge). 4) Building right after the scan. First counter left: Here, you arrange to check out Tanzania (make sure you check in proof of check in) Second counter Links: Visa
Uganda. We didn't have an e-visa (he wanted us to arrange it). After insistence, we
arranged it right away. We paid USD 50 pp. 5) Continue to the next port. Here, your chassis number will be checked. Ready.

Great views with great fire pits. Not perfectly level but nothing to complain about. Great a lot, would come again. Had good service on AT&T with a signal booster.

Nice place to camp, but lots of people in and out at all hours. Why I will never camp here again? Stupid drone flyers, how lame.

Be entertained by the rocking view, and by daredevils taking pictures standing on the sandstone knobs over the cliff.

Worked with British card. 49B fee for withdrawl. Banco Union down the road did not.

Pull thru picnic site, garbage cans. Highway noise as usual, but no signs to say no overnighting.

Large area off main road in front of Cow Patty Rock. Flat, clean and prior campfire. No amenities.

A large parking lot by the sea, about 100 meters from the road, visible from the road. birds, waves, and some fishermen. There are tables in the complex and of course garbage. Good Entel signal.

Decent tasting water and I can be kinda picky. Definitely couldn't fill tanks here fyi

The US Forest Service is in the Department of Agriculture and generally manages forests. The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is in the Department of Interior and generally manages deserts. This is all USFS land.

Kind of remote, but very quiet camp spot along a small lake called Big Lake with a tiny boat launch, in the shade of big oaks. Sandy, freshly graded road to get here with 2 water crossings, but with a firm bottom. They might be dry later in the year. Inside the WMA, there's a gate just before here that is now open but might seasonally be closed. No amenities, weak cell service. Mosquitos abound as everywhere by the water... Go right for the main camp area and left for a few more sites slightly higher up.

Still closed, no sign of a reopening date...

When 25 goes south and 201 goes north towards Slate Creek Divide, 201 turns to single lane, and becomes steep and rough. I met a line of jeeps and they were able to back uphill fortunately. it is possible to get up here in a Class C if the road is dry, but it is sporting and many would not like the driving.
