I absolutely loved this place because I am a big fan of The Lone Ranger and it felt similar to the set of the show. It is not the same spot, but it had a western feel. It is an open ranch with free roaming friendly long horned cows. We left our clothes to dry over night on a line and woke up to some pieces with cow snot and some pieces chewed😂. Leaving the clothes overnight, the moths gravitated to the brown pieces. A great place to run for me since there was a variety of terrain and beautiful sights to see. Lots of trails for hiking and mountain biking. Lots of sun for solar aka no shade. I slept great since it was so quiet. Very little light pollution so it’s great for star gazing. Lots of spots if you keep going down the road and are comfortable with uneven road. Otherwise only a few level spots near the gate.

This is a very nice little place to stay. Only 30$ with electricity and water. Faint noise from the road, but nothing to prevent you from sleeping. The shower/toilet were impeccable. Strongly recommended.

I was unable to find this specific spot. While looking for it in early May I got my car stuck in the mud, so be careful lol. However, this is a huge BLM area with a few cutouts in the grass.

small parking area at park vistor center. They allowed us to stay one night. No hookups but they do have restrooms. Cost was 5 bzn for overnight parking. Cost for park entrance is 8 bzn per person. They lock gate at night but it is right next to road.

Asked a local where I could pitch my tent for the night, in this area there should be no issue if you ask the neighbours. Found some even ground next to the basketball field. You hear the RN9 road but it's getting ok at night. Faucet with drinking water available next to a white house. Picnic tables on the other side of the church. Potentially a power socket next to the light switches for the basketball field. No cell network. Grocery store on the other side of the road.

Just a 2024 Spring update confirming the previous reports & details. A great little park with about 7 flat, grassy spots with access to electricity on sites and water access nearby. Trees provide shade. Great Verizon service here.

I took this off-road with bicycle. Be prepared for steep sections but it is in a pretty good state. I went through the private property (it is just the last 3 kilometers to reach the paved road after the 4600 m pass). No problem apparently. If needed there are some shepherd's huts on the upper part to get away from the rain.

We stopped here a bit desperate and starving. Very nice people who accepted to prepare us a veggie alternative without any discussion. And it was yummy for a reasonable price !

Nice, quiet National Forest campground. Many sites have amazing views of the valley. All sites are dry with no electrical. Water is available by the pit toilets. $10/night, $5/night with senior pass.

This shop installed a rear view camera for us and also organised original Toyota coil springs for our Landcruiser HZJ78.
They also have lights, 4x4 Accessories, quality tires, car Hi-fi and electronics. Super friendly, easy and quick contact and process.

They don't have a workshop so they only sell the parts. But they do minor repairs and they do install the tires. Just contact them beforehand and ask if they will do the installation for you.

You can contact them via Instagram @jal_dealer or via Whattsapp +57 322 9129 741.

We parked in front of the shopping, a very quiet place at night. There is a telephone signal, there are institutions in the area with free Wi-Fi, there is no electricity or drinking water (taking into account that it is on the edge of a street), there are no size restrictions for larger vehicles.

We only paid 13bs to go all the way to Santa Cruz, but we were clear with "solo Ida". Perhaps 22bs was "ida y vuelta"? (there and back).

Two places located 500m from each other. First on given coordinates, 7 dedicated places with fire pits and picnic tables. Restroom available.
Next one is down the road with 2 places, more lonely and quiet.

Fishing available, beautiful river directly by the sites.

Neither have cell signal available.

Do NOT drive via road 223!

Passed by, decided not to stay. Not sure which "ranger" has been seen by the previous visitor. At the website it does clearly contain a camping area, so I believe "day use" relates to the non-camping site of the place.

All places have a picnic table and a fire pit. No cell signal.
Have seen one more car which probably was staying there. The road to the area is not the best, uneven gravel, but okay.

Called ahead to make sure it’s still ok to rv park overnight here. Customer service said yes and when I asked where was told to park as far from the front of the store as possible. We pulled our truck and 25 ft trailer along the side of the lot by the grass between Cabella’s and the car charging stations. A class C has joined us. Nice to be able to use this place during very high winds, plus, do some shopping!

Be careful camping outside established campgrounds (wild camping) on the coast from south of Ensenada to El Rosario. There have been many reports of murders, robberies, carjacking, and sexual assaults on foreign campers who are camping outside of established campgrounds. Local drug use (meth) has become a problem.
