Gravel lot at round about trailhead. Two lots. One by fire station says rv parking. Other has no signage and says nothing about overnight camping. Other campers here.

Stunning lakeside camp with mountains in the distance.
Judging by the small amount of rubbish this place is known by locals.
Be prepared to brush up against the bushes on the approach… it’s narrow in places but totally ok.
Lots of midges in the evening but very few mosquitoes.
A few small kids turned up last night but didn’t cause problems.
Highly recommended site… even for 2WD and bikes etc

We arrived and there was already a large RV and a car. We parked on the opposite side of the lot. We had the water and the mountain as our backdrop it was beautiful. The road is right beside the lot, so there is car noise. It got quieter as the night went on and just a few cars and trucks drove by not enough so we could not have a good night of sleep. When we got up, early morning, there was already fishermen around. This is August and the mosquitoes were plenty, had a fun time chasing them in the van before retiring for the night. This is not a secluded location but a great one to sleep, one or more nights.

Small track on north end after bridge leads down to a spot with river frontage and views. We drove our small airstream in here and had to back up a short way into a turn around spot . Fire pit over looking the river .. wild strawberries were picked and fished the river

Not technically free as a $10 donation per night is requested. There are many atv trails in this area and I heard from the host that large loud groups are common on weekends. A group that partied well into the night were escorted out by the sheriffs office a few weeks back, however. Last night was relatively quiet, although my neighbor has bright lights and talking well past midnight. Didn’t fill up on Friday night until about 7 pm.

Went there and at 8pm someone from the park knock on the door, inform us they don’t allow overnight parking anymore and ask us to leave. There is no sign of parking but they inform us it is somewhere in the web site.
Had to pack, leave and find a new spot.

I was kicked out of here by a cop. He was nice but he said no camping in the canyon at all. Something about the water. It was midnight, I was tired.

This rest stop has pit toilets and wasn't much to look at but it has a brand new (looking) spigot about 30 ft from the building. it is about 4ft tall and bright blue. we used it to fill our tanks and water bottles and it tasted great.

Busy parking area near the core tourist sector and fish processing plant. 2 of 3 parkings near the dump station have no camping signs posted. The one immediately next to the dump station doesn’t. Stayed one night, no issues. Busy traffic t’il 2300 but otherwise ok.

Beautiful patch on the river banks. Very few locals on a weekend, but you will be alone during the night. Shepard’s might pass by and say hi. Gravel road is close but very few cars.

Great dispersed sites. Take the road past Polaris and you can follow the power lines for lots of level parking areas. Far away from I80; so you don’t hear the Highway noise. No problems in our Ram Promaster van.

Just as described! Beautiful park on sacred land. We walked around town before bed and found a little cafe for treats in the morning.
A very pleasant stay and there’s lots of room for kids to roam and play at the little playground if you have children.

Nice quiet camping. The sites tend to be more like cleared driveways off the main Forest Service gravel road, but they are fine. Some piles of old tree parts from when they cleared the camping areas tend to be a marginally unsightly, but the quiet makes up for that. Signal strength varies from 1 bar 3G to 2 bars LTE.

Lots of turn offs in Wild Flats to camp! I went a little farther down the dirt road to find a big pull off loop with established fire pits. A little bit of road traffic because it’s right by a river put in. Gorgeous views of the river on the way in!
