Lots of turn offs in Wild Flats to camp! I went a little farther down the dirt road to find a big pull off loop with established fire pits. A little bit of road traffic because it’s right by a river put in. Gorgeous views of the river on the way in!

Easy Walmart on the edge of town. 7 others living mobilly parked at the back of the lot and it was fine. Big lights are on all nights and signs that it’s being recorded - felt safe.

Went there and at 8pm someone from the park knock on the door, inform us they don’t allow overnight parking anymore and ask us to leave. There is no sign of parking but they inform us it is somewhere in the web site.
Had to pack, leave and find a new spot.

We spent one Friday night here. It was very loud and rowdy - don’t forget your ear plugs. As others have mentioned this isn’t free parking but $10 for 24 hours is reasonable for the location. We stayed from 7:30 pm till 1 pm the following day. Lots of teenagers revving their car engines from 10pm till midnight.

Definitely recommend visiting the free Lake Superior Maritime museum that is walking distance from here.

Perfect. Here on a Saturday in august and it’s very quiet. Saw one other camper driving in, and lots of empty spots that all look great. Little windy on the top of the hill, but east to tuck back by the trees. Lots of space. My cell keeps going from 1 to 3 bars. Fire pits. Sone road noise, but not bad.

This is actually Lady Bird Johnson Memorial Grove. Humboldt Lagoons are southwest of this spot, not sure where the original poster meant it to be.

Came to this spot after passing up the WisDOT location nearby because there were no camping signs. 9 other campers here on a rainy, dreary night, all parked in a large empty field like lemmings. The first post described lovely picnic tables and fire rings, but these were all near residences and surrounded by lush grass. So we came to the field with the others. Pretty quiet except for the RV running their generator (hope that will end by nightfall) and another guy playing spoons. Verizon 4.7 down/1.6 up. AT&T not so much.

Private campground with friendly check-in staff. Many seasonal RVs (local work crews, etc). Dusty roads, few grassy sites. Clean washrooms and showers (free). Some highway noise if your site is near the entrance, but otherwise tolerable.
