The road from Rosarito to the mission has been damaged by the recent storm. It is still passable but you WILL need 4wd and high clearance if coming from the west. Paid 500mx for two of us to camp in our truck. Took a nice tour with José, donated some good coin for a good cause.

We stayed in this campground so that we could use the showers. The showers were so dark and dirty that my wife would not use them. We have used showers along the road in many places all the way from Alaska to this campground and this is the first time she has refused to use the showers.

We ask security driving around and said no overnight parking

I spoke with Charlett, the director of this historic site and its facilities. 662-415-2815. They are currently renovating the site and there is no free electricity available. I received permission to park and she requested that I “leave no trace”. There are homes all around and you will be noticed. I would not have stayed if I hadn’t had the opportunity to ask permission.
Due to the renovation, there’s a portopotty! Cell service isn’t great. One or two bars of Verizon.

Free BLM campground. We are alone here tonight. Short drive up a rocky gravel road, with quite a few ruts and mild wash outs, but we did it in a fwd Promaster van with AT tires, without any issues. If you want a campfire, bring your own wood. Large fire rings, and solid picnic benches. No water, but there are (bear proof) trash receptacles, and a couple of pit privies. No ATT service. Very quiet.

The dump station has a sign that it is closed until further notice.

Good spot. Paid 1500 Arg pesos/night. Trees/shaded, easy to get to. Power, hot showers, wifi near office.

Sorry but this place is now flooded out with homeless. Tents and wrecked vehicles all over the park. there seems to be a homeless food kitchen set up that has exacerbated the situation. My first negative review in 7 years of using IO. we went up to Home Depot and had a quiet night.

Cars seem to be okay but vans, buses, and RV’s are all being told to leave by colorado state troopers.

This is a great spot for CARS. State troopers have been in and out knocking on doors and leaving those terrifying orange papers on RV’s, buses, and some vans. All three lots get pretty packed when ski season comes around so they may crack down even more.

Ready for 2022/2023 summer season! Camping is open until the end of March. See you soon!

Great spot to stop along I-40. Far enough from the highway that noise is muted. Easy road in.

This place is not closed--it's on BLM land. Easily accessible from the west side of the canyon and a great place to camp.

Nice spot on the canyon rim. Quiet and remote, with good cell signal.

parking behind a gas station for free, 200m away from the highway. beware of the monkeys.

We chose site 232, although there are better ones, but we didn't know those "reserved" signs lost their meaning. Fairly quiet (with no traffic after 10pm) for a campground so close to two cities. Paid USD 35 per night: 5 per person and 25 for the site with water and electricity. Dry camping (USD 20?) was not available for a roof top tent. We stayed three nights (total charge USD 105) and visited Dallas during the days.

Beautiful place and perfect for one night. Not easy to stand flat but possible.

I called ahead. And they reluctantly said yes, as long as I parked in the back and stayed one night. It worked for me :) I would call ahead though, you never know which worker you will talk to.

Moderately active in regards to man-made noise. You do hear noise from other RVs or campers pulling in now and then in the night. You also get noise from the various trucks or activity related to the casino starting early in the morning.

It’s not horrible, just be aware of that possibility if you’re a light sleeper.
