A little loud but earplugs got rid of that problem. Sometimes a little stinky if there is a cattle truck in the truck lot. Lots of car parking and very few overnighters on a Sunday night.

I would not recommend coming here. This place has clearly fallen into a state of disrepair since the last reviews were written. The showers are no longer working, there are pit toilets but no toilet roll and no running water to the sink. There’s no food on offer. The common area was piled high with junk so we couldn’t use it. We were able to wash up our dishes in the kitchen but only after we got the owner to clear a huge mound of dirty dishes that looked like they hadn’t been touched in weeks.

There were approx. 5 people who as far as we could tell live on the site along with the owner, no one was rude but also no one was particularly friendly (eg. We weren’t told where anything was we just had to figure it out ourselves/ ask). We were made to feel as if we were crashing at someone’s house and they were doing us a favour letting us stay rather than us being paying guests. Note: we were the only guests staying so might be different if you visit when others are here but not sure. We just felt as if the people running the site had never had guests stay before - which obviously is a completely different experience from the other reviewers so might be a new owner?

Also if you’re staying in a van you have to park up at the main entrance as the path down to the beach is too narrow to drive down - so it’s not really beach side camping unless you’re in a tent. The beach is lovely and peaceful with a beautiful view of the mountains but unfortunately we didn’t feel that was worth the money we paid. You can get that some view for free just by wild camping along this coast.

Lastly there are 3 dogs roaming free on the site, they were lovely and friendly during the day but at night seemed to bark and anything and everything so as a result we kept getting woken up.

We paid 900 som for the night (sleeping in our van).

The only non-flat spot we found on our drive from Beyneu to Bozoi to have a bit of shelter from the wind. Not a special spot but better than in the middle of the steppe.

Lake near the village. A man came early evening to ask what we did, seemed to be living in a house at the lake, likely fisherman or ranger. He had no problem with us staying for a night. Locals come here to swim, the kids enjoy shallow water near the shore. Several similar spots more to the Southeast with probably less local visitors.

The gate was closed at 12:30 yesterday, on-one around. As it was 40°C, and no shade anywhere, I did not bother to try calling the number posted in the window.

Finally received visa after a week. Frist issues were that the online system could not process payments. That took a few days to fix. Once working we did our applications online and paid. My German partner received his visa within 48 hours (we paid for express) €230. He provided Hotel Reservation and Passport and Yellow Fever.
I had more issues as they wanted flight tickets, invitation letter, International driver’s license, car docs etc. took 5 days for mine to be approved. Had to wait it out. Once we received our online approval letter with QR code, we decided to go to the embassy to get the visa sticker in our passports. They took biometrics photos of us, along with finger prints and then printed visa sticker for passport.

Note: No manual visas for Cameroon, online only - evisacam.cm
They will print it for you once confirmed.
Opens at 8:30am till 12pm and then in the afternoon at 2:30 till 5.

Seems to be no more usable : a policeman came by bike and told us it wasn't permitted to sleep here.
He bring us to the "campground" 500 meters before (direction to San Antonio) : nothing but the nice view to the lake, quiet and safety. 100 pesos per person for the night.

We stayed here 10 days, waiting for our Ghana visa, cleaning our car and staff and visiting Abidjan. Private room with private bathroom (hot water) in a nice villa. Really Really clean. Fast and perfect WiFi. We can use the kitchen. A lot of facilites around. The car is parked in front of the house in the street, safe because inside a guarded cité (but maybe not adapted for truck, better asking to the owner Sébastien first). You can book on airbnb or they have website (aristocratedabidjan.com). We paid 15000 cfa per night for 2 personns. Marie and Julie who take care of the house are really friendly and helpfull. Really enjoyed our stay here !

Official Toyota Service Center. very good workshop. I had to change the shock absorber connecting the two front wheels of my Toyota Land cruiser 1979. They had the spare part on stock and made some other small repairs. Very satisfied.

This is crown land at the end of unmarked no exit road. Large open area for any size rig. Area today is about 3 or 4 acres. Flooded low area we couldn't drive through to go more inland. Staging or unloading area for atv ers and snowmobiles. Highway noise.
