This place is amazing. The road is paved all the way down the valley except the last 200m to the property. The host was kind and she greeted me with a hug abd offered me a lovely coffee. I was lucky and had a great view of the mountains while I drank my coffee. The host told me that I could drive my moto an additional 10 kms to the place where trekkers start walking forever the Choquequirao trek. It was a beautiful drive for me and the views just got better. She cooked me a wonderful dinner (which was extra) and breakfast was included. The room was great and they have good wifi and hot showers. The entire hotel looks out to the mountains!!

Nice area with lots of campsites and level ground. The whole area can be windy. Bring your own water as BLM no longer provides it.

Spent 1 night in our van, very quiet, nice houses around, mexican restaurant nearby, the park is a bit dirty but has very good open wifi.

I travel by bike and wanted to avoid the touristic sailing companies to go to Colombia. From Panama City the road just after El Llena is new but very steep. you need to be patient concerning the boat to Caledonia (Panama). I ve waited two days at the port and sleep there for free in front of the ticket office. Restaurant and simple shop opened from 7am to 5pm. Very safe.
to go to Colombia you need to go first to Caledonia (3 hours) then Puerto Obaldia (1,5 hour) and finally Carpugana en Colombia (45 minutes). Ask around, people will help you. Total coast less than 200 dollars with bicycle included.

Repsol service station. Diesel S/16.90 for 1 gallon. Very friendly staff, possibility to pay by card. There is a water tap, toilet, and what to do the tire pressure.

At the Time and Coffee café you can enjoy excellent drinks as well as sandwiches and a potato dish with meat. we recommend. the view of the city is superb.

treasure museum. you can take tours in French, English or Spanish. the price is 30 bowls per person over 10 years old. the visit is nice and the children enjoyed it. the visit lasts about an hour and at the exit you can buy jewelry made from Bolivian stone and silver.

musée du trésor. vous pouvez faire des visites en français anglais ou espagnol. le prix est de 30 bols par personnes au dessus de 10 ans. la visite est sympa et les enfants ont apprécié. la visite dure une petite heure et à la sortie vous pouvez acheter des bijoux en pierre et argent de Bolivie.

Nous nous sommes fait sortir par un vigile du quartier qui nous a dit que le stationnement de nuit était interdit sans autorisation. Nous ne sommes pas restés mais nous aurions du appeler la police car nous etions sur un domaine public.

Après avoir été viré du point Ioverlander 2 rues à côté , nous avons passé une nuit tranquille au bord de la plage.

nice helpful guy. Unfortunately we wanted to have just a Quick clean up of the tires, but next day when we came, he cleaned everything and inside as well what we didn't wanted and charged us a lot for this, ended up paying 2400 uy for it. not a nice move, so ask for prices before! But a good place to leave the car before shipping.

Arranged the trip with Al Macedo (WhatsApp +55 45 99105-9964), he speaks very good English and does all the communication with Genivaldo, the skipper of the boat (Laura Vicuña). Approached him approx. 2 weeks before the trip.
Al was very responsive to all our questions and updated us almost daily on the schedule.
We were told to be at the harbor Friday 5 pm and embarked at 5:30.
Trip was very smooth, got to Porto Jofre after 3 days Monday night just before midnight. Disembarked at 6 am in daylight.
Negotiated 3000 BRL for Sprinter w/ 2 ppl. 500 deposit by PayPal, the rest after arriving.
Starlink on board for 50 BRL

Beautiful camp along the Kunene River. Sarah gifs us a very warm welcome. After visiting many community camps in Namibia this is the first comminity camp where everything works!!!

Most expensive campground we have been in SouthAmerica! (€26 2 persons and a big rig, including a little breakfast). Nice place with beautiful view on the river, with swimmingpool and (very) hot thermal bath.

Exactly as described. We slept there on our way to Poland. Wonderfully quiet 👍

We tried to go here April 12, 2024 - road isn't plowed in winter only tracks were snowmobile tracks, so our stock 4Runner wasn't going to do it.

Great spot at the edge of the firebase air strip. There were three tables in the area so locals use this spot. View of the river is amazing, but no access to the river as the banks are very steep and high. As this is close to town, we had cell coverage.

Beautiful & peaceful! We love stopping at the Pueblo KOA with our rig. The bathroom renovations are 100% done and 100% nice.

Ana made the arrangements to ship our Ford Ranger camper for Ushuaia to Alaska adventure between Cartagena and Veracruz. Ana was introduced to us by others. Ana is keen to communicate and makes things happen. I saw good value in her confidence, port connectivity and delivering a reliable service. All-in-all a good experience.

Ana is very professional and get things done. She made the arrangements for our Ford Ranger camper on a Argentina to Alaska trip. You can count on her are the support team. Her language skills did not prove to be any obstacle.

A hub for Chinese cyclists to stopover before heading up towards the two passes on the Baima (white horse) Snow Mountain or cycling into Tibet. There are dorm beds (Tibetan decoration), or private rooms for 2-3 people. With private or shared bathrooms. All affordable and nice. Some are with lovely mountain views. You can also eat affordable, nutritious meals on site (simple standard Chinese dishes).

The highlight is a massive number of doodles on the wall left by cyclists!

Free permits available at the visitor centre. Just off the main road and lots of spots. No issues in 2WD promaster but it had been very dry. My dogs came across a dead dog out here that I had to call into the police so not my favourite spot to think of ☹️
