As people have written. Quiet setting. RV site booked with electricity and water. This is a very old and tired place. The campground is a gravel parking lot. no firepit or picnic tables. There are a couple if picnic tables under a sun canopy located centrally. The office/store has wifii which works but very small bandwidth, snd slow. $34 for our site.

Very friendly staff.
They have again changed prices which are slightly more then the official website.
In house restaurant, food is decent. Slightly expensive. They were a little pushy for me to eat inside the first day.
Church sister does some friendly guest appearances.
The wifi is decent for the location and africa.
Nice warm showers.
Mosquitoes so carry your repellant.
I got a small ensuite room for 15k rwf including breakfast.

Costa Rica a Nicaragua
~
We crossed at 16hs and there was almost no one, we believe at this hour all the oficers just want to go home, so they are not so picky.
Leaving CR we paid 8usd each (with card), in cash would be 10 usd each.
They fumigated the van but didn't charged anything. Entering Nicaragua we filled a paper/form, we paid 1usd each + 13 usd each (in cash). Also 12usd of insurance for a month. They barely looked into our van, just asked if we had a dron (we don't). Everything took 1.5 hour in total.

We slept our first night in Nicaragua in front of this lake, beside some beach bar/restaurants. View of the volcano, very windy, so no mosquitos at all!! lot of space for big rigs, no facilities but safe place for us sleeping with our van doors open. Just be aware driving on the beach, some parts with loose sand.

Stayed here for a night. Decent spot close to downtown like everyone else said.

A nice primitive campground ($13/night) with a small designated horse camp area and a few separate loops for tents and smallish RV’s. There is a lake with a boat ramp and several trails too. The trees hadn’t leafed yet during our stay and it rained the whole time but it was peaceful and provided a much needed reprieve from our highway-heavy journey. No reservations, all sites are FCFS. Managed by Indiana DNR.

Perfect spot for a night. This Cracker Barrel is at a dead end road by next to a few hotels. Very quiet and felt safe as a solo traveler.

Pasamos 2 noches acá! Estacionamiento no tan grande pero cómodo, un poco de ruido por el movimiento de la ciudad. Agua caliente y baños. Los empleados muy amables!

Stealth camped here one night. Located directly behind Planet Fitness (strip mall) so perfect if you want a workout and shower. Only one or two others parked here but lots of available space. Mostly quiet (after 10 pm after mall had closed around 9/930, of course). Felt safe. Occasional cars driving through to get to front side of strip mall but nothing preventing sleep. One of the backside mall units appears to be getting renovation so contractor trucks arrived and parked nearby first thing, 7 am - no bother at all except the talking and truck doors shutting.

We checked with management at the IHOP, Home Depot, and Walmart, and were consistently told that overnight parking is officially prohibited. However, one of the three was nice and let us stay one night anyway (with heavy disclaimers and the request that we leave before store opening the following day), because we had asked, and because our rig is discrete. I'd say, it won't hurt to ask, but don't depend on these locations.

Exactly as described. Will need high clearance and good all terrain tires as the last quarter mile is all on sharp rock. Wife and I were serenaded by a herd of cows all night. Very secluded in an region its hard to be alone.

Lovely family hotel. 90 Ringgit for one double room for one night. Clean, wifi and hot shower available, soap and drinkable water provided. The owner and his son are riders (motorcycles and bicycles). They were particularly welcoming (we were touring with our bicycles).
The place is on Google Maps as well.

Spacious meadow with wonderful views and tranquility. The lady has no experience with overlanders, but she's very welcoming and uncomplicated. Just ask for facilities.

UZB
Exciting UZB was easy. We drove up to the gate with our two motorbikes. Parked them and got our passport pre-checked. We then drove with the bikes through the gate. We got an exit stamp in our passport and the custom guide asked what we’re carrying in our panniers but we didn’t have to open them.
Fast and easy process.

TJ
We applied for an e-Visa because we thought it would be easier. But since we didn’t get the e-Visa in time we crossed the border without visa. Entering is visa free for many nationalities including us (we’re from Germany).
Getting to the border we got an entry stamp with no problem. We had to pay 10$ per motorbike at customs and got a sheet saying the bike can stay for 14 days. They didn’t check our bags or asked any questions.

The whole border crossing was fast and easy, took about an hour maybe. Everyone was nice.

We spent one night here before visiting Chichén Itzá. We were alone at night and when we came back to our van after visiting we were still alone, nobody on the parking. We had a quiet and safe night.

Good to stay a night just outside El Chalten. I think it can get busy in high season! Not always very flat but certainly doable. Nice and dark during the night but traffic can be heard. Generator is on at night but it’s not near the parking lot. Is a sound in the distance but we weren’t disturbed by it. No water available. Exposed to the elements!

We also drove our campervan a few hundred meters further than the abandoned house, and stayed directly next to the river (although not many flat spots). Road is fine, but you definitely need some clearance. Especially for the last steep part down; there is a nasty big rock sticking out of the road. The next day it took it quite some effort to get up again with out 3,5ton 2WD van, but manageable if experienced. Place itself is magical, super quiet and amazing stargazing.

This is a boat launch. It is a big parking lot with 4 30 foot spaces. It has twelve standard car spaces. There are no signs against overnight parking. Some benches. No amenities. Quiet with some overnight traffic. Great place for viewing stars. It is fairly well lit due to street side lighting.

$36 for a powered site. Very nice, heated shower block. We tried booking and, even though this place is open and bookable in the winter, you can’t book in April! You can, however, just show up. There’s self registration by cash, cheque or credit card.
