There's roadwork on a very steep mountain pass which has led to both directions being covered gravel and loose rocks. Locals have a hard time getting across too. If you decide to pass, only do so with 4x4.

We spent one night here, breaking our journey from Cochabamba to la Paz.Flat area, and felt safe. The only thing,you can hear the trucks passing by, but with some earplugs( the adults) we spent a good night sleep here.

Nous y avons dormis un samedi soir et pour autant, nous étions tous seuls dans le silence de la nature :-)

There is no more a tree in your way. Nice place to start.

Beautiful spot! Several free wild camping spots as mentioned, with concrete slabs and electric for pay for those who need/want that. The local sheriff drove through a couple times, so it felt like this place is well-tended to.

I asked inside if it was ok to fill our tank and they kindly agreed. There is a spigot on the right side of building but there is also one at pump number 3. Fueled up also.

There are several flat campsites in a big area with tall pines. The setting is lovely and feels private. There was road noise from Hwy 3 until after dark when it gets much quieter. The only negative is that is is fairly close to Happy Jack’s campground and there are connecting roads through the forest that the SxS people use — so until after dark there was SxS traffic coming close to our site. I thought we might get to see some wildlife, but not with that racket all around.

Friendly people. Hot and free showers (if you take gas for your car) are really great, especially when outside température is 5°C. Even have heater inside!

Ventura county has changed oversized vehicle parking.
Any vehicle over 25 ft is not allowed to park on any city streets from 6 am to 6 pm.

What a welcoming family. They directed us to park next to the house/ hostel. The whole family were all fascinated with the campervan. Also, allowed us to use the bathrooms and water.
We cooked into the campervan.

On Sunday afternoon we parked outside Hotel Musica and Art and woke up with our rear tyre purposefully punctured.
We discovered not all characters that associate with the hostel safe. Steven at the hostel was very welcoming and shared their wifi and allowed us to use the showers.

Small gravel lot at a 230 acre conservation area on the Missouri River. Parking area is level, gravel, 50 x 90 feet. May be difficult to navigate to via gps, but it’s just beyond the airport north of US-36.

Very quiet night, 2 hunters arrived early morning.

Legal status of this spot is definitely open for 14 day stays, but not obvious on local signage. Near airport land and Federal Levee property. Search “Arthur Dupree” and nature.mdc.mo.gov for details on open free camping in this lot.

We drove from San Agustín to Parque Arquelogico Nacional De Tierradentro this afternoon. Around 50% tarmac and 50% dirt. More than fine in our 2wd Merc Sprinter.
Everyone smiled and waved as we passed. No issues for us.

This is an awesome place. Would almost call it hidden Gem regarding how less people have been here. See picture attached when lake was frozen.

Nice open spot just off first service road with multiple spurs with stone fire rings. Most need 4x4 to drive up to. Quiet. Lots of trees for shade. Can see nearby Mountain View’s through the trees.

Campsite near the beach. There are many trees that provide shade. We came with an overlander truck of 3.40 high and it just fit under the electricity cable. WiFi available, dogs allowed, very friendly owner! Every campsite has electricity and a BBQ area and a water connection. 15 dollar a day for 2 people, 2 days and a truck

Next to the laundromat there are many businesses that are no longer in business. Two trucks are parked here. There’s tons of space and no signs. A Planet Fitness is nearby.

What a wonderful little Gem

A very easy drive on a gravel road that you take a ride on a very well paved looks brand new forest Road

Came cycling. 55k for two persons. Close to the city Natagaima, less than 2km, where there are supermarkets Ara and D1. Perfect for one night, clean, air conditioning, cold shower, wifi.

Water still turned off. Sign says dump open May 1 to October 31.

Nice spot until another camper showed up, knocked on my door and asked if I wanted acid.

Decided to leave :) there were also bags of trash scattered around. Definitely a party spot.
