We stayed there for a night, all good. One camper was there and a few locals came by to walk their dogs. One of them warned us that a bear was apparently living in the area, so we were careful with our food & garbage (there are closed bins near the dog park). Quiet despite the road. The second parking lot nearest to the park has signs "for authorised vehicles only" so we stayed in the lower one.

AVOID THIS TOURISTIC TRAP!
They call it a "market" but you can't enter if you are white and don't pay 5000 CFA per person, to see around 10 little stalls, with a real bad smell of dead animals and full of unfriendly and tricky people that only wait to take advantage of the tourists. In Benin, Quidah or Abomey the market is more authentic and you only pay if you want to take some pictures. Really dissapointed to come here in the first place!

We stayed only 1 night there, as we crossed the border with Ghana in the evening and arrived around 9pm. To our surprise the bar/restaurant was closed already and Sebastian was going to sleep, apparently the place is only open until 6pm. The first comments are confusing in here, we thought that there was a parking in front of the bar on the beach but you basically have to park on a busy narrow street, with no privacy whatsoever. We managed to park, next to an abandoned bar close to Sebastian place but it was shady and dirty also. In the morning, we felt and didn't get to see the restaurant or bar. We don't recommend this place for camping/staying or maybe we had too high expectations.

We took the risk to arrive on Sunday afternoon and it was full of people but… the field is so big we could park at the end of a big grassy field and spent one wonderful afternoon and night. Still 50 pesos per person. Recommended!!!

Trash everywhere, but very beautiful views on the cold lake. Nobody asked to pay anything, although there's a small booth with prices shown at the entrance (unmanned). Many small shelters with table and benches. Reachable by bicycle, had to search a little to find a flat place to pitch a tent.

A few hundred meters south of here was an entrance to an open area, we arrived at night and found a spot semi hidden from the road. In the morning we left at 9.30 there was a guy collecting wood. A decent spot for before or after Tai

As described you can only access the dump or RV parking so I’d not plan to stop there for a break if you’re using the dump.

Santa Ana viewpoint. you can park in front of the Maragua church and walk up to the viewpoint. Walk of approximately 1 km with 100 m of elevation gain which will give you a very beautiful 360 degree view of the Maragua crater which is not a real crater, but a fold of land also called the Maragua syncline.

Great place to stay overnight. There are 3 lots, one at the coords which is off to the side, one next to the hotel, and one next to the gas station in front (good for bigger vehicles). There are cops who will drive thru the lots but they're looking for drugs, not people sleeping. As long as you aren't a being a nuisance they'll leave you alone. WiFi access code is holiday if you're close enough. There's a couple restaurants nearby and a supermarket across the street. There's a couple public bathrooms inside or at the gas station/BK/McD.

It is a quiet road a few kms out of town, but you will be quite visible. The greater concern is that the edges of this road have become a dumping point. we were unfortunate enough to get a 5cm piece of metal embedded in one of our tyres. We can only assume it can from the discarded rubbish. Be careful. On a positive note, the Peruvian boys in town (on the Northern side) do a great and quickk job repairing tyres. 5-6,000.

I’ll start by saying that we felt SO LUCKY to find this place. Our own little lake because nobody else was camping there. We camped on the west side of the lake near the very clean pit toilet. This is an important detail. At about midnight, we found out why nobody else was camping there. The wind started blowing 50 mph gusts, forcing us to break camp. We have a heavy truck bed mattress, which was a good thing, because we spent the rest of the night sleeping in that very clean pit toilet. So my review of the camp spot is a 3/5 (beautiful and quiet), but a 5/5 for the pit toilet.

Thx for the tip to stay on the 26! We are going north but were told it's better to drive back south to Las Lajas and take the 40 from there. Would be faster than looping north from here, so that's what we did!

Very beautiful waterfall, amazing colours. The colours of autumn add another dimension to it. Worth the detour!

Decently quiet night, close to shopping and restaurants and somewhat centrally located within NWA. The parking lot has a couple degrees of slope, but the car-sized spaces directly north of the Bus/RV spots are within 1 degree of level.

Large flat area. Easy access for all rigs. Aprox 500 metres packed unpaved narrow road to get there. If you are unsure to drive the track, park your rig on the paved road in front of the Kaya campground and walk.

Alex’s spot is a lovely place to rest before or after the border crossing with Mexico which is on average a four hour affair. Really great to have such a nice and safe place so close!
