A great hideaway used by locals and other travelers. As described with a lot toilet. Some leftover trash here and there. Multiple fire rings. Some level areas. Water was cold but good for a plunge!

$10 for a 1 hour shower in a private room. 2 people max per shower. Clean, strong water pressure, and hot! Towels included. Pay at the front desk to get a shower key.

If you follow the directions from Google you will find the road washed out. It looks like there might be other ways to get to this spot but we did not explore them.

A few areas to park at nice clean restrooms and showers. No washer and dryers yet but they are coming.

we paid 30 $ for a room with AC. Good price, but the room was full with mosquitos. no chance to kill them all.. luckily we travel with mosquito net.

Superb little food truck; friendly owner, fresh food, reasonable prices, and comfortable seating under shelter.

Camping El Cerro is located in the Mountains South/Central of Costa Rica 400mts off the Panamerican highway, it has good cellphone signal from Kolby which is the main comunication provider in CR, the Campside contains a B&Q Ranch with picnic tables and cooking area and a flushing toilet available to use for all guest, the Ranch has lights and electricity 120v, we have capacity for 6 4x4 vehicles and 2 campers Vans or a total of 10 Full SUV size vehicles.
From the main road is a green gate that is often closed but not lock, then 400mts in a gravel road to a wooding gate of the Campside. Only 4x4 vehicles can access.
This is a family and local own businnes and we live in the property to assure a personalized service, we have two friendly dogs and the campside has beautifull gardens and small trails to walk around the 1.5 Hectares, located near different hidden tourist attranctions. Perfect for photography and birdwatching. Please get in contact previously to arrive.

Great spot. We did feel a bit in everybody’s business. So I wouldn’t stay here for long. But it’s a beautiful spot for the night.

In the morning, a really drunk guy named Francisco came to say hello and lingered for quite a while, then pretty much forced his way into our car for a ride into town.

We didn’t feel unsafe at all, and he was super friendly, just borracho.

Laundry machines available inside the Route 66 Travel Center. Washing machines start at $2 and dryers are $2 for 30 minutes. Quarters only.

Really easy to find location. If heading South on HWY 1, Either turn off before Guerrero Negro at the airport or go through town, stock up and take the washboard backroad. Either way, pretty easy to find. Showed up here late afternoon after checking out to the lighthouse which was too windy to camp. This spot is windy too but somehow more relaxing and there is a beach! No one around and no stray dogs checking us out. Easy beach camping. Highly recommended minus the wind. Did I mention the wind?

Stayed here 2 nights with full hookups at $17 per night. Very quiet with only 2 other campers.

18,000 COP per person return. Ingenious and alternative use of the old railway tracks. Around 20 minutes each way.
Great experience. Friendly people.

5,000 COP park entrance fees.
10,000 COP per tube and mandatory life jacket.
Fun couple of hours floating down the stream. Certainly worth the day detour from Cali.

Across from the boardwalk is a open lot. no signs against overnight parking or camping. no traffic noise throughout the night and very little in the morning.
sky lake boardwalk is awesome too (although flooded in parts)

This is a Harvest Hosts location.
Really cool museum with a ton of native indian and pioneer/oregon trail history. $10 for general admission, other fees are listed on their website
Really lovely paved trail that goes downside along the river! Outdoors is very pup-friendly.

Routes restaurant with a large truck parking. Local food - Chicken plancha or fried or trout all with salad, fries and rice. 110 soil to 5 with a bottle of water and one of coke.

It is a campsite on the shore of the river, it has barbecue grills, swimming pool with drinking water, table, benches and even hooks to hang a Paraguayan hammock. The property has a soccer field, playground, bathrooms with showers and a beach with access to the river.
I don't know if it was because we were there in April but they didn't charge us anything, they told us that we could give a contribution at will.

Español: Es un camping a la orilla del río, tiene quinchos con parrilla, pileta con agua potable, mesa, bancos y hasta ganchos para colgar una hamaca paraguaya. El predio cuenta con cancha de fútbol, juegos infantiles, baños con ducha y playa con acceso al río.
No se si fue porque estuvimos en el mes de abril pero no nos cobraron nada, nos dijeron que se puede dar una colaboración a voluntad.

Road is loud. But I've stayed here multiple times. As of April 2024 the spigots in the yard are working. Bathrooms open 24/7

Took the dirt road along the top in our 24' Sprinter. Found a nice spot with beautiful 360° views. Friendly residents came by getting exercise for themselves and their dogs. Strong T-Mobile signal. Some trash, but not any more than I'd expect on vacant land near housing developments.

Beautiful park with gorgeous views of the mountains. $18 w/tax for electric & water. Will definitely stay here again when the opportunity arises.

There are several areas in this state park to camp- big sage was a FC/FS in the off season (April) we stayed at a basic site with water and vault toilets. $33 USD for non-state residents which seemed steep. Nice quiet campground with only a few others camped here and lake front.

There is a campground here but there’s also tons of open parking around the ball fields. Unfortunately RIGHT beside the train tracks. There was nobody around. Easily overnight.
