We entered and exited the country with the east african visa, all went fast and easy.

As we don’t travel with CDP and we wanted to get a 3 month TIP we took a fixer to handle everything for us.

We payed 5.000 ksh for the insurance (valid for 3 month) and got the TIP for 3 months. We payed 100$, we guess it also includes the Roadtax as they checked in a software the price for
our car. (Landrover Defender 110)

Note: this is not an official campsite. It is a scouting club with its office and as well space for club activities.

We parked our car next to the office and payed 500ksh pp, good enough for a night stop over.

People are super friendly and do everything to make you feel comfortable, they love to have travellers staying.

As we stayed in the weekend the bar not far away played music the whole night.

I was worried it was no longer open but on my way to Texas from Tenn and wanted a spot to stay for the night in the Little Rock area so I didn’t have to stay closed up at a rest area. This place did not disappoint. About 10 min off the I-40 Hazen exit. All paved roads, clearly marked. Go north on 11 to the WMA, take that road to the turn for the archery range. Looks like the area has expanded since the last check in - spots on both sides of CR 122 just after you’ve turned from Fawn Acres. Clearly marked with blue blazes and a sign. Extremely quiet and dark, almost zero highway noise. Pack out trash.

Beautiful spot by the water. Traffic is a little loud during the day, but I didn’t notice it while I slept. Fishing spot for the locals who have all been very friendly.

Price is P250 per person for no good reason. Audi camp just past Maun cost P160 and has much better ablutions. We came late so stayed for one night. No justification for the price

Run by a really nice woman, Cherie. She gives information about butterflies, shows all kinds of larvae, pupils, caterpillars and different stages of the lives of butterflies and moths.

We got to help a bit as well and release a bunch of butterflies into the wild!

Also, she said she's in need of some help and even offered us to stay a night if we arrived with our campervan to the island! Really generous and her passion for butterflies is Infectious.

We went up to spend the night because the temperature is colder and it is appreciated. It's very quiet. It's all very flat. Many types of vehicles fit, including large platforms.

Our stay at caravanna was very nice. We were positively surprised by how clean, especially the bathroom, was. Roxanna is a very nice person and you can reach the city center easily by taxi.
We can highly recommend this place!

Stayed at this place for 2 nights.
Its nothing special but close to Zion.
The road is not too bad and we did it with our Dodge Grand Caravan.
At the end of the street is a sign, that tells where the private property starts but this place is outside.
Really good views

We stayed overnight behind the Shell garage in the designated motor home bays. A litte noisy with trucks, but not too bad. We plugged into the electricty point. There is a sign (see photo). Which incudes stating that the water tap is untreated water and max stay is two hours.

A wonderful welcome by Carina set the tone for this place. Well away from the main road, about 3kms down some good dirt to an oasis in the bush. The reception area and lodge are surrounded by grass and a huge vegetable garden. Nice looking bar and pool area as well. There is a nice waterhole to look at as well. The campsite is big enough for 3 vehicles traveling together, otherwise the campsite is dedicated to you alone. Good ablutions, clean and well maintained. Nice big braai area with water nearby. Would definitely recommend this place for a stop on your way north or south.

Amazing location by the lake. No noise. Nice lake. Huge area. Picnic tables, fire pits, pit toilets. One site even has a bbq. Phone and internet worked great. Great place to rest for the night or longer if you wish. No signs stating that camping is prohibited. Spent one night here and wasn’t hassled at all.

Very grateful to Walmart to allow me to stay. As a courtesy, I asked management who said I should park away from the entrance. Surprisingly quiet night.

The river crossing can be quite challenging, even in end of June I didn't find a spot which looks easily doable.

That's why there is a detour possible with the hills so you come out behind the bridge and can cross it to get back to Hanle

Parking lot 1 is to the left of boat ramp, there’s tent camping there in the grass…we just stayed in our van in the gravel spot and someone stayed in their car along the gravel too. There is a water spigot up the stairs from the camping spots (does not say potable tho). Parking lot #2 seems more for staying in your car tho and it’s closer to the bathrooms. They have flushing toilets and sinks.

Really quiet town…everything was closed by 8pm on a Friday night. Really cute town tho the vibes were *chefs kiss*

Awesome gas station with a huge parking lot in the back with plenty of space and level ground. Everyone was very nice and friendly at the gas station. It had 24hr bathrooms and free hot showers. Great spot for a good nights rest.

We were welcome to fill up here. All three water taps had little preasure. The water had a little bit of sediment (not possible to see with the eyes). So our filter did not work great. If you don’t use filters, no problem.

As described, a turn off off the highway at the trailhead but large and plenty of room for several cars. Several others camped with us overnight, no signs and weren’t bothered. Some traffic noise but not terrible. Good cell coverage with T-mobile, Verizon had 1 bar but very slow/not very useable.
