Peaceful resort with cottages on the beach. A standard cottage is IDR 700,000. We stayed in our car on the parking lot and got a cottage key for the bathroom. We paid IDR 150,000 for 2 people without electricity. The parking lot is surrounded by trees and offers shade. Good Telkomsel reception. Diving and snorkel tours are offered. Good restaurant.

Excellent quality restaurant with Indonesian and western dishes. Outside candle light tables on the beach. The restaurant sells good dark bread (own bakery).

We checked if we could stay in our campervan and use the amenities. Although this would be technically possible we decided not to pursue, because the small parking facility is in front of the establishment directly on the very busy and noisy main road.

Our sailing from Timor took 13 hours instead of the scheduled 15 hours (but the departure was 5 hours late). Disembarking was smooth and quick.

Bad weather this afternoon. Guys at the pump said card would not work in this weather. Stupid me believed them and paid cash plus gave an honest tip.
In the shop all worked just fine, of course... :-(

We didn't believe it before, but we stayed there a whole weekend and there was no noise of any kind through the whole time. The bay is good for swimming and snorkeling. No high waves! And there isn't any garbage on the whole beach. Wonderfull!
But the whole village is suffering on fresh water and high voltage of electricity. It was only 90 to 100 V, which was not good enough for our van, but good enough for charging computers and mobile phones. The wifi is okay but not very fast.
We spent three nights and enjoyed it very much. One of the best beach points in Mexico!

Little hospedaje in the town of Villa Tehuelches, white and blue two story house behind La Carrancha (coffeeshop). It had been pouring down all day and all my gear was wet so I was not in the mood for camping.
Old lady lives in the main house and gave me a private warm room for 12000 clp with a good bed, electricity, fine shower and a toilet. She also let me use her kitchen to cook dinner. Not the most clean room, no wifi and no breakfast but good value for money and I was very happy with it.

5,000 TZS pppn for camping. There is a restaurant (no menu) that only seems to be available in the evening, but I might be wrong. 7,000 TZS for quarter chicken, chips and salad, or 12,000 TZS for half chicken. 2,500 TZS for 500 ml beer. Frequented mostly by locals, this is a calm and relaxing place to stay and does not have a party vibe (a good thing!). A little run down (e.g., the toilets, cold shower) but a nice place. The lady owner is lovely. There is a night guard. A bit far from shops.

This is in the park and there is a sign saying hours sunrise to sunset. We stayed here with no issues. It is close to road but not very busy late at night.

Sigh....
Not sure it’s worth the almost 4hr drive on these roads...one way. We did it in a transit (sprinter) and it wasn’t much fun. Beautiful drive though, after driving the high planes of Patagonia.

Road is under construction so sections are very muddy after a rain.

As golandy said, all still the some. A nice peaceful spot in the forest and can do own short walks from here. We took power from the block with rooms but you need a 30m cable. Showers have very warm water just wait for it as the sign says inside the door.

Great spot for overnight before heading to the park. At the turn from gravel road there are signs no camping and no fire. We stayed there without any problems with 4 other cars. Nice cover from wind but in some places can get very muddy after rain. Amazing view for sunset. In general great spot. Just please if you stay there take your rubbish with you! Leave it clean for next Overlanders :)

We choose this place, as a bit more remote from the parking place were most people stop and park. This spot is very quiet in the evening and no one passing by. Their are few locals passing by during say times, all smiling:) Some on 4wd, some hikers and several moutain bikers. You do not need a 4wd for this spot, but only suitable for smaller overlanders rigs, however we did bring our expedition trailer and plenty of space to turn it around😊 If you have a 4wd and rofftop tent, I am sure you can find way better camp-/view spots in the area by seeking out on the dirtroads😉

All day helicopters from the nearby navy base over the place. Feels more like the evacuation of Saigon in the 70’s than a relaxing day on a beach....

Flat ground. Hidden in the bushes next to the mirador. Good for a couple of tents. Accessible with motorcycles. Vans could park at the mirador but it's a bit more public.
Sheltered from the wind.
