I think this might be the Diego panadería? We went there and it was super cheap. They have many sandwiches, pizza squares, and pastries! Nowhere to sit though.

If you are passing through, you must stop here. It is cafeteria style, choose your burrito or taco fillings. Caution: you may eat more than intended. ;)

I think, the travellers that criticise this campground always stay in 5Star hotels. The place is beautiful, the host is friendly. Showers are great, toilets are clean and the Wifi is OK. You have a lot oft shady space. Water, dumping, electricity and fireplaces available. For a reasonable price. We loved it.

Secluded spot minutes from Cannon Beach. Moderately steep gravel road leads to a clearing with a view of the Pacific. Use a satellite map to see exactly where the abrupt turn out is from Hwy 101, it is easier to pull off heading north, but doable heading south. The site is about a minute from the highway. To reach this site, you take the gravel road up a moderately steep hill, which then turns right and keeps climbing, after about 200 feet from the turn you take a steep spur to your left which leads to the clearing. I recommend making the initial right turn, then stop and reverse into a small unlevel pullout here to park, so you can walk up and scout the site, as there is a ditch to avoid right after you crest the steep spur to the clearing. Gravel road is doable in 2wd, but the clearing itself was a bit muddy, so I had to use 4wd while leveling out. The gravel road past this site makes a loop, with low branches at the back end so no through way, and the loop section after the fork is a 4wd must, you may be able to park on the road itself where it levels out past this site, or at the fork where it begins the loop. Stayed two nights, a car drove by around sunset one night and turned around and left.

Definitely corrupt!
Stopped us (Colombian plates) and looked for something that was not in order. First fixated on tinted windows but when I was ready to argue with the Vienna convention etc he quickly let it go (still don’t know if I’m right with the tinted windows) and focused on the two guys we were giving a ride from Montañita to Baños who didn’t wear their seatbelts despite the fact that we told them to do so. The officer wanted to “help us to enjoy the holiday” for some money on the spot. I got quite angry at the guys and the officer and told them to figure out something by themselves. I had to translate and while negotiating (all in Spanish) I asked what we’d have to pay if we went to the station. He replied “one hundred dollares”, the only words in English he said, as if he had already prepared himself to name this amount to possible victims. The boys had to pay 15 each and he let us go. Remarkable how he fixated on the seatbelts after he probably got the we were ready to argue about the window tint.

On the way back to banos we successfully dodged them by going via the city of Milagro.

4x4 NECESSARY! Beautiful sand beach at the end of the off road pist with no amenities. To get to the beach you'll definitely need 4x4 and shovel for the worst case (we needed it). We spent a great day alone at the beach. Please take your trush with you when you leave!

Opposite the petrol station, on the corner is a large flat gravel area with a few bushy trees to separate you from the hwy. nothing flash, good for a night to break up the driving. We asked the lady in the petrol station and she said no problem at all...... we parked away from the road, it was mentioned to us that trucks come here to park, so we found a spot that wouldn’t appeal to trucks :) good AT&T and T-Mobile coverage
