Great place! You definitely need a 4WD to get there. I dunno how anybody would go down so close to the water and back up. It's steep, and when I was there the sand very loose. Just walking down the trail I was going up to my ankles. Plenty seals, especially past the arch, walk the hill and go back down a bit, they love hanging out on the flat rocks. You'll hear them.

Basic and cheap lodge opposite the main shore of Mpulungu.

Cold shower, western toilet (w/o toilet seat).
Good for one night!

The road down is narrow and brushy, dodgy for large vehicles, too steep for trailers or large rigs. Camping is on a trail that is for non-motorized use and locals get angry about campers due to people using the bushes for a toilet-- come with a portapotty or wag bags. Seems like tenting is okay. Driving on the trail in either direction is not cool. There's talk about closing this place down so treat this beauty spot with respect or we'll lose it.

Great secluded spot to crash for the night. Kept my dog close to vehicle or leashed up to be safe. Pit toilets fully stocked with plenty of toilet paper.

Clean and quiet in the park. A lot of day users at the river.

Two big lots. A little slope on the first one. Basically what others have said before me.

Loved my spot though. Tucked my minivan up next to the trees and the closest picnic table. Stayed two nights.

Pretty quiet at night. Hikers start pouring in at around 9am. There are some beautiful/more secluded walk in tent sites just below the pit toilets, next to a lovely stream, easy to miss if you don’t know they’re there.

Aspen, pine, bluebells, yarrow, gooseberry in bloom, lots of wild blossoms this time of year.

Nice relaxed Beach resort with restaurant and bar. Run by an old French lady and her husband. A lot of local fishermen on the beach in front of the bar and local pub/restaurant close by next to it, so not like the usual tourist areas of Dar and Zanzibar.

Paid 30 000tsh for a banda, double bed and 50 000tsh for an ensuite room. No hot water but western toilets. Breakfast included in price.

Bar is cheap but you must give warning if you want supper our the owner can organise a bodaboda to collect local food.

Rooms were a bit dusty but okay for none night. Would recommend calling ahead so she can make sure the rooms are clean. Ask for overland discount.

Large gravel pull off of East Lake Boulevard. Relatively flat and big rig friendly. Stayed one night here. It’s right near Washoe Lake State Park. Zero Amenities, At&t cell service was fine.

Drive south from Glendive on Marsh Road about 8 miles. You will see the parking lot on the west side of the road. There are toilets here. We parked our car and set up our tents on a flat spot to the north of the parking lot. There were a few RV’s parked there for the night as well. Watch out for dirt bikers!

Decent sized parking lot at a trailhead. Trail seems to go pretty far if you want to explore. I stayed here overnight in my van, no issues. No service on Verizon.

very pricey. showers take a long time to warm up.

Small quiet Lake with space for one or two cars and a tent. Access road very steep.

Perfect place - quiet - we have a 30’ class A - and there was plenty space.

This is a very quiet spot at 7,800 ft. The spot I stayed was pretty far from the pavement with a little rough road at the end, but there are spots closer to highway 84 if you don't want to go that far. I went up over the top of the hill so I could get cell reception. 1 bar of Verizon, but it was a good bar with internet and reliable voice. If you don't go up over the top there is no cell reception at all.

120 for a large basket without ironing. Large place with machines (not hand-wash) Dropped off just before closing and picked up 5pm next day. No complaints.

Good shade all day, if you move around the lot. Quiet during the week. There are a few fire rings and some trash.

Diesel mechanic. I have an International skoolie. Jay answered the phone at 6:45am and was very cheerful. He was extremely busy but took me in right away. Honest shop.

Street parking on a pretty busy road, adjacent to a park. The actual parking spots for the park itself close at 11pm, but the street parking seems to have no restrictions. Traffic slows down after 10:30 pm.

Park manager (male counterpart) let us crash for $10/night to dry camp. stayed a few days. Stayed an extra night and the female counterpart charged us $15. Bathrooms were ok, safe spot to crash

Bozeman fairgrounds. $5 for water from an orange hydrant style hose bib between blacktop and street. pay at the little shack that is west of the fill.

also I stopped here after 4or5pm when the office was closed and didn't have to pay. 2nd time I visited was 2pm and did pay.

Nice campsite, waterhole, staff very friendly. 10$ ppn 50% for childrens under 12

Free dump station on left side of gas station. Water is available, but need to key from 7/11 to unlock. As a bonus, lowest fuel price in the area.

July 2021, overnighted, lots of noice, car alarms going off, wasn’t till i shone my flashlight around realized the masked little four leggers were having a heyday sitting on a pretty expensive car 2 down…

Super nice spot. Stopped there to stretch my legs and decided to spend the night. Couple other campers were there. Amazing view. Quiet at night. Bathrooms are clean.

Stayed at a spot up the forest road from this. There are a handful of spots but the road sucks and there’s a lot of trash. Next time I’ll pay for a site.

Off 90 a short distance along NF road. Site drops off from road and will require 4wd when wet or high clearance when dry. level Site with a short walk to creek.
