MyDva | Stayed there for a night with our minivan. Three huge RVs and a couple of camper vans were there. Nice place, huge gravel/dirt area. Seems popular for quads but pretty calm in the night. Don't miss a bit hidden turn. |

We were going to Santa Teresa, so named and famous for all but the truth a fiasco, it is not a beach suitable for the Vanlifer, it is a chaos traffic, there are no public downs where you can reach the car. Convenient to go during the day and back to sleep in Malpais. At this point you are only. There are only some locals home near and hotel on the road. There are no facilities but it was sure. A few meters passes a river of fresh water to catch water not suitable for consumption but if you need to wash something or get the sea salt well |

glozar75 | Good mechanic, José Morales. He repair our van very quickly and did a good job. The place is next to the parts store, and is no problem to get all he need to change. Good relation price/quality. Is placed in San Francisco St and Coquimbo.

machnevaelena | A two-car spot on the river bank. Only one spot is flat. Easy to access. There are no view and it is bushy. We came in late and just stayed to sleep. Lots of mosquitos. 10 mini tree s form Becker lodge |
Riverside | 53.22696, -121.42140
Shannon Lee | This is a great FREE spot but busy when we were there. Sites filled up pretty quick but there is a large parking area at the very front that has a fire pit if you are desperate. It is 2 miles past the official campground so if you try there first and have no luck you can keep going down the road. Folks drive a bit recklessly down the gravel/washboard road so be careful at night. There was a pit toilet but it was closed which was inconvenient, no picnic tables and no garbage cans. The river is awesome and there was a buck right next to our trailer when we woke up. |

Calderescapes | This is very close to the Walmart where you can only swap bottles but here you can actually get your own bottle filled. Saved us $10 over the exchange. |
Country Depot | 44.16210, -79.82783
aghome | It would be a nice place if the visitors would take the waste at home and buried their excrements !! Not like currently arround the campplace full of paper and shit. |

mypinkbumper.com | It was only us camping - whole henties was dead quiet. Paid 300 for two cars and two people. Great shower! Good pressure and nice & hot. We’ve been lucky with eastwind so it was nice and warm. Looks like a desert camp. But that’s henties :-)) |
Buck's Camping Lodge | -22.11192, 14.28180
BigGreen | After many nights of bushcamping and guesthouse rooms, it was a pleasure to stay at a "real" campsite again, at a reasonable price (150 kw ppn) and even with bar and restaurant. We left twice and came back twice after getting supplies and spare parts in Chipata, and stayed for 3 nights in total. Friendly senior owners, staff and dogs, and good cooking (everything cooked fresh when ordered). Also a place to meet other travelers, even in these times... |

teal.bowden | Such a gem of a spot. This section of coast seems to be the last of free and beautiful roadside parking. We saw a bunch of people parked along the coast here, just be careful not to park in any of the official park viewpoints. Don’t be scared to pick any of the spots along the highway though, they are all great! |
Oregon coast north of Brookings. | 42.18138, -124.36017
Alika | Great place! You definitely need a 4WD to get there. I dunno how anybody would go down so close to the water and back up. It's steep, and when I was there the sand very loose. Just walking down the trail I was going up to my ankles. Plenty seals, especially past the arch, walk the hill and go back down a bit, they love hanging out on the flat rocks. You'll hear them. |
Sea Lion Arch Cove | 28.24356, -114.11288
h_wuensche | Basic and cheap lodge opposite the main shore of Mpulungu.

Chela Moche Guest House | -8.76194, 31.11262
Bobrob | The road down is narrow and brushy, dodgy for large vehicles, too steep for trailers or large rigs. Camping is on a trail that is for non-motorized use and locals get angry about campers due to people using the bushes for a toilet-- come with a portapotty or wag bags. Seems like tenting is okay. Driving on the trail in either direction is not cool. There's talk about closing this place down so treat this beauty spot with respect or we'll lose it. |
Slocan Lake (near Rosebery) | 50.08913, -117.46281
raschreder | Great secluded spot to crash for the night. Kept my dog close to vehicle or leashed up to be safe. Pit toilets fully stocked with plenty of toilet paper. |
Blackwell Horsecamp | 39.01700, -86.38840
chris_marks85 | Clean and quiet in the park. A lot of day users at the river. |
Wildwood conservation area | 43.26774, -81.06291
greergarious | Two big lots. A little slope on the first one. Basically what others have said before me. Loved my spot though. Tucked my minivan up next to the trees and the closest picnic table. Stayed two nights. Pretty quiet at night. Hikers start pouring in at around 9am. There are some beautiful/more secluded walk in tent sites just below the pit toilets, next to a lovely stream, easy to miss if you don’t know they’re there. Lots of gorgeous hikes!

mattwilliamdalton91 | Nice relaxed Beach resort with restaurant and bar. Run by an old French lady and her husband. A lot of local fishermen on the beach in front of the bar and local pub/restaurant close by next to it, so not like the usual tourist areas of Dar and Zanzibar. Paid 30 000tsh for a banda, double bed and 50 000tsh for an ensuite room. No hot water but western toilets. Breakfast included in price. Bar is cheap but you must give warning if you want supper our the owner can organise a bodaboda to collect local food. Rooms were a bit dusty but okay for none night. Would recommend calling ahead so she can make sure the rooms are clean. Ask for overland discount. |

elewy01 | Large gravel pull off of East Lake Boulevard. Relatively flat and big rig friendly. Stayed one night here. It’s right near Washoe Lake State Park. Zero Amenities, At&t cell service was fine. |
Large Gravel Turn Off | 39.23555, -119.76945
austin_smith | Drive south from Glendive on Marsh Road about 8 miles. You will see the parking lot on the west side of the road. There are toilets here. We parked our car and set up our tents on a flat spot to the north of the parking lot. There were a few RV’s parked there for the night as well. Watch out for dirt bikers! |
