Very nice camping with outstanding infrastructure and great cost-benefit. Very well located, near Capitolio downtown, but with an awesome country house atmosphere. Lots of flat, green areas with water and electricity points spread all over the place. Also has a pool with awesome view to the mountains.

South Meadows Road primitive roadside campsites. Seventeen total sites on road, mostly tent sites with roadside parking. A few sites can accommodate trailers or vans with NO slide outs up to 23’ max. Be prepared to arrive early in the day if you are long or are a truck/trailer combo. Rough road that can be cleared with careful driving by any standard vehicle.

We stayed here for just 1 night whilst passing through but if we didn’t have another appointment, we would have definitely stayed longer. Really beautiful view, very clean and well maintained grounds. Still 50pesos per person. The owner was not there when we arrived but there was a phone number to call on the gate. (771-359-1852). He answered the call right away and cycled up to open up for us. Then left us to it. A very peaceful night and the kids playground was amazing! Note that the road up is not big rig friendly. It‘s tight and steep. But if you’re a tall truck camper like us, you should be fine!

I was headed for the spot listed at Garnet Hill tonight but it was getting late and I didn’t want to risk it being an iffy spot. I noticed this pull off on the way and there are a TON of options for dispersed camping (tent or small RV/Van)!

The wind does not seem like it is going to stop and that’s what makes this place even better: it has a TON of bushes to somewhat shield you. Setting up my tent and crawling around, I realized that the sandy ground, which appears hard and is packed down, is actually incredibly soft. No facilities are here so this will be another spot where Leave No Trace principles must be followed. I have a solid 2 bars of Verizon LTE as well. I’m the only one here for the night, so it is quiet and a great place to see the stars!

I would definitely try to come in on Pole Canyon Rd. as it looks pretty established compared to whatever road Google Maps took me in on (no good for my low-clearance Honda Fit, but I made it work). It looks like a bunch of different dirt roads are around so feel free to go a different way if you have the vehicle for it!

We pulled in late after dark, there’s a small grass spot and the big one. The gate was closed to the big one so we just slept in the small one but I’m the morning we noticed it was locked with only a carabiner so we could have went, the river was beautiful in the early fall morning

As described. Text the number to get permission and be sure to pay! Parking lot not level, but not terrible if you park in the right spot without levelers.

Totally worth the $10 considering other options in the area! Perfect jump point for RMNP.

Great spot along a gravel forest road. I had no problems getting there with my Promaster and I saw a few small cars driving as well. Only saw a few cars driving up and down the road each day. As another reviewer mentioned, Google doesn't recognize this part of the road. When you come to the sign for Apple Orchard Falls pointing straight and Google tells you to go left, GO STRAIGHT! Then, as mentioned, there are 3 spots with a fire ring and pull offs all along the road including the paved area at the front. Once on the gravel, the 3rd spot has a creek view, the other 2 don't but you can hear it and access it via little pathways!

Permanently closed in rumors that the owner died. It is locked with weeds growing all over the inside.. I drove around the block into the east Cesar Marea Hotel & Public Parking for FREE and better location too. This was a great option because due to the pandemic bit of the hospitals and RV parks in La Paz are closed. I only option was to spend $20 at the pension Baja hotel down the 10 min east.

Wohnmobilstellplatz der Stadt, 7€ pro Nacht.
I parked there with my roof top tent, it seems nobody bothered. In the evening, people come to select the fee and give you a receipt to place at the windscreen.
No facilities (besides a bin to dump trash) but a pretty place right next to the river on a grassy ground.
You might see some ships on the water, and there is nothing like a fence - a little road passes right by and people go there for a walk. Somewhere near by, trains are driving. This an the main road, you hear especially starting in the morning.
The place was quite full, but everyone was nice and we spent a good night there.

90 rand per person per night to camp, free secured parking while you hike to the Mweni Pass, nice clean abulutions. gas showers, very hot. 250 per person per night to stay in the rondavels. Has a well-stocked kitchen. It's maybe not up to the standards of the silver spooners but we enjoyed our stay.

you'll make it either way, but the road is a bit smoother to the south of the lake (meaning don't cross the banana bridge if coming from Bergville).

hiking permit is 60 rand per person per night.

we managed the loop (mweni/rockeries passes) in one very long day. they reckon you should hike with arms or in larger groups. we were two unarmed people. we didn't have any troubles but we didn't feel safe to sleep in the caves. there is 5km of road on either side of the loop hike. you can shorten your day by arranging a ride. we didn't and felt pretty insecure walking the last 5km after sunset... maybe we were just paranoid.

Spent 2 nights here. Didn’t stay at the exact spot but on the same road. Had a limited amount of T-Mobile but enough to stream Netflix. There is a trashcan and vault toilets at the end of the road but I didn’t use either so I don’t know the condition. Not super busy area but fishermen pass in there truck about once every 2 hours on the weekday I was there. A few people walking their dogs but not many. This is National Forrest land.

Easy to find, harder to get to the place. A heavy silvery metal gate with chain must be opened. Chain away, lift bolts on the ground and open the gate. The owner lives on the premises and in the evening he is safely on site. PLACE at the moment a bit orphaned, but owner very nice and helpful. Even drove us to San Luis Potosi and picked us up again. Large area suitable for all RV, with electricity, water, hot shower (preheat) and good WiFi. Laundry 5 min. away.

Public beach parking, shower with hose great for water fill and a rinse. Nice bathroom. No overnight camping but with the ocean view, night lighting and trash this spot was perfect for a short recharge.

As mentioned, a great spot to stop for the night. Really nice lake front view. Couple vehicles came to the lot in the evening, stayed for a few minutes and left. Didn’t bother us since it’s a large parking lot. Quiet at night and just a minute off the highway.
