Long stretch of beach with plenty of room for cars/big rigs. Right along the main road. Fair amount of traffic but gets quieter at night.
The rangers at Polihale told me to go here. No issues.

Closed, gate is locked. No information signs at all. Looks like a nice place though. They seem to be making some updates to the area...restrooms and new lighting. Alas, it must be closed for the season. Rough road for a few miles getting to it and no room to turn a trailer around at the gate.

Nice new hotel just outside of town. They gave me a room for a discounted 100,000 shillings - very nice en suite, clean, bright and comfortable room. Pool still under construction but will be ready by December. Restaurant serving a broad selection of dishes local and international. The owner is happy to welcome overland trucks and accommodate them. Owners can also help organise transport to Murchison Falls park for those like me, without their own wheels from here or their Masindi hotel. Charged me 230,000 from Masindi to the park and then 250,000 from the park to here in Hoima. Really helpful staff.

Really enjoyed a couple of nights here. Stayed in safari tent which had twin beds for $35 per night. Camping is $8 per night. It was quite busy but personally I really enjoyed that after months of very quiet sites during Covid! Nice bar and restaurant with communal fire area in the evening. Braai facilities for cooking - bring your own wood. New manager is making lots of little improvements and really cares for the staff and clients.

Level area in the dry river bed next to a tree. It's windy and visible from the road but you can go up further. We arrived late afternoon and left early. Saw some distant lights so we kept ours off and were not disturbed. Peaceful and lovely starry sky.

This place is special. The view is stunning at every angle. The road is rough but doable. Maybe not for a large RV though. A van might make it but it will take you awhile and you’ll need to go off road a bit. I only saw a hand full of people and everyone is just out enjoying themselves.

Spacious gravel lot with one light post, but more than dark enough. One other vehicle spent the night on the other side of the lot, but no one bothered me. Super quiet as well, great spot to park up for the night.

Lovely quiet little park on the lake. We visited in early Nov so only 4 other campers here which made it peaceful and relaxing. We booked the site online (#11) and we’re pleased to find a little fire ring, picnic table, grill, and lantern stand with food prep bench, quite the setup! (In addition to the regular amenities of power and water hookups at the site.) Plenty of room for our van and 7x12 trailer to back into the space. Would come back if our travels bring us near Sallisaw, OK again.

Convenient overnight spot in well lit lot that is patrolled. 24hr access to Casino with clean bathrooms was a plus. The RV/truck area (no lights) is close to the main lot and entrance and has a grassy area with waste bags for pets. We parked at the edge of the main lot and were not disturbed. Music is piped out from the casino 24/7 and audible but not too bad.

This spot wasn’t very level for us in our camper van. Seemed like it would be better if you had a jeep or something small to navigate the space a bit and maybe pitch a tent. We drove up the road just minute or two to the intersection and there was a nice level pull out there on the left side. Spent a quiet night, but lots of litter unfortunately.

of the 3 shaded areas, only 1 had branches high enough to park my van under. A nice spot to be on a hot Texas afternoon. There is some traffic noise but not too bad. Great T Mobile cell service, better than at the Walmart I was at last night.

Very nice place to camp, they only open from November to March and we got here first day of November. They didn’t expect people so soon so many of the amenities weren’t ready but after a couple of days everything was in order. They have a big pool, a reasonable priced restaurant for breakfast and snaks, and access to a beautiful beach that normally there’s no one around. They let us set our tent in an RV spot so we had food shade, electricity, a sink and fairly good space. The owners are Canadian and also most of the people staying here so fairly friendly community. Probably late November is the best time to arrive.

Spent one night here, had the place to ourselves. It was the perfect secluded night after a busy Cabo weekend. Decent surf with a southern swell, but a bit rocky. Road to this spot can be accessed by any vehicle, just don't get too close to the water, sand gets mushy. Lots of dead urchins on the beach so heads up if you're gonna swim

No problems parking and sleeping here overnight. Did not connect to wifi. 3 bars LTE.

There were several RVs and vans parked on Bryant Street, 1/2 a block away but I stayed in front of library. Very well lit area.
