cloverman525 | A large campground that is equivalent to a small town. Seems a bit more peaceful in the off season, I could picture this place getting really full & loud in regular season. Paid $20.50 online beforehand, off season prices. Best wifi-Campground store

vermonsterrv.com | Pretty, quiet beach around the point from Sanispac. From here you don't hear the trucks from the highway. 200 pesos for a palapa. Garbage and bucket toilet available. You can walk a ways north to the point that you can see in the distance. The afternoon winds can kick up here. If you're going kayaking out to the islands it is best in the morning. Enjoyed this place and it is more attractive on land than Sanispac in our opinion. |

N0mad87 | Great spot to camp at. Pretty lake. Totally quiet in November but may be noisier with fishermen and their boats in the summer. Had no problems getting it, the designated campsite is directly to the right of the boat launch in the grass |

qq12q | FYI Didn’t see a military base. We were in route to La Gringa but it was getting dark so decided to stay here for the night. Right on the beach and quite except for a few dogs in the distance. Short but wash board road to the site. Hard to believe this land doesn’t belong to someone. |

jadesix | We stayed in the large flat lot down past the first camping area you come to that has a handful of designated sites and pit toilet. The lower lot was nice and quiet, except it’s deer season and there was some noise from hunters who showed up that night and set up camp in the grassy area at the end of the lot (and fired off a gun), and hunters who showed up early the next morning and parked right behind us for some reason, when there was only one other vehicle besides us in the whole big parking area. Those were minimal disturbances, though, and it was a great spot to stay over for a night. There are 2-3 additional camping areas in the conservation area, too. Whenever you come into the conservation area on RB, you can go left (where we went to camp), right, or straight, and find small camping areas down each road. We toured the others before we left and the others were all full of hunters who were camped. The big lot found by turning left off RB was the least populated while we were there. |

Lost Reception | Nice backpacker place with some campsites next to the river. Restaurant is beautiful and prices are affordable. We payed 160r for 2 persons and our 4x4. Unfortunately some guests where a bit drunk and loud during the night. Otherwise very nice place. Wifi was available at the restaurant. |

Nomadic_Hagrid | As already mentioned, Mike (Sparky) is an excellent host. His wife (Hope) and him have built a great place for overlanders amongst the vineyards; built by overlanders for overlanders. Mike is extremely knowledgable about the region and can give you great advice. If you’re more outdoorsy, either he or his family can share some local trails for cycling, running or walking (we’re sure there are other hidden talents in this awesome family, too!). |

jinshui | There are uniformed security guards circling the entire salt marsh factory area in ATV. One young man in particular asked for bribes to camp. Very rude and threaten to call the cops on us. There are plenty of spaces and spots and we were on the main Streets, not the parking lots. We moved several times but he claimed everything is his ‘territory’ including all the spots listed nearby on iOverlander and we have to get out unless we pay his bribe. The cops eventually showed up but left us alone as this was considered ‘private land” - belonging to the salt factory. We didn’t want to deal with the guard who started shouting at us so we left. Please do not condone his behavior by giving him money as he was apparently fishing for easy money. We should have reported him when his supervisor showed up.

jinshui | Owner is very kind, let us stay overnight and chose not to charge us.he usually charges 50-100p/ night. We left him some treats for his grandkids as a token of appreciation. Large orange grove, very peaceful. Truck / highway noise died after certain hours near midnight. Beautiful sunset. Felt safe. It’s a little outside town. Great place to break your journey .no amenities. Big rig no problem turning around. The other hotel in town is also named Galopeado- and the lady charges 50p for parking inside their compound . However, no way can a big rig enter. |
