A safe and nice place to spend the day or overnight. The kiosks were closed while we were there, so the toilets weren't available.

Stayed here two times.
First time everything all right , slice of paradise with nice surf in front. Friendly tourists and locals come for a chat.
Second time we met the US guy.... Starting shouting right from the start, so didn't really fancy a talk in this way. Troubled soul indeed. We left for another place, not interested in any yes/no arguments with this monkey. First time we met anyone like this in 16 months of camping.

off Lovell Canyon Road on public land. road is pretty Rocky and high ground clearance vehicle may be needed, depending on how much you like your oil pan, I'd guess.

An absolutely lovely stop. We stayed here for 4 nights before crossing into El Salvador, and the owners were extremely welcoming. They offer good food and drinks (non alcoholic) at all hours of the day, and medium speed wifi. We were welcomed to use their quads and air-conditioned "movie room" (a converted van) all for free. Cold showers and clean bathrooms. The gates are closed at night so it feels very safe. Make sure to give them a donation at the end to thank them for their hospitality, and say hi to their adorable mini chihuahua Todo (Toto?), he's so so sweet.

The place is beautiful. Do not listen to what people are saying about Google reviews. The place is very well maintained, and really super pretty, at the foot of the mountains with a great view. There are basins at any temperature. The water is turquoise and natural. There is the opportunity to make Tyrolean, but I do not know the price. The parking is 300pes, the entrance is 800 pesos per person and the locker is 100pSos but with a deposit of 100 more than we give ourselves at the end of the day. We spent the day it was really nice! They give you a bracelet at the entrance and you can enter and go out as you want, restaurants in front of attractive prices with good food. It's worth the detour

I wouldn’t call this an RV but more of a parking lot. We rolled in because I was sick and was wanted lots of hot water to soak in. They gave us a rustic room with maybe 6 beds in it and a nice shower with plenty of warm water. Had several meals at the restaurant. Enjoyed talking to the kids. Kind of felt like the adopted us. Very friendly, very affordable. Our room with RV parking, 4 meals, 4 sodas, a beer and 2 candy bars came to 800 pesos.

Rolled in late, tired and cold so got lazy and meant to put the registration slip in the dropbox in the morning. Volunteer caretaker came by at 7am to gently remind me, followed by a park ranger who would've ticketed me if I didn't have the completed paperwork in my hand. So don't be sloppy like me and get that form done upon arrival.

$22 with good bathrooms and a great vista

Beautiful campsite! Private ablutions (shower, toilet, sink) which gets cleaned every day! 4x4 trail is very beautiful but the sand is very deep (be mindful). The lodge itself is not great. The game drivers are nice, but the pool is dirty, WiFi is slow and everything looks a little shabby. But staying at the camp site is amazing! No fresh drinkable water though!

We did not stay at these exact coordinates as someone else was there, so we turned around and parked a bit down the road where there was a drive to park. We had intended to stay only a few days but ended up being there for a week. Lots of land to explore. It was quite and we had cell/hot spot service. The roads are very washboarded out, but we went slow and we're fine!

We stayed here after we could not reach Playa Morillo due to the extremely muddy condition of the access road.

This spot is directly next to the beach with some trees for shade and no buildings around. Next house is on a hill a few hundert meters away behind the trees.
Very quiet, no people at all on a Thursday afternoon and night, very few people walking on the beach on Friday morning, all friendly.
Cool fresh breeze at night.

It is possible to drive a bit further down the stoney beach but the water can come up pretty far at high tide so not really suitable to camp down there.

No +movil reception.

2 spots here. Lovely quiet place away from houses in the valley on a dirt road, close to a river.
1 (pictures 3-4): grass to gravel pull in, visible from the road but big enough for a couple of cars or van, flat, valley views (didn’t stay here).

2 (pictures 1-2): an old field next to the pull in, (down the hill). Short steep bank from road where we had to move some rocks. Flat spots for camping in the field with a bicycle or motorcycle and small tent. We tucked in by the old stone wall and we’re hidden from view of the road. Road was very quiet. If on a bicycle/foot you could get to lower level right by the river. We filtered water from there. Cold, quiet night!

Comes with free dogs, a few sheep and the occasional lama/alpaca and their shepherdess.

For RV's only a parking lot close to the restaurant which has good food. It has basic bathrooms and the park is close to the river where you can swim. They can arrange taxi to the Maya Pyramides. Not worth it.
If you go there you have to pay first entrance fee for the land of the community, 30 pp, the parking lot is 100 pp night and we paid 300 pesos for the taxi including the entrance to the pyramides. The pictures in there are really beautiful and the hole area is sitting in the middle of the rainforest. We were the only ones at that time there, awesome!

The waterfront bar and restaurant are the real stars of the show here, the campsite less so. Camping spots appear to be a bit of an afterthought, and almost feel tucked away by the car park. Ablutions are ok. But on the whole, the place grew on us with its nice bar and deck, and clean swimming pools. We organised rafting with them which was expensive but extremely well run and well worth it from our perspective (though mind the crocs!).

I stayed at this spot for almost 2 weeks.

70 pesos/night/person
He charged me extra for my small dog (he didnt mention it before, when I first asked for the price). I gave him 100 pesos extra for my dog, thats all I had left in cash.

The place is pretty quite and I liked staying here. No direct lake access but a short walk to the lake.
Only cold water. No internet but Telcel signal (3G or better). On some days no signal for hours.

Overall nice place. It only gets crowded on weekends.I stayed at this spot for almost 2 weeks.

It was a problem try to fix our van here. The people were not empathic with us. They told us to sleep on Sunday in the front of the garage, and we did it, in a place very noisy, and in slope, very uncomfortable. On Monday, it was supposed to began the job early, but it was 14 in the afternoon and nothing happened. We left this place and save a lot of money.

A beautiful hotel with a well-kept pool. You can camp on the meadow. The pool, the well-tended showers and toilets can be used. Price 600 pesos. You can register at the hotel bar. 50m further is the parking lot of the pyramids. Spending the night in the parking lot costs 300 pesos.
