The cyclon with huge flood in February this year destroyed most of the campsites near the river.
You can still camp on grassy spot next to the amazing pool. Ablutions nice and clean with hotshower.
Lovely Restaurant with good food and the best apple strudel in africa.

Nice little camping with clean toilets and showers (for free). You can unfortunately hear the road during the night.

Turn East?/left here to make your way to Island rock resort and camping. Google / Maps.me took us through the village back 5mins. About 25kms from here. Most of the road is good. Last 4kms is sandy with hills. We did it in 4x4 without letting air out, but we were going about 40kmph in 2nd gear. Easier with low tyre pressure!

Wild card accepted. Beware of 2.5 m height restriction at entrance! Our cruiser with RTT barely cleared. Bergview hike is not bad, 2 hours circuit, half of it is road. Easy hike clockwise has best views but counter better for knees

Very well protected from the wind that was blowing quite heavily on the wildcamp spot on the beach and clean hot showers. 2000 for 2 people plus a rooftop tent.

We tried to park there but they said the person in charge wasn’t there (in vacation for semana santa). We went to a private parking close to the main square, right across the street from the basketball park. We paid 10$ for 2 nights because we went to Espiritu de la Montana by bus and left our RV in this secure private parking. Great option for us. It would have been impossible for our RV to reach the mirador at Espiritu.

Exactly a year, another trip, same great spot! Due to it being significantly lower in elevation than the surrounding spots it's already snow free and easy to get to. Nobody around this time of year 😉 Good cell reception!

Very friendly, helpful and professional mechanic. He helped us immediately and showed us everything in detail and explained what he had found out. The advice and work was excellent.

Pretty sweet! Don’t expect a secret tranquil natural oasis, it was pretty busy (during Semana Santa), but people were respectful and surprisingly quiet. Lots of flowing pools to explore and the river is pretty too. There were lots of campers, they let tent campers camp down by the pools, which would be an awesome spot. Not sure if that’s just because it was Semana Santa or not. The car parking lot was nice and quiet and shady under big mango trees. Toilets and showers were clean and stay open 24 hours. The place closes to non-campers at 6pm and the gates close at 10pm. Almost no mosquitos (which we realized is because they smoke the place with a pesticide in the morning). Good place to break up the drive from the coast to the city! 200 per person for camping and entry (posted on the sign).

Very aggressive vendors/restaurant workers. You must eat something here to park or they'll charge you 200 MXN. We couldn't even go look at the beach for 2 minutes without problems. Looks beautiful so probably worth it if you plan to eat there.

This is an English speaking notary ( Paulo) that made a poder for us I. 2 days. We used the template provided by Alex Smith, found in the files of the Pan American Facebook group. The cost is $95. Double check the documents because once it is stamped no changes are possible. Parking is easy.

Nice place to stop for a night on the way to Redwoods NP. Has clean bathrooms, picnic tables, and a nice little walk through the forest for you or your dog. Gets very quiet at night when the road noise dies down. Had an Rv, a few camper vans and people camping in their cars. Overall very safe, free, and an easy night. Would recommend. (I see people say you can’t stay more than 8 hours, there were no signs, I stayed longer than that and there were vans here when I pulled in that were still there when I left so I wouldn’t worry).

Nice and calm spot. No specific update in 2022, be careful when leaving the ruta 16 to the smaller spot, it is just before a police control and the turn can be a bit abrupt at night.

Nice campground near the San Juan river. There are about 25 campsites, well spaced and quiet. Picnic tables and fire rings. No Verizon signal. Centrally located water spigot. It is in an area of one of the greatest number of ancient puebloan sites including pueblo ruins, petroglyphs and moki steps. There is a petroglyph panel at the campground.
