single rooms from 13 000, double for 20 000. All the cheap rooms were taken, when we arrived.

They had a problem with the fact that two guys want to share one room. No Wifi atm. No dogs allowed. Hot and running water. Staff was ok.

Nice spot but the directions on Google Maps had us heading in the wrong direction with signs that read private property/no camping. We drove a bit further down the road and saw ‘the gate’. Very quiet and peaceful. Road is not in terrible condition. Doubt you need 4x4 today.

Beautiful place, incredible view, we saw some wolves!
Made a fire pit above the barrier on the left side
(a lot of dead wood there)

Great place to let your pup do their business and to grab a good local brew. Be sure to clear parking over night with the Staff/Manager. And Tip generously!

I got here around 10pm. I noticed a stench that I think is coming from the portapotties near the restrooms. Not sure what’s goin on w that. I was parked on the opposite side of parking lot from restrooms and I could still smell this stench. This area is patrolled by security which is nice. This rest stop is next to the high way of course so keep in mind you’ll hear the usual traffic noises. Other than having to deal w the stench I had a pleasant time sleeping overnight here.

Sunset Campground in Grant Grove Village area, Kings Canyon National Park. It is reservation only. Very close to Grant Grove Village which has a general store, gift shop, restaurant and visitor center. Water spickets at various spots along with flush toilets. Each side has a firebox, bear box and picnic table. Most sites while paved and very short and extremely unlevel, use caution while choosing. Also many sites that say tent only are shared parking so not good if in a van or small RV. I'm adding this spot as it has great Verizon 5G although the data speeds are a bit slow. Cell signal is limited in the Park. $22 night, no electric and many sites are heavy shade. Yours to enjoy, protect and keep clean.

a good place to spend a night or two. we were allowed to park our two motorcycles in the yard. they just fit through the front gate. we paid (2 people) for a room with bathroom 40000$. not the cheapest hostal. everything is neat and clean. We were welcomed very friendly.

We found this camp spot on Maps.me
It is a lovely spot ready for picnic and barbecue.
Someone was so kind to leave some wood and branches ready for a bonfire.

It is very near to the road, but with the sound of the river we barely heard the rare trucks passing by at night.

Unfortunately there is some trash.

We stayed one night without any problem, no one came around.

Easy access from the road for a 4x4.

An electric fence has been set up with sheep on the inside. Almost no place to camp on the outside of the fence..
If wet the road down gets very slippery and you might have problem getting back up.

Very nice place to stay that’s quiet and feels safe. We stayed at the large gravel lot behind the baseball field overlooking the beach. Some locals came to play on the rocks and have fires on the beach and left at sunset. There’s another lot near the whale tail sculpture which appears more scenic but we noticed the fishermen park their trucks there in the morning so you’d probably hear them coming in at 3-4am. Just be aware of that and leave them room. There was essentially no cell service even when using our cell booster. We got a sporadic minute or two by chance.

New restaurant now at this spot, not the awesome campground someone previous mentioned being in the works…before Covid. Owners ok with us and another overlander parking overnight. Asked $5/pp. 2 flush toilets and a bucket shower for amenities. 3g claro service. SUPER muddy in rainy session. We had difficulty getting in and out in our van. Not a good place to go when it’s wet or might rain, but amazing location for the beach and surf.

Great glass and aluminum shop. They fixed my camper back stairs. He called his workers off another job to help me right away. Very friendly and cheap…

Close to highway so a bit noisy, but a nice spot otherwise. East to get into the first few sites but then have to cross the creek to get to other sites. Was wide open late may. Right on the creek is nice too.

48 Hour maximum parking, Commuter parking only on sign.
Medium sized lot with about 30 or so spots close together.
Trash often left in lot so please make sure to clean after yourself and maybe leave it cleaner than you found it.
Located near a Firestone, Burger King, and urgent care clinic.
Lot often occupied by a hand full of people.
Not big rig friendly but Ive seen medium RV's fit fine.

Great free site that was well maintained. There's a cute playground and a 9 hole disk golf course too! The shower got nice and hot (better than some paid ones we've had)!

pool, small hottub and gender sauna for $8, shower is $2. Facility is fairly old, but not bad. the pool is small compare to many other places I've been to. Hot tub didn't seem hot enough, the sauna is very small but it's gender specific, so not too bad.

This lodge and campside is currently under construction. It will be reopened in August 2022. We were already able to take a good look at the place and we think it will be wonderful once finished. The safari tents and the infinity pool are already there and look beautiful. The campspots for overlanders are not finished yet. If you'll stay on the campside, you can also use the facilities of the lodge (restaurant and pool). They will also offer game drives and walking safaris.

Stayed here one night and half of the day resting in between loads. I drive a sprinter van and I am always on the road. Texas by far has the nicest and cleanest rest areas and highways I've ever seen compared to any other state and I have been all over the country. Very beautiful rest area. Great cell service and was super quiet all night. I arrived around midnight and slept like a baby.

Super pretty river spot, pardoned from a wildfire with tons of fragrant flowers around.
Before you cross the bridge there are a few spots right off the road and a few down a treacherous path by the river. Past the bridge are a few spots along the river. An established campfire spot at every camp site; littered with cans, please remember to pack out.
Overall super cool with sandy beaches along the river.

Very large upper parking lot, with a smaller lot below. We stayed at the upper lot and with the exception of one car that stayed at the lower lot, were the only ones there. Very nice area. Thanks to the ski resort for allowing this in the off-season!
