Crossing ZIM-MOZ
most parts of the 40km from Chipinge to the border is very bad tar road; the very last stretch from Mt Selinda Mission is a rough earth track (possibly difficult in rainy times)
ZIM:
Immigration and Customs: easy, quick and friendly
Police: short inspection, clearly looking for poaching staff

MOZ: arrived at 09:40, we were the only customers .. all day and all day next day
Immigration and Customs: very friendly … but very slow. VOA available(US$50 pp, a flyer is hanging up, saying Mt3100) … theoretically … but first due to internet connection problem and then printing problem, we had to overnight in front of the customs building and for a long time it was not sure if we can continue at all. The officers suggested repeatedly we should go back to ZIM and try Machipanda, which we refused.

It was not till 2pm on the second day the printer problem was finally solved and we had our passports back and could continue.
All in all quite nerve racking.

Conclusion: did we just have bad luck or is this ‚printer problem‘ systematic … ?

PS. For the visa application form, the officer asked $1pp … we claimed we did not have small notes and no ZAR either …

Lovely spot, once you find it. Position on iOverlander a little incorrect. There is a very faded sign nearby that helps you, but, the location is approximately 100m down a small side road running to the northeast of the stated location. The turn and venue would not accommodate big rigs. Full sized Sprinter probably the largest you'd want to try. Trucks towing big campers and big Class A/C RVs don't even bother.

Owner is very lovely and welcoming. Speaks minimal English. I was here during the week and was essentially alone, but on weekends the owner sometimes hosts events (weddings, etc) in his lovely big garden. This would definitely make the weekend a different experience than I had.

Has really fast WiFi (200mbps) at the reception area but it doesn't stretch to camper parking area, and there's no private space near WiFi for those wanting to work remotely. Showers are basic but clean. Pet friendly and reasonable cell reception. There is a tiny store for snacks about 300m walk away.

Over all, would definitely stay again.

I got to the campsite at 10:00 PM and they still had a little less than half of the First come First serve spots available (On a Wednesday). Self serve pay 20.00. Bathrooms all around the sights, the one I used was very clean. Water available for use (May 2022). Little noise besides the occasional late night highway driver but far enough away it is not bothersome. Spotty service for tmobile.

Spent the night in front of the Tourist Office. Very cute little town, there was a street Bingo going on at the time. Friendly people. Didnt find the Western Union though, so ended up paying 10 euro's extra to withdraw from the ATM. It was our first stop coming from Chile. Cold at night at that height though. Gas station was expensive too.

This National Park is not know very well. It has 3 separate entrances, each with 1 forest hike to offer, here 1,3 km only. But they plan to extend and open another trail in the near future, which will be more interesting. It’s a nice place to stay overnight, rangers are very sympathetic, easy to chat with them. The 7 km red clay dirt road can be driven by any car when dry. Better avoid driving this road when wet, specially with heavy vehicles / campers. The road to the park starts in the village of San Carlos. Claro data card internet reception is good. Free entrance and also free to stay here overnight. Toilet, hot shower, potable water, electricity, ... can be used. We were staying 7 days, also because of the rain, had a good time here with the rangers. Backpackers are very welcome, basic but clean accommodation, free.

NIce spot to stay the night. Went in before dark and asked an employee if they allowed car camping, and the guy said no. But I waited around and saw quite a few other vehicles parking for the night, so I ended up staying. Nobody bothered me, and it was pretty quiet. Would stay again!

We parked in a 21 ft Pleasure Way overnight. Asked at the Marina they said people park in another lot behind the Aquatic Centre but it was crowded with cars and had steep slopes. We parked on the east side of the Aquatic Centre overnight. No problem. Used the washroom at the pool. Could pay to use the pool and showers.Picnic tables on the lawn, lots of trees.

As previously reported but this large campsite with 178 spots can be very crowded, especially in summer and on weekends. We got the last walk up spot for our tent. Showers are now $5.00 and controlled by a four digit code you get at the store.

We ran out of daylight as well so parked in this small spot beside the narrowest little creek we have ever seen! The wee park across the street is pretty neat.
Lots of kids playing sports in the park right until dark but after that it was very quiet. We rarely park right on the street especially in Mexico but this was very quiet and peaceful.
It’s a sweet town although no food anywhere after 8 pm so come prepared. One of the locals saw our logo on the van so sent us a Facebook message welcoming us to town. How sweet is that? There’s a YouTube video on this town. It’s all in Spanish but at least you can check out the park, the plaza and the lake/ reservoir before you get here. Definitely a good overnight stop if you run out of daylight too. There’s a port a pottie at the soccer field just a few steps away from here.
