Wide open space worth staying every time! Coming from the east, I took the 95 exit (one exit after what GPS says) then make a left onto a road after the parking lot/rest stop. Drove in until I found flat land to camp just off of the dirt road to the right, after I passed another dirt road that heads towards the mountains.

Basically, big land, camp responsibility wherever you want but choosing more rocks means harder surface, less rocks is soft dirt.

we got her knowing it was a little older.. we phoned said the size of our trailers and they said not a problem we got water and power... ( water is now hauled in ) the sites are alot unlevel and very tight to get into. now that being said it is a good site for an over night or 2 as the bath house and laundry house are a great asset. the dryers will take 2 cycles to dry 1 load but they are here..

Cost...$ 42.00 per night (W&P)
washing... $3.00 a wash
drying... $1.50 a dry but need 2 to get them dry

Totally random small lot, but it really is a safe quiet place for a night. There were 4 other vans with me.

I agree whit the last comment, just cross the tunnel, and it give much more possibilities...
An other option is to stay south of the tunnel at arround 1'900m, it give a small road on the turn, it's look very quiet and it's give a river.

another uneventful and reliable Wal-Mart parking lot stay. We didn't call ahead to ask management, when we arrived there were about 5 RVs/trailers there.

Pullout just off the road with decent privacy. A small berm blocks most of the road so you won't get dust blown on you from cars going by. Large enough to fit a couple of rigs. Fairly level with room to turn around. There's also a fire pit. 1 bar Verizon LTE.

Good place for the night. 50 m away from the Highway but well protected from the dust of the road behind the trees. Not visible from the road. Stone firerings.

Since you can’t park a van anywhere in Tofino, we went there hoping to stay in the overflow parking. They gave us an « emergency camp site », but they want you to try to find a spot at other camgrounds beforehand, also they only let you stay one night. Same thing with the overflow parking, they won’t let you stay 2 nights in a row, she told us they don’t want a bunch of vans coming everyday. The lady told us to drive an hour back after the construction if we wanted to park somewhere (I can confirm that it’s very challenging coming to Tofino with a van, never had that much trouble finding a place to sleep even if you’re willing to pay).

Nice scenic place to camp. Can be noisy with reggaeton music from locals. Didn’t find any function showers, toilets or electricity outlets. Maybe it was the off-season. Managed to take a refreshing dip in the river. Clean enough to bathe. Quite a bit of litter. Watch out for ants when pitching the tent.

We stayed for two nights and paid 20 Sol p.P.p.N. The site is a littlebit run down. The bathroom was more or less clean. A hot shower with low pressure is possible. Luis (guard) is friendly and like to share a Pisco with you. Don't forget to announce on the phone of Amelia (old number).

Beautiful campsites with covered picnic tables, potable water available, and vault toilets. No trees, but has mountain/lake view. $10 per night if you drive up, or around $14 if you reserve online! Leashed dogs allowed, lots of prairie dogs/chipmunks.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Free camping, next to the lake. Picknick tables fire rings and 2 pit toilets. It was very busy when we got here, managed to squeeze in a spot. The lake was very nice to swim in.
Drive in from jaffray Baynes Lake road, not the other side. We have a class c motorhome and that road was easy to do. The other side not so much.

State Park with electric and tent sites, dump and fresh water. Trails, picnic area, and swimming hole too. Campground toilets are nice with showers (which seem free; I didn’t use).

$35/electric
$24/tent
Plus $7/vehicle day use fee (or $35/MN state park annual pass)

A lovely overnight. We were in site 82, in the upper campground, which seems to be all tent sites. Shaded, private, level. Occasionally 1 bar VZN LTE. T-Mobile 2bars. Lower campground seems to be more open, with larger sites for electric hookups. Dump and freshwater is next to entrance. (There are also water spigots scattered throughout the campgrounds.)

A train line runs through the park with regular (hourly?) trains, which don’t bother me at all but could be a noise issue for some. Otherwise a really lovely night.

An unforgettable place to sleep. We parked our car beside the hostel and ask they offered us to stay there and use bathroom and the fireplace, for 5 usd per person. We accepted. Maybe you can find another place close for free. The room is 15 usd per person. From there you can watch and contemplate the chimorango volcano without nobody else (the top of the volcano is the furthest point from the earth centre). We lived a night and a morning full of emotion. The owner has changed.
