Flea market. A big parking aerea, where the citizen of Hail offer used goods. We were here around 2 p.m. and the variety of goods wasn't very big, but I guess during other times, it will be better.

Nice lodge minutes away from the main square of town. Owner Nico speaks all the languages you'd think to use. Strong AC in the huge room, shared, clean bathroom with running water, toilet and washing machine (3000CFA per load), 20k a night walk-in, ~25 through Booking.com

Afer long hours with a police escort it was dark and this was the best place we found. And really, there are toilets, shower with warm water. And we get drinkwater as a present.

Leave the main road (Lusaka - Kafue) and take the dirt road till the end. You arrive at a wire fence. It’s public area so you can park and enjoy. People working in the fields around but you are pretty hidden from them and at night no one. Some of them saw us while going back home and didn’t care at all.
Good 4G signal. Firewood. No water.

We came here after Ephesus and it was nearly empty. Very large surrounded by apartment blocks with shops nearby. No services except garbage bins and there's a 4G cell signal. We found it pretty quiet for being in the city. Very flat too.

Yep, quiet. Some gum trees provide also shade. Under them is some space available to put up your tent. More private than the Fishing Port spot. We have been a few times here now. There is always some garbage cleaning to do if you want. Container on the spot is provided.

Still an excellent place to spend a quiet and apparently safe night. Only the sound of the river, a few people walking their dogs.

If you want to start hiking with back pain, then this is the Hostal for you. The bed are from the before the war, which war you might ask? Every war! The're that old. The hallway is like a tropical hot day, while the bedroom is as cold as the heart of Patagonia itself.
Breakfast is included, well they asked us at what time we wanted breakfast and there was one piece of bread for the two of us.
The cleaning lady cleaned everything while we were having breakfast, but kept coughing so much, that I wondered whether everything was actually cleaner afterwards.

Summing up all aspects of this objective review, I must say I would recommend finding another place to spend the night.

Tyre and wheel shop owned by Ali. Great place with lots of different tyres and rims available. Our two steel VW T5 rims were cracked and he arranged the correct size of rims for us the same day, even though its very hard to find in Pakistan. He is very social guy and a good speaker. Kind in heart and tries to help overlanders where he can.

Delicious Pakistani food with tons of different options to choose from. Vegetarian options are amazingly good and the portions are more than enough! Beautiful view over the city at night. We ate like kings with 2 persons for 12 euros.

Soo awesome they let you boondock in the parking lot overnight for free! I went inside to get a park map and just verified with the ranger that it’s okay and she said no problem at all! few other rigs here tonight, still super quiet and peaceful. this is amazing for a National park to allow this!!!

37.226597,-107.695009 these coordinates are for the main entrance. The turn in will sneak up on you, be prepared. Closest BLM East of Durango. Spent 1 night here. Got in late-ish around 8pm. Pulled off at the first stop (to the left) it wasn’t exactly level but we were able to make it work for the night. The site had a fire ring but we didn’t use it, it was pretty cold. The land is near some kind of gas pipe(s) buried in the ground, had signs of “DANGER: buried pipe, methane gas leak possible” . That was a bit unsettling but we figured it would be okay for one night. We saw 5 other campers. Get here early preferably before sundown, it was very difficult to navigate in the dark. Roads leading in were not too bad, saw a Honda CRV and a Prius make it in so I believe any vehicle could do it. Go slow on the rocky parts and you’ll be good! 8 out of 10 would visit again!!!!!!

Beautiful rest area between the trees. Unpaved road but easy for any vehicle. Big vehicles have to park in the grass so be careful. There’s a table and trashcan, and spots to make a fire.

Huge flat area for lots of campers. Large clean outhouse. Very windy which I assume is typical based on all the wind turbines in the area! Free overnight camping allowed til Oct 31, then day use only. We happened to be there Oct 30 😊. A few trains thru the night, on the other side of the river. No whistles so they aren't too loud. Could have slept thru them, if I'd been able to fall asleep in the first place. But the highway traffic kept me awake. Was hoping it would quiet down thru the night but it didn't. If you need quiet, you probably won't like this place. But otherwise it was a great stop.

we arrived at the place at around 4pm. There was a lot a people still but we could find a parking spot right at the top. The road to get there is very steep and careful with the topes !
From 6:30 to around 7:30 there was a mass. After it ended it got totally empty at around 8:30 9. Very quiet during the night, we were the only one. Beautiful sunrise

All size rigs, not a large area pea gravel and hard pack. ground does have a slope, we had a hard time getting MH close to level. T-Mobile worked good. Access to off road trails go right through here and locals do use it. Some slow down , others dont. Good for a few nights.
