we got here in afternoon of Nov 2, it is such a nice place we decided to stay 2 nights. Easy access for big rigs, we have truck and 28' RV, had no problem and there were several big motor homes. Sites have water and electricity but need to go to headquarter for dumping.

stayed there last night and it was incredibly quite. as mentioned, it’s sandy but i pulled a lil teardrop trailer into a spot with a Subaru Forester (no 4x4) and had zero problems. cell coverage was literally one bar Verizon. when i was sitting in my car, i somehow got it to stream the Simpsons for a few episodes. but once i was in my trailer, it was zero coverage. it was odd to stream anything cause i couldn’t even send a text message before that. so that’s why i was surprised. zero bars TMobile however. some hikers/bikers started to show up at 8am for the trails. overall, it’s an incredibly quite space in the forest and i would stay here again. i would not try to get anything bigger than a Class B or small trailer like mine back there though. no place to turn around.

As described before, safe place for a night. They have a toilet and a hot shower.

Single rooms - hostel. Clean, wifi, hot water, friendly staff. No parking but paid parking 1 block away. (Parking 5 soles per night)

Room for many rigs and right off the road. Might recommend avoiding on weekends as there are spent shell casings all over suggesting a shooting spot. 3 bars Verizon 4g

Awesome camping spot surrounded by a forest of super tall cacti. You follow a narrow set of tyre tracks on a slalom of zigzags to make your way through the cacti to get to this spot. You can hear the road but it’s not intrusive and you could be seen from the road if you have bright lights at night, but it’s pretty well hidden in the day. Fabulous for sunset silhouette photos

Highly recommend the smoked fish quesadilla ($180) and also the avocado burrito ($140) Served with really nice fresh salad. Good value for really top quality food.

Not at all as previously reviewed and we were very disappointed. Warm welcome but that is all. Nothing to recommend about this place and we are pretty hardy campers. The ablutions are awful. Paid $10pp.

A good spot for an overnight. There was fresh snow but the road was firm enough for me to get there in my FWD Promaster. No Verizon signal

A perfect place to overnight for free, we stayed for one night one day after the Luz y Vida parade because we arrived at 1 am in the morning. Perfect location because we were only two blocks walking distance from downtown and from the lake, and there were no houses in front but a grassy private lot in front. There is a small grocery store to run some errands. This street is very quiet, and looked safe.

Its not a 5 star, but i think the best can find in this town.
Payed 1500 INR for a room, car can be parked in front of hotel, nice food in the restaurant. Friendly owner

Still a great place. Some fishermen came by and were very friendly. We found three palm trees which were perfect for our hammocks. Flat area for cars/ vans/ tents.

We spend the night before crossing the border. We spoke to the owner and he was very friendly.

We also load fuel, they only accept cash since there is no signal or Internet in the area.

Picnic area right on the highway. Zero privacy but was left alone all night. Left by 6 am. I wouldn't stay here again but it worked in a pinch.

We paid 8000 IQD for one night and one day. Very welcoming staff. Security camera. Toilets available. Very few people, we had a very quiet night.

Free access. Loan of a chador at the entrance for women. remember to put on socks too 😉. Possibility to take photos and videos with the smartphone without problem but avoid large cameras. It is still possible to enter with a big camera but you will have to pass a small interview to justify it, then you will be loaned a ''press'' card and someone will follow you to watch you. Prohibited videos with a big camera.

We slept one night here. Motorcycles doing races next to us until 12am. After thay was silent. It is forbidden to camp inside the beach (we park in the beach until 6:00pm, then police came by and said to us it was forbidden). Puerto Colombia is worth visiting, such beautiful town with great surf.

These coordinates are a little off. Keep moving north to the corner and right before the bridge, make a left to the dirt road. You will then see the river on your right and the picnic area. The area is well kept and clean. There were just a few, small spots to park our van. The police passed by and didn't say/ask anything so we felt fine about spending the night. The road has little traffic. Kitties were happy.
If you visit in summer, I recommend finding the walkway towards Baño de los Dioses in Maps.me and enjoy a fun walk and a refreshing natural pool.

Got to the park at like 2am. Drove up then hill where the road curves a bit until I found parking spots. There was another car next to me. Slept until noon. People and other cars started showing up at 7am and made some noise but I wasn't bothered.
So far a cool place to spend the night.

Now there's a panel "no acampar". Plus many locals were already there starting a fire. We didn't want people partying around us so we didn't stay.

Nice and quiet spot for a nigth. The coordonates are the begin of the dirty road. You can continu. You can go with a big rig. You can't be seen from the main road.

Bon spot pour une nuit. C'est calme, mais le matin les agriculteurs vont travailler avec leur machine. Les coordonnées indiquent le début du chemin, mais vous pouvez le continuer pour trouver une place hors de vu de la route principale. Possible avec un van 2wd.

We were able to spend one night, but security came in the AM.
We arrived at 8PM, parked towards back of lot and went inside to play in the Casino until 11PM. Security came knocking on our window at 6AM and asked us to move along bc “no camping”

Good, quiet spot for a night or two. We parked outside a small ice making factory and they were cool with it. Just a bit of noise from around 6am when people start to buy their ice. Other than that a good spot.

Area borders the BLM long term sites. West of this road is permit only 9/15 to 4/15. East is 14 day limit and free. it was about 12 square miles of open camping here. Easy walk to Holtville Hot Springs. Basic supplies 7 miles away in Holtville.
Been using the Springs as a water source, no worries.

There is now a sign saying access is prohibited (maybe through other ways its not). Anyway we decided to go further, past the military checkpoint and the hotel and when heading to the ridge wildcampsite we found tracks that go down to the lake. You'll be close but out of sight of the hotel. Coordinates: 21.57831, 68.04503. Lake and Flamingos right next to that spot. So many points around here so I didn't create a new one.
