We’re here in early January and the stream is running abundantly- nice cold clear water! Easy access from the road.

car park at the start of the walk to Laguna Esmeralda. the round trip is estimated at 5 hours, we did it in 3h30 with children. you can enjoy the beach at the edge of the lagoon, very touristy. on the way we see a beaver dam. the lagoon has a beautiful light green color.

it is one of the best campings I have seen , beautiful grounds , very big and all green, very clean also toilettes and showers very clean, always hot water. it has a very nice lake front with a restaurant and bar, we stayed here 2 nights but we were charged for 1 day, because we checked in at 4.30 pm and reception closes at 5pm, so first night stay was free and for second night we paid 46 BRL pp plus 12 BRL for electricity. It is more a caravan site than a camping, but really beautiful place

Wonderful place to see the birds flying. At the sunrise thousands of birds are flying, their cry is pleasant. I recommend to walk until the lake to see the sunset!

A narrow entry from the road. It has an open area. You are not totally hidden, but in the dark cars probably will not notice you. Enough space for a tent as well.

Enjoy!

Wonderful spot. Everyone kind and caring. The caretaker made a campfire for us while we ate dinner under the palapa and he joined us for s’mores after. We hiked the sendero loop. About 3K and 1.5 hours total including a trip up the steps of Tikalito. The hike was quiet, had clean air and lots of birds. 35Q for each adult and 15Q for each child.

I am confused as to why there are two different listings for the same YPF station. We came and looked it over, but as we don’t need any of the services we chose to look beyond. Around back is a dirt road leading to a small lake just a stones throw away. Flat, quiet parking. Perfect space for tents. A dog walker arrived in the morning. Otherwise quiet on a Monday night.
No services here, so take your damn toilet paper with you when you go.

So this is kind of funny and to be honest a bit typical of my experiences in Mexico. I recently crossed here and the man who inspected my vehicle kept asking question that didn't quite make sense like did I have proof I'd paid the taxes on my truck. I realized he thought I was importing the vehicle so I explained "no, tourista, I need to get a visa and TIP" he asked where I intended to do this, I said here! I had four different agents insist this was not possible but after I refused to go back they said I could leave the truck with them and try that building over there. Yep, sure enough, the big building 50 feet away on the left, that they work next to all day everyday is the place alright. When you go to that building the tourist visa office is the downstairs door on the left and the TIP office is upstairs, second to last office on the left.

a really great place to stay, we stayed for 3 nights, even though there is no electricity, water or sewer on the site, the place is beautiful, very clean, they care about recycling, there is a nice coffee shop that is also a good place for meetings, there is a great Wi-Fi our site was pretty close to the office so we don’t know what about the sites on the beach (if the Wi-Fi getting there). Recommend. We would come again😊

Nice spot to enjoy a calm beach and discover the Laguna and the mangrove. Jaime was super quick to answer us and very helpful to get to his place and find a boat for a tour. Rigs and Campervan can't fit, only cars, but you can park in front of the place in Roxanna's parqueo for $2/night.
The place need a fresh up, but it's super quiet, calm, with hammocks!!! Shower and toilets are good.

I don't know what more to add. We had a lovely 6 (!) night stay here. Great talks with Joep and Juul. We loved the bathroom, eh, art project. It's just a must visit place to be inspired and relax or hike the area. Be careful though, you could fall in love with this place and stay much longer than intended.

We arrived here at 5pm hoping to camp but they said no way, the man on the gate did however call a friend of his who lives 10km from the gate and let us camp there, beautiful views, very basic but with a pit loo, worked great for us and a cool experience camping with a roof tent in a Masai farm garden. There was no charge but a donation was expected. We felt safe and the local kids thoroughly enjoyed watching us set up camp and cook dinner! The gate ranger is called Elibariki a is nice guy.

Worth checking out if on motos. There 3 of use at the heights of busy season and the owners gave us a spot behind his office to park our bikes (under a roof) and we pitched 2 tents in nice grass right next to the bikes. It was perfect, away from the madness of the main camping area and top WIFI. At 2000 pp/pn it was a great option for down town

Excelente camping.
