We are pulling a trailer and there was no one around so we found the bathrooms and s we tried to park, a fellow in a pick up came over. he called the owner and told us $20usd the night for a trailer with power. Showers were cold. Since it was dark we stayed but not worth the price. There was a Sami dump though so that made us feel better. It in a concrete pad to the left of the bathrooms. Terrible cell reception, barely got "E".

Very few people here when it’s January and raining. Well-maintained. Good cellular coverage (Verizon).

Consider this as an emergency stop if you, like me, leave the pink house behind, thinking I would make it to the Lago Argentina. The wind was suddenly to dangerous to continue so I decided to ask Oskar for a place to sleep. The garage (as mentioned) is an open but we'll protected shed. it's dusty and you won't be able to put any pegs in the ground. there were to puppies running around, making the place even dustier and yes, the generator kept running until late at night. I am still very happy for Oskars help. His wife and daughter are lovely as well. you might be allowed to park a motorhome here as well, if needed. The view is not that bad ;-) there is also a water tab in the shed/garage.

We went to the Ghana ambassy today to get a visa. We’ve made everything online before and took an appointment, as we read everywhere. Once we get there everything was fine except one thing, we don’t live in Ivory coast. The lady at the reception (very nice by the way not sure it’s still the same) told us we had to go to a police station, ask for a « certificat de residence » and come back to the ambassy. Otherwise she couldn’t take our application. She said it’s a new thing this year, checked with the consul who said the same thing. We did this, it was quick at the police station, cost 2000 CFA (official price), we needed a letter from the person hosting us in Abidjan saying we were living with him for now, and his residence card. I don’t know how it works if you stay in a hotel. We went back to the ambassy and she took our application for good !

Information are changing so fast, so I don’t know if it’s a new permanent thing or not, but I’m sharing for those who need it :)

It doesn't look open on Monday to Friday.
Only open on Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays - and only if it doesn't rain.
A bit of a bummer.

Just next to the road, small access to the fields, a cutout right next to the field - protected from view, quiet and sunset.
The earth looks soggy when it rained (for now it is dry); probably not good for tents; space for about a campervan.
Very little (next to nil) cell coverage.

Chito is a very friendly host. The green camping is nice, lots of birds. Several camping places.
The price is 5$ pp for a truck and 5$ / night more if you need electricity.
The price is 6$ pp for a space to pitch the tent, with electricity, light and wifi.
It's possible to rent a tent.
There are toilets, showers and lockers.

Considering the very positive reviews, we were a bit disappointed by this place. Run-down we don’t mind, but the cleanliness left something to be desired. In particular, the bathrooms and kitchen area received very little attention for the two days we were there. It’s peak season, and this probably reflects the number of people using a limited number of facilities. But if they’re going to increase the prices for summer and take in a heap more customers, we would expect a little more effort going into cleaning the bathrooms and kitchen areas to keep up with the volume. While on the subject of increased prices, we were originally quoted 7,000pp/pn, but when they saw that we had a roof top tent, this increased to 8,000pp/pn. Can’t quite understand why a rooftop tent (as opposed to a car with a tent beside it), draws a higher price. But, not to be totally negative, the location is good, there is some wind protection and the wifi was the best we’ve experienced in Patagonia.

Standard Cracker Barrel. Called and asked permission to stay overnight in our camper van and was told it was OK. We arrived and it was a large lot. There are designated RV spots as well. We had no trouble finding a level space. Quiet night. Would stay again.

odd spot just off the side of the highway, camped here for 1 night in my 22-foot motorhome. needed earplugs to sleep. within walking distance of the 3 sisters volcano hike- easy hike that i did with my chihuahua. pretty sure a cop saw me pull into this spot but didn’t say anything.

Definitly our favorite place to sleep in Ushuaia in our Campervan.
We slept at many places (stayed for more than 3 weeks in Ushuaia), but except for the nights in the nationalpark, these nights here were our quietest! (We had like 10 nights here and only 1 was not quiet because of reggeaton…)
The view is not the best, but you have many trees, which are building little naturals parcells.
You can have a nice walk (with very nice view) at the riverside behind the campsite or play soccer at the small soccerfield.

Police is checking 1-2 times a day, which fehlt very good.

The only negative thing: There is quite a bit of rubbish flying around. There are bins, but sometimes they are getting to full, so that people just put it next to them, than the dogs (very nice dogs) are coming and than… you can imagine….

Decent place to stop. Couldn’t get a hold of a manager for permission but we stayed two night without issue. Usually got there around 9:30-10pm and left around 9am. There are port-a-potty’s set up all around the outside and containers, they might be preparing for a remodel or something?

Nothing special but fine for the night. We had breakfast at the restaurant and it was very good. Cute place. We heard that the margaritas were good but 9am seemed a little early.

Actually a cool place, stayed 2 days, but… The 3 dogs of the caretaker and some others bark from evening for hours, there is relatively much garbage and dog poop lying around, the toilets/showers exceed the highest disgust limit, the street is sometimes easy to hear. Paid 200, fluctuating cell service (Telcel), great and long lonely beach.

Beautiful sandy beach, lots and lots of campers, mostly van and RV. Was pleasantly quiet and calm for how busy it was. Lots of sandy beach front space or options of less on the beach and nestling farther back amongst the mini sand dunes. No issues with theft or suspicious looking individuals while there. A little windy but not too bad.

beautiful lookout spot usable for a stealth camping. Make sure to pick a spot under a tree that doesn't have to much mud, saw one car spinning for awhile.

Stayed the night. Ate supper and breakfast at the restaurant. Did not ask for permission to stay and nobody even questioned it. Nice lookout. Plenty of truck traffic though the night. It didn’t bother me at all as I kind of find it soothing.

In early December we were fined K100 000 for having no 3rd party insurance here, even though I showed my comprehensive insurance from SA that covers Malawi. We didn't have enough money, so he allowed us to pay K80 000, and gave a receipt for that amount. On our return, we got local 3rd party insurance valid for a month for K35 000 at the border, and it was accepted eith a smile by the same cop who fined us in December.
