we decided to spend another night here since the previous one was ao nice. this time a man came to us. one of the same who talked to us 2 days ago. this time he told us we need to pay 20.000 pesos to stay. we were already there for a couple of hours. he closed the entrance with some wires and sticks. we couldn't get away. we negociated for a while and we had to pay 10.000 of we left now. or 15.000 if we stayed till tomorrow. he was still kind, but this wasn't reasonable for a place without electricity. we payed the 15.000 so we didn't have to look for another place anymore. it was allready getting dark. but be warned: it is possible that you have to pay if you want to stay here.

Just before you enter town, on your right is this open space where rigs of all sizes can come and park for the night- FREE. There is a Sticky pit toilet for what its worth but this place has a great view of the many pointy peaks and glaciers. Space is first come first serve and fills up fast in the evening when everyone returns from their day trips out hiking.

Nice Park close to town. This is the entrance point. You can drive the dirt road down to the end, there is a parking and then you follow the trail. Very nice hike along a little stream. Quiet, green. Many sculptures hidden within the trees.

Lot of space for boondocking on this street. This is a dead end so very quiet at night. You can look at the sunrise over the lagoon siting on the bench. Lots of birds but also lots of bugs at sunset. Oyster divers come in the morning. Not close to the action but walkable. Feels safe.

No accomodation around this stretch of Timor Island so the local policeman kindly gave me some space to pitch my tent. No restaurant in town but there is some small kiosks/shops so if you're coming from Kupang or Atambua stock up on snacks!

On you're left keep an eye on a run down entrance. Enter here & look to you're right. You'll see an abandoned building which you can stick a tent outside under a small roof. Friendly family run a restaurant across the street,- they took me here when I asked where I could pitch my tent. Right on the beach too which is popular with locals, no crocs here apparently but I didn't see anyone in the water!

This spot and a track ( Maps.me has it) leading to it was visible from the cliff. It's an unused water reservoir about 7,5 km from the main road, the last 1.4 km with lots of smaller stones. Not difficult at all but slow, slow going. After doing my research I think it's the closest one can get to the bottom of the cliff. I camped on a cleared spot about 100 m before the reservoir. The escarpment view is amazing despite trees around.

Did two nights here no problem. Called in and they said park away from the doors near the road. I stayed under a tree near the sign by the road. Quiet for the most part no knock and they even shut off the parking lot lights at 9. Decent spot while in Durango since there isn’t many places in the winter.

Got a knock on the door at 4:19AM with a reminder that we were facing the wrong way in the parking spot and to be careful not to leave the lot going the wrong way. We'd parked away from the trucks in the picnic table area. Until then, a quiet night. Many tractor trailers here; only a few other vehicles. No RVs this night. 5G cell reception.

Applied tourist visa and received at the same day. Cost XAF 250,000 for a 60 days validate single entry visa. Needs passport, 2 passport photos, on-site filled application form. Submit in the morning, received before 15:00.

If you have invitation letter, it would be much cheaper, but request more documents, I.e. flight ticket and hotel reservation etc.

It's very beautiful place !
We are overlooking the ocean. it makes a cliff of sand that you can run down or on your buttocks... there is a passage for cars that want to drive on the sand. we arrived there at 2 p.m. and left at 9 a.m. we only saw 2 sinners!
the sound of the waves can be disturbing at night but we recommend 100%

Great spot for a night in San Antonio. Just as other have described - metered parking from 8am-6pm. Quiet for the most part at night other than a few passing cars and people walking by. Riverwalk is right outside and it’s a 10-15 min walk to all the restaurants.

I like this place, the trails are great. Got a knock on my second night, officer is nice enough to let me leave in the morning. I eavesdropped when he talked to the other van and he's letting him stay an extra day. Nice dude!
