Hugo is very friendly, i looked aroud other places and the more cheap and atractive was this.
I dont recomend Lattitude Habitaciones, they explore me asking 200 bolivianos for a private room with bathroom, other people say here much less.
Hugo did 120 bolivianos for the same.

I do not recomend, the “duena” explore me asking 200 bolivianos for a private room and more 100 bolivianos for a simple pasta dinner and breakfast.
I recomended Luna Dourada, near it, from Hugo’s, a very gently guy. He did the same for me for a half of the price.

Great little spot to park overnight - stunning views, and also high wind right now. You can see a few locals' houses, and I'd imagine if you stayed more than 1 night, the locals may get upset (I left a little late around noon, and someone had honked at me, but no biggie).

Spend the night there. Parked right in front of the Oxxo, after we were allowed by the employees. Toilets 5p. Nice people. A bit noisy (nearby road).

Everything mentioned about this place is true. These people are so kind and welcoming. We were with 4 people and two campers and could stay in their parkinglot. We could use wifi, toilet and shower. Ana can arrange a private tour to the salt flats. These people are also going to expand so they can host more campers. They didn't ask us for money (accept for the tour), but we gave them money for staying there. Big recommendation!!

Was going to camp at the site up the road more but wind gusts are up to 40 mph so we took cover in the rocky dunes. Is a nice spot but there is a slight view of power lines nearby.

Easy spot to pull off and stay overnight, or a few nights. The sand is hard packed near the entrance, especially to the right if coming from southbound.

We didn't stay but there were signs of campfire rings and lots of vehicle tracks, so it seems popular.

Wouldn't go too far into this area unless you have 4wd. You'll see the sand's color change when it gets loose.

Large open area with plenty of hard packed sand to drive on. 2wd is fine, for the most part, until you get to the fence line of the glamping campground next door.

Kind of busy with lots of dune buggies and ATVs going by.

Very crowded on both sides of the road. If going northbound, the spots on the right are difficult to get to if you don't have 4wd.

There's another camping area on the opposite side of the road that is hard packed but very busy. We kept driving.

Stayed one night here. Easy drive down to the campground but a little gnarly on the way back up in one area. But it's doable.

It's crowded, especially if you get there late like we did. The sand inside the campground is loose in some (most) areas and we got stuck pulling into a spot. But after a couple swipes with the E Tool, we were free and finished backing in.

Beautiful area with crystal blue water. If you follow the trail to the right along the beach for about 1k, you'll hit Dinosaur Egg beach which gives you a great snorkeling experience.

Yes, the roosters are loud but they're not terrible.

Would stay here again!

Surprisingly quiet on a Saturday night given it's proximity to downtown. Walking distance to many restaurants, bars, and attractions. Occasional cruise ship horns were kind of peaceful. We felt safe and secure.

In the morning as we were walking our dog, a local woman ran up to us and warned us not to leave our surfboards locked to the roof. She said there are lots of break-ins and window smashes in town. We didn't feel any more at risk here than we do in any urban area. We've camped with our surfboards on the roof in La Paz, Cabo, Ensenada, San Diego, Todos Santos, Guerrero Negro , etc., and have never had a problem. However, we heeded the local advice and got out of there.

According to the people at the Agricultural Shop downstairs, this hotel is closed for good. Sign is still up, but was certainly closed on my visit.

We spend the night at the parking lot from the hotel - but please, ask at the reception if you‘re allowed to stay! That’s only fair. We women was so friendly if we asked to spend only the night in our van - „you‘re more then welcome“ very friendly stuff!! After we couldn’t find anything around the area which was safe or allowed..

Campsite nestled between mountains and a river. (McDowell Mountain) stumbled upon it at night. Free to park and stay overnight, there are other RVs and car campers, secluded area.. dirt road to get through but I had no problem in my sedan.

The staff was not interested in customers and certainly not excited as they should be in low season. A chicken salad and some chicken wings took over an hour even though we were the only guests.
Food was delicious once it arrived and good value for money.

Pupusas are C50 now.

I found them to be pretty typical. I've had better. I've had worse. Not a bad meal for the price.

No napkins are provided, so maybe bring a couple of your own.

New manager since Sep ‘22. Let us camp inside the compound free of charge. Wouldn’t accept money and said we can eat in restaurant if we want to contribute. Had Thüringer sausage, very nice! We were able to take a shower and I had a swim in the pool (ask first). There will be a new manager in 6 months for now camping is back on 👍
