really nice area to spent a few days before or after the border crossing. you have several options to camp, for free if you don't stay at a palapa. there are several options to stay in the woods close to the river, just drive through the small village and have a look. Entry is still 30 Pesos/Person. The whole area is well kept, no trash around and the lagunas are crystal clear and refreshing. Seems not many visitors find their way here, nearly all of the restaurants are closed, even on weekends. but you can find some tiendas, selling beer, chips and coke.
we highly recommend visiting!

Very friendly woman. Loves to meet travelers. 24 hours service with clean fresh smell. Reasonably priced parking is a hassle. Better to walk from the park.

Great, free camping zone or BBQ. Not great river access due to growth and banks. Also- clearance limited by bridge. Must be under 3.5m tall to access.

Here stands at least three city water pipes among the trees. Near a police checkpoint that is closed mostly, and a large undeveloped green space. It is under trees, so if you are a big, tall rig, be careful. It is on the highway, so everyone will see what you are doing. and there is no indication as to whether it should be filtered or what its purpose is.. So if you choose to stop here, please be kind, courteous, and mindful of the city that provided this water.

There is indeed a spigot at the back of the visitor centre. Lady there was very friendly and willing to provide water.

We spent about 5 days here, loved it! Nice walks by the canal just across the street. There’s 3 separate spots at this location. Each more tree covered and secluded. Across the street is also some spots incase these are full. On average 1 other person came and spent the night. Wonderful place. Starlink worked well in the open field you can see from satellite view. No T-mobile service.

Behind a good sized wall which makes it much quieter than it would be. Music played during the day and evening. They turn it off around 10, although when we asked about it and there was nobody there they just turned it off… even though we didn’t ask them to. Very nice of them. Our kids swam in the pool. We had some food and cocktails at the restaurant. Bathrooms were clean. We filled our water tank here (we have a filter onboard). Wi-Fi available. 160q for 2 adults and 2 kids with our sprinter. We were headed to Xetulul Theme Park before going to Lago Atitlan, a we stayed here. Check that place out on google for amusement park fun for the kids.

It's a big party spot, everyone is friendly. they have some easier trails as well if you want to test your rig. it's about $25/night for a tent camping spot and $35/day for trail access

We hiked to Sapitwa Peak over 3 days and had an amazing time. It’s a challenging hike, but so worth it. We hiked to Chisepo hut then the next morning climbed to the peak without our bags (there are sections of scrambling up rocks), then hiked to Chambe hut and the next day to Likhubula falls. It was a highlight of our travels. John is an excellent guide with a lot of experience. He now has a website: https://johnmishon.wordpress.com

We would highly recommend John and found his guidance before and during the hike really useful.

We parked 4 nights and took an Uber to stay in Santiago. Safe guarded parking. When picking up there was nobody around and not to be reached by phone, bit weird since they knew we will come that day. Luckily we could still enter and leave with the code. For staying overnight not sure if we would recommend , it’s quite crowded with parked vehicles and noisy with people working there. But great for parking big rigs that don’t fit in the city.

Spent 2 very calm nights here. No one around, but felt safe.
There’s no water or electricity available and the beach is not really for swimming.
But is a beautiful site with nice people.

Arrived late and left early but good for a night to get into the park and do things early before it's too hot! Water available (but it's quite warm for drinking) There was a self fee payment station.

Nice wild spot in Dunes de Concon, we camp there after the sunset from the upper part of the dunes and we came back for the second night after one day of surf in playa la Boca (1 hour walking). Beautiful view on the dunes, the ocean and the city. No noise and really quite place.

A bar/restaurant/cafe where you can exchange 3 books for a beer. A comfy lounge area with big chairs and sofas to relax while you imbibe. Not a book exchange for other books, but has a full wall of reading choices.

Rustic campsite for tent only. Easy access with motorcycle, bicycle and car. Various types of camping spots: almost on the st-lawrence border, in forest … very quiet. Employees very kind and helpful. Chemical toilets and potable water access all around the site.

Like the titel says. They have a waterhose. And we used it to fill our watertank, toiletflushbucket, and we even washed our car with it😂. They did not say anything. We also filled up our shower. Toilet we emty in the toilet and afterwards had a nice shower. The water is perfect temperature. The ladys ask the key at sweet staff. Also possible to sleep here. Asfalt road and you can park in front of the toilet building with nice flowers and grass. Almost no sounds because its far from the road.

We are driving so its a bit back. Lot of police pulling people over. We have our copys and they said no its a copy but we kept saying no its a real one. We were joking and talking and then they started to talk about money and how we can travel without working. It got a bit annoying (always when money is the subject i think) buttttt then i used the emblames i got from my dads old uniform who is a police in holland. I have a lot with me and if the police is being annoying i give them a recarlo haha! Look the picture. And after this its always good and we are free to go😂. This police officer was so nice to make a picture with me with his present.

Not much to add, the owners are really nice and it is a good place to relax. We were charged 10K for using the laundry machine. So not sure what the actual price is.

The first time I can remember not having overcooked eggs and the sourdough pancakes are delicious. Coffee was good and the server is very attentive. Cute little store selling a bit of everything in a small space. All the employees are friendly.

Plenty of big rig parking, cabin rentals, gas, ice, propane and other amenities. Situated on the east side of Lowman amongst several campgrounds (far more than have been reviewed on this app).

Best view on river rapids. Great campsite during the week. Got swamped by busload of kids during weekend who regularly walked through our campsite. Not enough ablutions for such a crowd. We had to hastily pack up and scram.

Five nice dispersed camping sites along the Bear River. I was able to get one bar of Verizon along the road there, just enough to send a text and let people know where I landed. Hot Springs up the road are open to the public in limited time slots from 10-9.
