blessedveteran | This place has a couple of campers that look long-term. It is full tonight. The place does have a lot of leaves everywhere and very dry, as the previous review stated. It's ok for a free place to stay for one night. We did have a campers dog run up on us tonight. People, please keep your dogs leashed. |

angel333 | Pretty quiet at night. With my windows up I can’t hear the cars that do pass on the highway but I am a little hard of hearing as of recently. I’ve passed by this park n ride many many times and I seem to recall always seeing several vehicles parked but appear to be unoccupied usually. I’ve decided to give this place a shot instead of an addition 20 minute drive to concord PF. It’s been an uneventful night. No sight of any law enforcement and a local told me they would not bother anyone parked here. 3 cars and a pick up truck parked over night. only one of those vehicles had a person staying in it. Plus me in my van. |

RogueWanderers | Beautiful peaceful cove, easy dirt and gravel road to get here. We spent the night with two other campers but there's plenty of space to spread out. Posted for excellent swimming, rocky beach. Sign at the entrance road in Greek says no driving the road or using the area during fire hazard seasons 4 and 5 with a website to give you more information. No fires allowed because of fire hazard. 4G on Vodafone. |

our.overland.adventures | Surreal spot in the middle of the desert with a big lake guarded by the tallest dunes in the area. Great sunset and sunrise spot. One of the highlights of our stay in Oman. Way nicer than Wahiba sands as the dunes are super tall here without vegetation and there is barely anyone going to the lake. Track is worse though with some corregations, especially the track coming from the north. Track is easy to follow. Coming from the north (nicest side) there is quite a lot of soft sand. Do not try with a 2wd as there are barely any people coming here. When you come from the south the track is graded and super easy although a bit bumpy in places. You can do 80 km/h here till the oil fields, about 50-70 km from the tarmac (this is the boring bit). After the oil fields the track becomes more isolated and nicer but also more corregated. You'll drive between high dunes here. Then the scenery switches between flat gravel desert and dunes until you reach the lake. If you have a 2wd this is where you should stop and turn around. 4wd cars can easily continue around the lakes and exit via the northern track. To get around the lakes you need to take a bit of a detour (see attached screenshot) as the track is swallowed by the lake. The track we took goed from approximately this point (23.3246148, 55.6777923) behind a small (maybe temporary farm) to approximately this point (23.3513835, 55.6889442) where we camped next to some trees. |
