Got my visa in 1 week total, super happy as in my home country I could not get it for 3 months ( the person responsible for the visa didn't have time for an interview). The process and fees are exactly as described earlier, the only difference is on 4th arrondissement maire they told me it will take 10 days (as far as I understand they do process this in some batches so no possible to make it shooter there) however one of the guys working there took me to the main office and helped to apply there. Then it was 3 days for a residence card and 2 days for a visa. I marked the location of the main office on the map 6.38282, 2.37762.

Very clean showers for free in the women and men toilet. Just ask and they give you the key.

nice place to stay at. directly under the trail to the top of the volcano. we came here with a 2wd without a problem. the first 500m are pretty rough but after that it is just the black sand - or more of a gravel. of you stay on the driven roads and go around bigger hill on thw way instead of on the top then it is an easy ride even with a 2wd

We found down the valley a nice grass flat area to fit even a camper and nobody came to bother us, except some cows. At night you are hidden from the passing vehicles but after 8pm, there was no one driving, so we had a quiet night. In the morning, some villagers passed by, greeted us, and went in their way. It's not bad for a place to stay.

Big pet store, with huge choice of food. Also Royal Canin/Vet food, you don't find in supermarkets.
Further on, leashes, harnesses, collars, beds. Everything for dogs and cats.

Open Monday to Saturday 9-20h.

Quiet spot because the Cranes have left for the season. Still beautiful area with other birds and wildlife.

Very easy experience! We booked the tickets one week in advance and paid around 55US$ for a van and two people. Arrived there 2 hours before the departure and waited in a long line. A guy came, checked our licence plate and said we are good to board the ferry. We didn’t need to show our ticket. On the ferry you can sit in your car if you want.

We did a Tour with Pedro to the Mines. He and his brothers are miners himselfe. He speaks perfect English and is very motivated to give you a inside view to the life in the Mines and in Potosi. We paid 150bol for the tour. After the tour we had beers and dinner together. Would definitely do it again. Was nice to talk after the tour. We stayed with the car two night in the backyard of the office and were allowed to use shower and bathroom. Great experience!!

Hablado con el recepcionista, una persona malhumorada y no muy amable, nos dice que ellos no tienen web site yque los telefonos que vienen en internet no existen. El teléfono es 8665719236. El camping, esta viejo y un poco sucio. El precio es de 62 $ un poco alto, pero esta dentro de los terrenos de Graceland, donde puedes ir andando.

A leak in the brake assist. Dante and his knowledge were able to know how to repair it whereas in France we would have had to changed it for new because no one knows how to repair it. They find the solution to everything and are very methodical. We took the opportunity to have other things repaired.
Trust worthy garage with fair prices.
Une fuite à l'assistance de freinage.  Dante et ses connaissances ont pu savoir réparer alors qu'en France on aurait été obligé de changé pour du neuf car personne ne sait le réparer.  Ils trouvent la solution à tout et est très méthodique. On a fait profiter pour faire réparer d'autre bricoles.

10 minutes north of Quesnel. Hwy rest stop. Large lot. Pit toilet. Safe to spend the night. Great cell phone reception

The Oudja Hotel warmly welcomes overlanders. Located directly at the beach and under coconut palms. Very good fish at the restaurant and very friendly owner and staff.
Access to the hotel in general possible for any type of vehicle in dry conditions. But there is some deep sand in parts of the hotel area. Rather for smaller vehicles as access might be difficult because of the trees.

coming from Cainde/virei locals advised us strongly to take the right track towards Lubango, which is not shown as track in ioverlander or mapy.cz
they said that the road to the waterfall in hungeria is too bad to take.
barely any tracks visible to the left where it goes to hungeria.

We came from Virei. this point should be 600 m before this point, before the fazenda. we came from the east back onto the Mucuna chibia road.
The locals advised us to turn right (before hungeria, where we put another pin) due to the bad road towards hungeria. we turned right and dropping our plan to visit the cave which was like 10km away. it was still a very bad road with many street construction with stones from our side. especially for a high car like us being 3,15m with a pickup and cabin we lost contact with one wheel several times.
It took us one day to go from the fissure pin/ whole in the road to chibia.
Maybe you can find another path from virei to go north as that part was not too impressive (compared to the savannah road prior to virei) and can be missed.

it took us the whole day to go to Chibia/Lubango. it's a bad road, especially for us being 3,15 m high with a cabin. 4x4 necessary, though doable. we did some road construction. maybe in Virei we saw big trucks driving, so the locals might know a better path to get out there.
many parts of the bad sections had drive around options for a car with a height of 2 m

Went for motorcycle passavant extension. during stamping he told me it is 2500cfa and I refused to pay without a receipt. did not pay. he said that he will not issue me a second stamp if I come back.

Beautiful views from a narrow ridge jutting out above La Bufadora. Short, steep walk down to La Bufadora. Difficult access for big rigs. Turning our Tundra and 16-foot Airstream Basecamp took a few tries. 200 pesos. Didn't use the toilet. The views alone are worth the price.

Vietnamese food for those that don’t know what good Vietnamese food is. Bun noodles were soggy, there was no mint or coriander in the dishes, which is a staple of the cuisine. Perhaps it’s good if you’re just ordering more meat/grilled dishes.
