This border crossing was just as described here (thank you everyone!) with one update. You do need to get a passport entrance stamp for El Salvador. The Guatemala exit stamp is no longer sufficient.

To do this:
Once you have received your TIP from the El Salvador Aduana’s office, you go to the Immigration Office walk-up window. This window is located just to the left of the Aduana’s office door. Here they will stamp your passport and then you can return to your vehicle and continue.

As Canadian’s we had to pay a $12 USD/person fee for a tourist card (cash only). There was a formal sign that stated this, and listed several other countries that this applies to. We paid no other fees exiting or entering.

room with private bath for 25.000 pesos. super clean. rooms are next to the restaurant (not in the same building), so also quiet. food in restaurant (not only pizza) was delicious!! highly recommend to stay here.

Quiet place for park before or after Delhi. Not so much traffic. Petrol station, restaurants and workshop available but A lot of mosquitos 🦟

look behind shopping plaza about a third of a mile up a dirt road is this gem. Who would ever think of coming up here? Need photovoltaic panels, there are some here. This place is simply a big open area in the middle of a small maine city.

Watch out if you are driving a camper which is havier than 4000kg and looks like a truck! Police officers tried to give us a multa of 350 dolares (or 2 million Gr) for driving to the costanera from here which is not allowed for trucks. (It is allowed coming from the south, no problem.) They even took us to this little police station and tried for an hour to get some money from us. While we, in a respectful way kept saying "lo siento, no podemos pagar", they lowered the fine 4 times! Finally they let us go. We paid nothing. Don't give them your real documents, or ask them back right away.

This is a great place to escape from hot temperatures. They charged us a 100 pesos a day per person. Even our heavy not 4WD truck made it down to the grass and the river. Very dog friendly. Starlink works perfect. They have water, a cold shower and toilets. The area is big enough for a couple of oberlanders.

A great pull off for multiple vehicles, hard to spot when flying by gap on the guardrails. Amazing chill spot.

Descriptions are accurate. Large rigs (>25’) will have trouble with narrow (single lane) road and tight turns. Get here early as it’s small and fills up fast. If it’s full and you’re tired, park in large lot by bathroom (see photo). Vault toilets clean and well-stocked; grounds clean and well-groomed. Incredibly beautiful place.

We first try to come here through the north side but were not allowed to drive here by the traffic police (see post on corrupt police station). So we drove through the southern entrance, which is no problem.
We had a good night here with police guard 24/7 .
We walked to the citycenter, which is ok, but nothing special. Tried to walk back through the barrio Ricardo Brugada, but were stopped by some locals who advised to walk back via calle Rio Ypane. The barrio (which is between the centre and the costanera) is considered "zona roja", not safe.

Great volunteers in the visitors center. Unlike many rest stops we have stayed in there were only 3 semi trucks and they parked at the far end as far away from us as they could get, a nice change from having them right on top of us.

We were stopped here, police checked the papers of the truck and also the TIP papers. That was all, very easy and quick.

Going from west to east, had to pay 10.000 Gr for our truck.

Nice clean place (all free), but the showers were only cold. I think because of the off season.

Good potable water. Water pressure is okay. We refilled our water tank and there’s also a dump station right next to the water hose (closed between November 1- April 1)

So thankful for this rest area. Very large and has many dump stations.

Free. Fairly clean. All water (both flushing and potable) is still turned off for the winter, even in late April.

The gate to this Campground was closed with a sign that said entrance by permit only. I do not believe it's open. Sunset View is the only Campground that was open

Camping prohibited sign posted. Maybe no one cares but it's there, behind the guard rails on the access path to the beach.

We spent some excellent nights while we made some small repairs to our vehicle, the staff is very friendly, it is possible to calibrate wheels, refill water, gasoline delivery from 8am to 10pm and as if that were not enough, there is a bicycle workshop.

pasamos unas excelentes noches mientras realizamos unos arreglos pequeños a nuestro vehículo, el personal es muy amable, posible calibrar ruedas, recargar agua, despacho de gasolina de 8am hasta las 10pm y como si fuera poco hay autotaller para bicicletas.

There ‘s secure fenced areas around the stadium where dogs can run and play. Sometimes the gate is locked so walk around and find one that’s open. Campsites are so grounded in Sucre and this really saved us and our young need to run dogs. Park Bolivia is too crowded and opens late.

If you are traveling by bicycle you probably never remind this spot. A little noisy because is near the road. So, there are worse spots in the road but this is good enough if the night catches you. I was looking for a better place 300m around and I chose this one.

Gorgeous area, 1 or 2 accessible for big rigs and many many other smaller sites for car or tent camping. One larger site has a beautiful view. No one else was camped on the entire road today
